There was this one Dunmer girl in Raven Rock whose comments made me..."feel liked".

She was part of the traitor family so I was disappointed to end her existance.

People think it's strange that she is almost the same age as her father.

How is that possible?

Spoiler
She is slain during the quest Served Cold.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo...

The Dunmer were a wild, unscrupulous people in Daggerfall -- sort of like Drow, I guess? The Real Barenziah was written for Daggerfall, and it shows.

Then Morrowind made them a conservative and religious society.

And people complain about Cyrodiil not being a jungle...

Hmm, I wonder. I've spent several hours in Morrowind and not noticed such a thing.

Edit for clarification: I referred to the promiscuous part. Not the conservative and religious part

The main source of this is (AFAIK) The Real Barenziah. Thing is, even there, it is said in a way that sounds like they are claimed to be promiscious rather than stating that they really are.

Unfortunately, people can't read, and suddenly a rumor is a fact. :P

(I get the same kind of vibes from this like irl, if a guy is with many girls, he's cool, but if a girl is with many guys, she's a [the word I want to use will be censored].)

I only played the last 3, but I'm sure I would have disliked the change if I played Daggerfall...maybe. They're my second or third favorite race. I don't like the direction this is going with this TES:O though.

I have written a promiscuous male character for a work-in-progress Oblivion mod. I have no problem calling him a man-[censored], because he is one.

That book is from Daggerfall. Daggerfall was published in 1996.

I also think that a lot of the information in those books (The Real Barenziah) is kind of suspect.

Also, IIRC, a Nord woman told Barenziah that dark elf women are promiscuous, which makes it even more suspect.

I just got the impression the description was lifted from one of their other UESP Dunmer pages. Is TESO actually going in this direction or is UESP just lifting assertions from other UESP pages?

Why does he need to be a special kind of [censored] just because of his gender? Why can't he just be a [censored]?

The only time that the 'promiscuousness' of Dunmer is brought up in the Real Barenziah is in the original manuscript in Daggerfall. There is a quest to find it so that it can be edited out, and the offending portion isn't in the revised editions at all.
This sort of calls the whole statement into question, seeing as the only source (that I know of) is a rough copy of a biography of one woman who happened to be told young Dunmer were promiscuous.

I think they should take that out or change its wording or something, as that is misleading.

They just took it from another page, so that has been there for a bit.
