I was putting flame on a big spider. Kill cam kicks in to show the spider's death, which means of course that I got no control now. The spider spat venom over me and I just keeled over and died all in the same kill cam scene. That is so damn unfair there's not a thing I could do to stop it. The kicker is I'm doing dead is dead and if I see my char die, I just can't go on. What a waste of gaming hours and sleepless nights. It's just one of those small but vital things that Beth really screwed up.
Like have you noticed how when you pause using the inventory, button B on xbox, that for a split second the sound and current action actually continue even though the screen is static. That's how kill cam makes sure that bandit's big Warhammer still kills you even though you have time to get a potion in before the blow is landed. It's like oh, let's turn the controller off and let the game just run with no input, but right at the crucial life or death moment. Oh and while were at it, let's run the kill cam BEFORE the chars health runs out. Presumably its timed so the death in the kill cam scene occurs at the time death would have occurred even without kill cam kicking in. But that's just not fair, seriously, I mean if you got time to gulp a potion to save your hide, the game should allow you to do it right? The answer is clearly that char kill cam deaths shouldn't happen until the health bar actually reaches zero. I have lost count of the number of restarts I've had to do because of this........Thanks Beth.....not.
