If YOU where in Dimhollow and you seen Serana...

If YOU where a vampire hunter who went to Dimhollow and freed Serana from that thing what would you really have done after knowing she is a vampire with an elder scroll.

If I was a vampire hunter and I noticed Serana was a vampire I would have found out where she wanted to go and then kill her instead of taking her to her home. Why? Because she's a Vampire with an Elder Scroll and leading her home to more vampires is a bad thing. Yes she sounds like a nice person but that could just be her vampireyness (or whatever). Then I'd report to Isran with the location of her home.

Killing Serana would end the dlc cause dawnguard is all about serana.

Personally, I would've killed her in the cave, then rebuilt the dawnguard THEN killed her father.

The end.

No one would ever see me in Dimhollow. I wouldn't go into a vampire crypt. These people are dangerous, Mike. I'd be safely hidden in my room in the College, sipping hot tea and studying scrolls by candlelight, blissfully unaware of any Volkihar business. And I definitely wouldn't associate with fanatical types like Isran.

But if I somehow found myself hunting vampires in dank, unwelcoming dungeons? And if I knew she had an Elder Scroll? I'd have to be crazy to let it fall in the hands of a vampire lord. Not kill her though, at least if I can avoid it. Better take her in for questioning. Which I guess isn't the wisest decision since Isran would probably kill her in the end. I wonder what they'd do with her at the College? There's so much to learn if she would only talk.

I'd escort her to where she wanted to go. It's the gentlemen thing to do, and besides, I haven't done Dawnguard without completing the MQ first, so by the time I meet her I've tangled with the World-Eater, so I'm not exactly worried about stepping into a vampire lair.

Daeo is the Listener of the DB, at this point he's pretty much for everything. He doesn't see himself as a vampire hunter, however, and so when he saw Serana he was enamored by her beauty....and her eh hem assets...*cough*

If I was a vampire hunter, however, I would actually bring her to the Dawnguard first off before taking her to her home.

If you try to take her to Fort Dawnguard, when you enter the Dayspring canyon she finds the place a little strange and refuses to go any further. She then exits the area. You can then go and speak to Isran. I will not spoil what he has to say.

IMO, I would not be stupid enough to put my hand anywhere near the BIG, METAL, SPIKE, Nor would i be stupid enough to then move the statues into the correct position. I would go straight back to Isran and explain what i saw

Depending on my nature if I were to find myself in Skyrim... first of all lol.

I doubt I'd see myself in there. Much less even waking up Serana. I bet the moment that spike shot through my hand I'd be crying my eyes out and running out of there as fast as I could. Thats even under the assumption I made it that far which my real life self would NOT have.

Honestly if I found myself in Skyrim I'd settle for chopping work, working a merchant shop and maybe some smithing. VERY doubtful I'd be out adventuring much less assisting in dragon attacks with my dagger. I'd be inside hiding under the bed with my dog I tell you what.

Logically speaking, a Vampire Hunter would have had the notion to kill her. But that wasn't the goal.

The goal was to find out what the Vampires were seeking in Dimhollow Crypt. That would have been a Vampire, in deep slumber, with an Elder Scroll. The more intelligent Vampire Hunter would try to figure out why she's so important instead of randomly hacking her head off.

Besides, it's not like she was hostile.

What was illogical was escorting this Vampire - Elder Scroll in hand - to an ominous castle with a vampire gatekeeper. The smart(er) thing to do would have been to force her to the Dawnguard for questioning.

I don't think that would matter, considering how much women talk anyway.

I honestly cannot stand that Serana is your go to throughout all of DG, I can't think of a single reason in which while playing on the side of the Dawn Guard that she deserves or even needs to be alive. I'd much rather have the choice or opportunity to bring one of my fellow Vampire Hunters with me as I progress through the story.

You don't need her to find the Elder Scroll, you don't need her to get the bow or take down a crazed Snow elf vampire, all of it could have been done without Serana. The fact that Serana plays the biggest part in both sides just makes it feel the same, I can't tell if I'm doing Vampire quests or quests for the complete opposite.

Edit: Once upon a time I made a poll about the option to kill her, it didn't go over well with all the Serana love back then.

If I knew what was going on I would give her instantaneous death, incinerate the corpse, dissipate the ashes, take the scroll directly to the collage, retrieve Auri-el's bow, destroy it, rebuild the Dawnguard, then slaughter the Volkihar cult.

If I did not know, I would bring escort her to the castle, destroy her, take the scroll to the collage, begin the rebuilding of the Dawnguard, destroy any vampires the at the collage inevitably seeking the bow and hang their burning corpses on the bridge arch-way (For a physiological deterrence if the animals should take concern for their own well being.) Promptly, the Dawnguard would have sufficient forces to eradicate the Volkihar cult. After the denizens were slaughtered, the interior should be charred and the castle itself should be largely demolished.

Any sane vampire hunter in full control of his/her faculties would probably either:

1) Kill once they discovered she was a vampire

2) Figure out why the Volkihar want her and then possibly kill her or capture and take her back to Fort Dawnguard.

But I certainly wouldn't escort her back to her fathers Gothic Castle-on-the-Sea. That's insane. It always bugged me that you have to do that to advance the story line.

But think about my first sentence in this post: "... in full control of his/her faculties ...". Vampires are masters of deceit, guile and Illusion magic.

What if Serana charmed you or placed you under a geas (AD&D represent!) to lead her back to her ancestral home? What if Bethesda, not wanting to be heavy handed about it, had Serana suggest it to the player and continue to suggest it to the player to make it seem that they are acting on their own.

I realize that this is pretty far fetched, it's just a thought I had.

My point of view was this... curiosity.

A vampire who didn't attack on sight, was pleasant to be around and seemed downright... human. A curiosity in the land of Skyrim.

My initial idea was to find out more about her rather than destroy her.

As for the trip to her father... well what better way to see the inner workings of an unknown coven of the creatures.

After that her offer to help was completely out of charatcer and made her even more interesting. Myt intial character felt very close to her.

I'd be like Jackpot. Giggity giggity, giggity goo. Even if she drains me off all my blood it still wouldn't be a bad way to go, getting your blood svcked by a vampire, among other things. Giggity.

I see what you're getting at. I would liked to have had the option to cure her at that point in the questline as opposed to the end of it. I think it would have fitted the story better for a character playing the DG side of the DLC anyway.

I disagree, only because Serana would have no reason to seek a cure at that point. She agrees to cure herself if you play your cards right and treat her as a person and not a monster. It wouldn't make sense or have meaning to it for her to do it right at the beginning.

Pretty much this.

If I was Bilbo Baggins'd into any funny adventuring business, I'd probably do my best to convince her to come to the College where the scroll could be kept safe by the most powerful of mages in the land and teach us any knowledge she has.
