Is your character a collector?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 4:41 pm

I collect books. Even ones that I already have.

Now if we could just get a book case that could hold them all. :sadvaultboy:

^^This^^

Eventually I'll read them all, but for now I can't stop exploring long enough to do so.

My house in Markarth (Vlindrel Hall) is pretty much a mint. I have an entire room filled with gold ingots.

Nope, my favorite thing to collect was lanterns, lamps, candles and so on. Not really viable in Skyrim, unless I want a bunch of unlit travel lanterns. :/

My characters (all of them) collect information. Letters, journals, maps, random notes and books. All of them go in a chest in my house or in a bookshelf, though I only collect books that interest me somehow or fit the character in question well.

Hmm, I should get an outfit from a city guard in every town when I eventualy build my own house filled with mannequins.

I actually gave my assassin/thief sociopath character a name in the Nordic style with the appellation "the Collector". She collects: Books (all of them) flawless gems, dwemer junk, absolutely anything unique such as bugs in jars, daedric artifacts, human hearts...

But mostly she collects crime stats, specifically the highest possible number in Items Stolen, Murders, and Lifetime Bounty.

My character collects mostly books and armor sets. Too bad none of the houses have enough bookshelves or mannequins.

I can't wait until January....

Yep. Got a few different mods that add some neat misc items for decorating and what-not. In fact one of the more popular one's on Nexus allows you to loot more parts from dragons (along with a bunch of other stuff, mostly to do with crafting), so I have a good amount of dragon hearts/skulls/etc stowed away. Only problem is the skulls are so big I can't really find a fitting place to display them. :sadvaultboy:

GOLD!

I've since expanded the gold collection, and started collecting diamonds.

I've probably got more cash sitting in that room than could possibly be sold.

I also collect any named item, and use the huge number of display areas for weapons in Hjerim. However, since I took the city for the Empire, the house is rather bugged due to its associated quest; lots of overlapping items, cobwebs that won't go away and so on. Still, useful place to show off my stuff.

I thought cooking was useless until I found these beneficial recipes: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Beef_Stew, http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Elsweyr_Fondue, http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Cooking, http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Cooking and http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Cooking. So whenever I kill an Elk, I loot the Venison or if I have mission for killing bandits in their holds, I loot the Eidar Cheese Wheel (only few NPC's sell these at 1-2 pcs/day but can be found in inns or houses).

I had the Aretino Family Heirloom (its a gold/silver plate given by Aventus) displayed in Breezehome and the amazing Sigil Stone (i thought it was just a small orb but its actually bigger than a crystal ball) displayed in Honeyside. And the Daedric Artifacts and other special weapons are in the racks or mannequin in Honeyside as well.

I collect skill books as well as other books that interests me like the Woodcutter's Wife and the Lusty Argonian.

Sweetrolls.

I once stole every. bottle. of. f-ing. wine. in. the. Honningbrew. Meadery.

I also collect every other item in the game other than foods and non-unique misc items.

I was also starting a collection of dead bodies, but the one I put in a very sixual position on my bed in Whiterun de-spawned... I was going to use it too...

Mammoth cheese. I used to feel so cool when my low level archer would sneak into a giant camp and steal all their cheese and loot their chest. Then I ran around to taunt them and ran away.

EDIT: I actually got some pretty good loot at low levels this way. Now I just shoot the giants in the face.

Tankards. Every one I see. I never skip one. This is a continuation of my obsession with coffee mugs that started in FO3 and continued in NV and has to do with my great desire for there to be coffee in all of the games.
Flagons
Dwarven cups
Strange Gems
Flutes
Lutes
Drums
Bugs in jars
Gourds
Ink wells
Quills
...These are just the items I make sure to pick up each of them that I see and keep every single one I pick up. I pick up a lot of other stuff and drag it back to my containers as well like unique items that are named and the odd pitchfork I find and the set of Forsworn clothing and weapons I decide I can't live without, etc.

Books, skulls and daggers. I do a special thing with every dagger I find, I must kill exactly one person with it before displaying it in my home, the only one I don't do this with is obviously the that does the most damage/is my favorite.

Am I the only one who collects all of the claws? That's the one thing I collect in all my files. I have a goal of decorating my home with all the dragon claws in the game (including the Golden Claw, which I plan on...acquiring), but alas, I play too many characters and re-rolled too often, so I'll have to start my collection again xD

Else than that, books on werewolves, since I almost always am one, favorite books that I've read, such as Thief of Virtue and Ahzirr Traajijazeri, and anything related to the third era, like the Third Era Timeline and The Oblivion Crisis--I'm a big bookworm. My Nord character collects silver greatswords from slain silver hand bandits (I won't even capitalize their name is how much I truly hate them for what they've done).

Else than that, not much. While I'm surprised no one else seems to collect the dragon claw keys, even in other "what do you collect?" threads, it makes me feel rather unique :foodndrink:

No, they are a great collection focus (for me at least).

I have diverse collecting tastes when it comes to my characters that collect. I compulsively collect books, started off fairly tame with a bottle collection (which is of an intimidating size now) then moved on to Imperial memorabilia (the character believes in the Empire) and so on.

Collecting is great.

Collecting is great.

Indeed. Another thing: I wanted to adventure around collecting all of the Songs of the Return. I never really put the time into reading it, but the first of them I found was volume 17, and I was very impressed that so many volumes of a book existed in the game. Soon, I found volume 56, and was both further impressed and daunted. However, after finding many copies of those two volumes, my suspicion rose...according to UESP, there aren't many in-game volumes :sadvaultboy: Maybe half a dozen or so; it definitely starts at volume 2.

I also collect almost everything. Here's a list:

- Skulls, Human hearts, Human flesh (why can't you pick up other bones anymore?)
- Nightshade
- Nirnroot (nobody else? )
- Every unique item in the game (e.g. Claws, or the Arrentino family heirloom)
- Unique Weapons and Armor
- Followers ^^
- Dragon Scales & Bones
- Books with dark content (Everything that has to do with dark brotherhood, necromancy or daedra)
- Golden Rings (Rings of Power ^^)
- Necromancer and Black Robes
- and theres a lot more that doesn't come to my mind right now

oddly enough I haven't been collecting much, just some alchemy ingredients and the bugs in jars.

It's weird 'case in Oblivion, and much more so in Morrowind I was one heck of a hoarder, collecting everything and storing them in various locations. I remember in Oblivion I had a shelf which I filled with all the disembodied heads, limbs, named bones, and bottles of human bones that I could find, I called it my grisly collection. In Morriwnd I covered a large chunk of the ground outside the temple in Vivec in dwarven limeware, every single piece in existence in the entire game, lol.
