Your biggest disappointment?

Post » Sat Dec 17, 2011 4:59 am

Mine so far is not being able to equip sets of spells/weapons with one bind.

Why can't I equip muffle+invisibility as a set? Why can't I equip detect life and detect dead? Why do I need to use two of my already absurdly limited binds to equip a sword and board?

I could effectively have twice as many hotkeys, plus it'd just be far less of an awkward hassle when it comes to equipping stuff. I can't believe I've been able to play as much as I have in spite of the pathetic control scheme.

We really shouldn't have to wait for modders to fix it, it's one of the biggest issues on the PC, despite not technically being a bug. A huge disappointment that Bethesda hasn't done anything about it yet or even acknowledged it as an issue.

the word wall by meridia doesnt work for me, thats my only complaint so far.

playing on the ps3, don't really have to worry about the op, sure it can be improved, but if it aint broke theres no real reason to fix it.

The more I play the more it annoys me, the "satellite map". I did not know they had satellites above Nirn, let alone the population of tamriel had handheld GPS. Its crap and I hate it, ive begun to look into replacing it :D

Also skooma, I made a thread on here about how much I was disappointed with skooma. If this is your first TES game you would be wondering why does this STAMINA potion have a fancy bottle and a fancy name...its [censored]...

Pausing in general
Cut backs on creatures, summing, crafting, buildings, NPCs, spells, weapons
Less exotic looking places
Simple story line with short quest typical to expect random dungeon diving even to join the bards?
Overall the new perk point limit and bunch of wack jobs saying it's ok to start over is just a spit in the face
Console users not getting what PC users get to have is also annoying

Probably my only disappointment is the removal of a few spells and spellmaking, and the former isn't that big of a deal.

As for hot-keys, try playing on console. I don't even have hot-keys, and I LOVE the favorites menu beyond belief. Now, instead of having to memorize ten damn hotkeys for ten characters, I just have all my important crap lined up in a menu I can scroll through easily. It may be worse on the PC, but from the way I've read it being described, it sounds like you have hotkeys along with the favorites menu.

Easily my biggest complain is the short and fairly weak faction quests. Zero believability and waaaayyyy too short. Which probably is what detracts from the believability factor.

Hah! No thanks. I think I'll stick to my vastly improved visuals, modding and console command capability.
I could use a controller, sure, but mouse and keyboard is still better even with the game poorly optimized for it.

I miss being able to cast spells. Oh wait, I guess you can say we can cast spells. I haven't noticed them yet though. You know, since they removed about half of them.

to sum up my biggest disappointment with this game: "streamlining".

I was saying that as in "You think you have it rough?"

Despite the fact I love the favorites menu.

Ah, I get it mixed up with unarmed. Personally, I would never use it, but I could see some people using it.

Bad balancing all around
Smithing/enchanting making dungeon loot/artifacts/uniques pointless
All difficulty settings being far too easy
Dragons are far too easy and common
Alduin is, WAY too easy
No branching/alternate endings to quests
Too many immortal npcs, that stay immortal
Poor ability to affect the world with our decisions in quests
Sneaking Ai is poor
Too many quests that are simply fetch this, or clear that dungeon
Zero high level (51+) content, when the level cap is 81
World overall has very, very few memorable characters
Odahviing, Alduin, and in general any dragons besides one were all woefully underdeveloped and lack depth character wise

Yeah, but for the most part they rather make something the majority wants.

re123 - You high, Bro? Master is not easy at all. Go start a new character and find the two handed band chief in the fort close to a other fort filled with vampires and tell me master is too easy. It's near Helgen and I always got one or two shotted.

Not being able to side with aduin and take a whole different path in the main story which would in my opinion add even more to the game's replay.
