If you woke up tomorrow...

What would you do if tomorrow morning you woke up and you truly were the Overseer of your Fallout Shelter vault? What would be your first order of business? :run:

(Looking for fun, creative, storytelling answers) :D

Open my sealed orders from Vault-Tek to find out what place my vault has in the Societal Preservation Program experiments.

Have you every seen the introduction of Desmond in the television series Lost ... it might be a little like that ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgsNjTyGsRk%C2%A0:banana:

Seriously though, here goes:

Kenneth opened his eyes slowly ... the previous day had been brutal ... three of the youngest dwellers had fallen to the Deathclaw incursion ... the other dwellers were restless and frightened and Kenneth had spent a restless night tossing and turning ... heading for his espresso machine he started the brew and quickly scanned his monitors ... dwellers were working hard in the power plants and medical bays and it appeared that a long line of explorers were ready to come back to the vault ... Kenneth was hopeful that one of them would bring some new über weapon that would help stem the tide of death from the deadly Deathclaw outbreak

Kenneth turned at a whirring sound behind him and saw Mr. Handy #1 with Kenneth's hot espresso ... as Kenneth sipped the drink and absorbed the caffeine he continued to scan the monitors ... there seemed to be some sort of ruckus in the Garden ... was that Molerats bursting from the ground ... Kenneth didn't think Vault Tec had fully explained the responsibilities of Overseer when they had offered him this job ... but it is what it is, just another day in the Apocalypse ... Kenneth finished dressing with his Vault 666 overalls and thought, "whoever named this vault was more prophetic than they knew, because the Apocalypse is truly Hell" ... and then he went off to visit his dwellers :fallout:

Hehe, I'd wake up and freak out that I wasn't in my house, my room, my reality and hide under the covers! :cryvaultboy:

Seriously here it goes...

MasterGeeb, Overseer of vault 777 wakes up slowly from his insomniac rest of only 1 hour of sleep after the day previous being terrorized by deathclaws and molerats. He stumbles in his dimly lit room over to the neon lit Nuka Cola sign hanging above the fridge. He opens up his Nuka Cola fridge, downs an iced Nuka Cola and checks his pipboy. Slowly his happiness raises from 33% to 75%. Then he goes into the living quarters with his wife. He is now at 100% happiness and ready to start the day! :disguise:

As he monitors his rooms he faints! All of his dwellers are dead or worse, GHOULS! OH NO, he thinks to himself. I should have listened to my Legendary Dweller James and let him purify the water in my vault! The Overseer rushes to his wife who he just left knocked up in the living quarters to find her screaming like a banshee running throughout all the lower living quarters. A chill runs up his spine as he spins around to see a ghoul couple who only yesterday were sweet and normal Ozzie and Harriet, sprinting towards him with a flesh eating craze in their eyes! The Overseer is ready for the attack though as he just finished training his last stat Agility to 10. On top of this he is wearing his Heavy Overseer Vault Suit which comes with a +5 to all his stats! He raises his Rusty Fatman and shoots. The room turns white, a mushroom clouds forms and dissipates quickly. The smoke clears and the overseer is startled to see that because his Fatman was Rusty, it had little to no effect on these ghouls. Before he can reload another mini-nuke in the chamber, he is quickly swarmed and eaten by the salivating ghouls. While he is getting chomped on the Overseer's only thought is he should have stayed out in the wasteland just 1 minute longer because then and only then he may have acquired the Hardened Fatman which would've turned these ghouls into french toast.

Well the other version would have been I leave the vault housing my knocked up wife to become the lone wanderer out in the wastes but I felt that was a little to unrealistic and over the top!

Here is one more short excursion ... I'm bored :D

The hot wind brushed against Overseer Kenneth's face as he stared into the Wasteland. Today was the day that he started sending out explorers. He had handpicked a number of his best dwellers for this exercise and his hopes were high for the endeavor. He eyed the line of dwellers closely. Roy was lucky, that was certain; Janet was the person that everybody loved, she just lit up a room when she entered; Dave was the powerhouse and Kenneth was sure he could lift a truck if he tried; and Tom was the Energizer Bunny, he could take on the most punishing environments and tasks. There were others in the line as well and Kenneth hoped that they would be successful. The attacks were increasing in intensity and Kenneth was sure that they needed to find better weapons and equipment to survive the onslaught of raiders and now the disturbing incidences with Deathclaws. Kenneth sounded the Vault Door alarm and his dwellers were off into the Wasteland. As he turned to go back into the vault he heard a mournful wailing in the distance ... Molerats?, Deathclaws?, or maybe something worse ... Kenneth tried not to think about it, and his dwellers out in the Wasteland, as he descended back into the vault and thought "War never changes" :fallout:

Fallout (Shelte) series may be good base story for new TV drama franchise like Walking Dead or Lost.

The Nuka Break series on YouTube has been awesome .... I am surprised that they haven't tried a full series officially yet ... especially now that we have web based series on Netflix and Amazon ... I think Fallout Nuclear Dawn (or something) would make a great series :D
