Okay so this is my first post.
I play my imperial most... level 24 fighter with full daedric enchanted etc. but i'm bored. i want to make a dark elf because i think they are really cool, i also want to start doing some light roleplaying so any ideas are welcome
I have created a class called "Cultist." Basically the character is an undercover agent of the Mythic Dawn.
Class Setup is as follows
Race: (Can be anything. Cultists are found in all races.) My character is a Breton
Sign: Mage (Can be any of the magic signs really)
Style: Magic
Favored attributes: Intelligence and Strength
Majors:
Alteration
Conjuration
Illusion
Blade (Or blunt)
Block
Heavy Armor
Mysticism
The difference between this and a battle mage is that battle mages typically have destruction and restoration. Now for further advice. If you're on the pc look up the spell code for the mythic dawn power. On top of this I'd recommend that you do the main quest up until you "Infiltrate" the Mythic Dawn and kill the Argonian. This will make you an acolyte in the cult. Now use the console to unlock the door and simply leave. Now when attacking you'll say things like "Die nonbeliever!" and "For Lord Dagon!" You'll also say "I do not fear death." when taking heavy blows. In roleplay I collect anything necromancer, Daedra, or Magical in text. I also play my character as a deceiver type. Get people in power to like him and rise to positions of power so he can set them up for Lord Dagon's reign. I think the idea, tweaked to your liking, could be rather fun considering you played a fighter type for so long. You can even downplay the fighting bit and focus on magic (In fact Magic is the primary focus with physical skills to either back you or to fight enemies with high resistances. It's also good for when you run out of magicka or are waiting for it to recharge.) Another interesting possibility is enchanting a Daedric Claymore or Daedric Mace with absorb magicka and use the Atronach Birthsign. Switch to melee when you're out of magicka.
My character poses as a friendly guy but can become lethal. If he becomes suspicious that someone might be onto them he'll stalk them. Learn their schedule, break into their house, and eliminate them. He'll also put those who follow the nine divines or those who serve the Empire's belongings into the room in order to frame them (this goes nowhere but you asked about roleplay!). My character doesn't steal. He prefers to take by force if he absolutely wishes to have something but isn't the type to sneak behind someone's back and take things. To him, he's better than that and doesn't need to stoop to such measures. So the thief guild is completely out of the question. Of course, your cultist may be different. Good luck if you choose this route.
Another new character of mine is a Prowler. A hand to hand Khajit who uses his natural instincts and body in order to achieve his goals. This means that if he wishes to kill a target, he does so with his bare hands (or paws), likewise he doesn't rely on magicka either and only uses potions when absolutely necessary. Of course, this makes him disappointed with himself unless he was already vastly outnumbered. He does, however, use restoration and reasons that it's an extension of ones will. Through meditation he can heal the ailments of his body and is the true path for those more "civilized" but views Destruction as a complete abomination and twist of nature. He's an interesting one. Oh, and if you're really into immersion you can play Dead is Dead which is how I play.
