Your biggest disappointment?

The amount of bugs in the game. The lack of spell creation and spell types.

my biggest disappointment is pretty much the lost opportunity to fail at anything from spell casting to alchemy. I guess Bethesda wants to be everyone's best friend.

Oh, and (again!) Bethesda's horrible maps. Yeah, they're different than all the other designer's maps, but they're also much less functional.

Levelled loot. Nothing is more annoying than finding a master locked chest which you finally open after breaking 3243 lockpicks only to find 1 lockpick and a potion of minor healing inside.

The whole game.... what a disappointment and waste of money.
1. Shouts; What do they do? i shout, i see i shouted, i hear the shout, but it don't DO anything!
2. This piece of junk map.
3. Followers; always jump in front of me to get hit by my weapon or arrow (and sometimes get an assault charge in the process.)
4. Lvl up from making iron daggers, but no xp for quests or killing (useless) mobs and dragons? just plain lame. Whats the point in questing for another 100g? (and see #6)
5. Steam; I have a MAJOR issue with this scam they call steam, and am considering pressing theft charges against them/it/whatever.
6. The bugged quests and npc's that keep blocking me in every little nook and cranny they can, (example, Thieves get hung up in the vault door, no matter what i do, or how many times i tried to restart, they get hung up and would not let me continue)
7. 70 hours of running in circles killing lvl 1 bandits, as they are the only enemy that seems to re-spawn at all. I have cleared the entire map, now what is there to do?
8. the ui; It would be nice to SEE what my character stats are, to SEE what i need to craft something instead of running back and forth from the forge to the storage chest in my house.
9. Where are my housecarls? i have managed to get thane title in whiterun and riften, yet never seen the housecarls. (like i want them anyway to jump in front of me and get killed)
10. Horrible control and the fact you can not look above water when you are in the water.
11. Load times, 3-5 min's to leave my house? Even longer trying to get out of a town? (maybe a pc issue, idk. I'm above the min requirments to run it, but it's not an extreme machine (amd x2 @ 2.2Ghz / 4 GB ddr2/ radeon 5450)
The list continues, but I'm sure you don't care. At lvl 45, 70 hours played, i figure i blew nearly $1 an hour playing this garbage that is now uninstalled and tossed in the garbage where it belongs.

Thank you Bethesda for ripping me off with a pos game ( that i cant even resell to recoup some of my losses due to the steam scam) that was NOT ready for release.

p.s. I am sorry i am not a computer engineer that you seem to have to be to configure mods/whatever to make it run right....what a rip off.

Truly:
a very dissatisfied customer (but hey, They got their money, what do they care?)

I've finally had my first taste of the game, and one thing that has struck me (although it's not really a disappointment as it doesn't bother me) is that the character models look nothing like they do in the screens on the 360. We were told that the media prior to release was 360 footage, but take for example the hot blonde tavern wench in one of the very first screens to be released... I've just met her and she looks absolutely nothing like she does in the screen.

The only real disappointment so far is the very limited Options. There's no way to for instance turn off health regen or the way enemies appear as red dots in your compass. You can't turn off seperate elements of the HUD is another one. So things like that.

And one other thing is grabbing objects and moving them around. You can still do it but it's not as good as Oblivion or Fallout 3. So no laying out elaborate displays of weapons and supplies in my house like in those games. That's a bit of a bummer.

I feel like the most accurate way for me to answer this question is by telling you everything I didn't find dissapointing.

Then water, the sky, the music

that is all

1. Shouts; What do they do? i shout, i see i shouted, i hear the shout, but it don't DO anything!

I liked the idea of shouts however I feel they were implemented poorly. By the time you reach level 30 (and I'm being generous) most of them are pointless. The fact that you can only use one then wait for the timer to countdown before you can use another is also flawed, each shout should have its own separate timer with a longer cool down.

-new thought-
Dragons! Again another promising idea that didn't live up to the possibility. They are way to easy to beat. I loved everything about them except for how easy they are to kill. I seriously take down Ancient dragons with two arrows!

I want more 9 Divine quests (I loved the Mara's Agent quests)
I want more factions, larger or smaller
I dont want spell creation. I want Scroll creation (makes more sense to me)

But thats what the DLC/Expansions are for

I'm surprised no one mentioned marriage as a disappointing feature of the game.
wives/husbands in this game are more like permanent companions than spouses.
unless this is some sort of dry commentary on the lack of love involved in marriage
and how people sought partners for financial/service reasons vaguely back in those days.

So... what would you have preferred? Cuddle animations? An "I love you honey (hug)" dialogue option? An elaborate "courting" quest? Penalties for not spending enough time at home? Just curious what you think would have been better, not hating on your opinions.

My biggest disappointment is the lack of spell combining, which was what was supposed to replace spell-crafting. Detect Life + Fire Bolt = Life-seeking firebolt? That was my favorite part of that really big gameplay video we got a few months back, and I was uber-bummed it didn't make it into the game.

- Lack of multiple character save slots. I've almost saved over my Level 34 Archer Assassin to save my game on my Level 14 Destruction Mage.
- Lack of on-screen display of favored skills/spells level progress. I'd like to see how much more my Destruction needs, without having to open the Skills menu.

Sick of immortal NPC's. There is a ridiculous amount of them, it would be nice to at least have the crown back like in Oblivion.

If you have the PC version, there are already programs you use which puts each person in their own folder so you don't accidentally overwrite. PS3 and 360, though, don't have such options.

Mine so far is not being able to equip sets of spells/weapons with one bind.

Why can't I equip muffle+invisibility as a set? Why can't I equip detect life and detect dead? Why do I need to use two of my already absurdly limited binds to equip a sword and board?

I could effectively have twice as many hotkeys, plus it'd just be far less of an awkward hassle when it comes to equipping stuff. I can't believe I've been able to play as much as I have in spite of the pathetic control scheme.

We really shouldn't have to wait for modders to fix it, it's one of the biggest issues on the PC, despite not technically being a bug. A huge disappointment that Bethesda hasn't done anything about it yet or even acknowledged it as an issue.

No DX11 support, no real 4 cores utilization and the character creation options... honestly they cut it by less than half.

The factions. Sorry to say it, but they don't have enough life in them ( I mean specific group activities independent of the player's actions), they're still four people in a room waiting for you to do all their work and make you their boss in 6 days. Their quest lines are also ridiculously short.

Yeah, I did prettywell in a game with myself, predicting who was gonna die by how little dialogue they had.

The first death in the companions the NPc was like, bawling their eyes out and swearing vengeance, and I"m like "Uhm, they said like, six words to me, most of which were insulting. Am I supposed to care?"
