Your character

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 4:58 am

Lets get a little roleplaying started amongst the speculation.

Who is your character?
What race and gender are they?
What kind of class are they?
Assuming that Skyrim follows the tradition and starts you off in prison, why are you there, and what do you intend to do when you are released?
Are you religious or follow any rituals?
Do you have any personal grudges against other races?

I usually think of new combinations each time I play an Elder Scrolls game, it can sometimes give you quite a different playing experience :)

Hard to comment on any of this when we don't even know what races are playable or what skyrim will be like.

I'd assume that the same 10 races that are playable in Morrowind and Oblivion will remain so in Skyrim. They might add another race, but I doubt it.

Edit: To OP, why don't you post your idea for a character to get the ball rolling?

A very good point I didn't submit my own character, fail.

I am Earfendel, Bosmer, Male. I am an assassin/thief and my reason for being a prisoner is sadly, I'm not very good at what I do and that I've been transfered from province to province as I am considered a menance and no one wants me, save Skyrim where I have never been before. I have no knowledge of the land and don't know the country at all. A brand new country presents a new oportunity for me to progress my skill set, no one knows who I am therefore no one will avoid me, it'll be like starting from scratch again. I do not follow any of the nine but I do belive that there is a singular power that gives me strength and I pray once a week, alone in candle light for strength and knowledge. I have a personal grudge against Imperials because I believe they think they are the greatest, and it was them who first started transfering me. Imperials are all fair game in my eyes.

An attempt ^

I'll play a male Dunmer. I have yet to decide the name.
I imagine he's gonna start out as something like a spellsword, and over time he'll take up stealth as a sort of hobby.

That's how all my TES characters start anyway.

As a background I think he would be a refugee from Morrowind, because of what happened in 'The Infernal City'. He lost his family and fled to Solstheim. He would have been poor and forced to smugle himself onto a ship to Skyrim, hoping for a better future. He didn't find it. He started stealing what he could and eventually got caught and was thrown in jail.

I have played as a Male Breton Battlemage (standard class) ever since I hired morrowind for Xbox back in 2005 and saw its picture in the game manual. Therefore, I will be doing exactly the same! His name is Eleidon, after Eleidon's Ward (my own little roleplay history for my Breton Battlemage :D)

It depends on when the game takes place.
Either the Varlayn family is going to have a magical new sister or a grand daughter.

Either way she will be a Dunmer Battlesister of Azura. Not sure about her first name yet. She specializes in Stealth and Magic, is rich, good looking and is going to freeze to death in Skyrim unless she gets her hands on some nice fur cloaks...
She was in Skyrim because It's a family of knowledge seeking adventurers. Or maybe she was in prison because of some weird reason, that tends to happen a lot in her family!
The people in her family are also artifact collectors and thus that's what she will be doing too.

I will also have a Nord character but he doesn't have a back story yet.

I've been debating this, though it's a bit early yet (heh) to make a decision. Most likely, at this point, I'll have a Dunmer and roleplay her (or him) as a descendant or relative of some of my previous TES characters. Who knows, maybe I'll have a Dunmer who tries to "go Nord" and adopts a name like Signy Snowhater.

Or maybe I'll be terribly radical and make a Nord. I'll let you know next November.

People, it doesn't matter what is confirmed or not. Just use your imagination on how you want your character to be.

I always play a Nord with usually some norse or nordic name.
He's a fighter and usually goes for the big Axe.
I'm in prison because I'm apart of a clan of Nord bandits and pirates.
I believe strongly in myself and ignore the nine.
That's pretty much it.

I'm not sure what i'm going to play. But i think Argonian.

My name is No-Tail.
I'm experienced with bows and stealth.
I have been found without a tail in one of the swamps, In my homeland Black Marsh.
I don't know what happened, And I have been searching for the offenders,
While searching for the offenders, I of course had to steal things. I mean I have to eat and drink.
But of course my luck can't go on for always, So the caught me and locked me up in prison,
I served for a few years, And one day before I left prison I received a letter, Which changed my life

"I can offer you greater rewards and less time in prison.
If you are interested, come and follow you're instinct. in all of Skyrim.
If you think you found us
Present this note and all shall be made clear.

Who is your character?
I haven't fully decided, but I always play as a goodie two shoes. That doesn't mean always lawful, but always goodly. The whole "only steal from the wealthy or corrupt" thing with the thieves' guild I liked. He will not be a murderer, and like in Oblivion I will reload a save if I accidentally murder.

What race and gender are they?
Male Khajiit

What kind of class are they?
Either a caster or a sneaky type. I was "Bard" in Oblivion. I always ended up having to fight up close and personal in Oblivion after my initial sneak blow, until I was to the point with a bow that my poison would kill from a distance. Because of that repetitiveness and at higher levels how LONG it took for my poisons to kill, even after sneaking, I'm gravitating towards more of a magic oriented sneaky type.

Assuming that Skyrim follows the tradition and starts you off in prison, why are you there, and what do you intend to do when you are released?
Perhaps due to poking my nose around too much attracting the attention of the wrong people. Curiosity caught the cat? I don't think my character would have been a thief before meeting the guild, and since he's pretty much a goodie two shoes it would have to be something like that. As to do what after I'm not sure. In Oblivion I explored the Imperial City for hours, raising the disposition of every character I met. I think if I start in a town I'd do similarly with Skyrim, though I hope its leveling system doesn't cripple me for doing so if personality is a major skill, as it did in Oblivion.

Are you religious or follow any rituals?
He might align with deity of justice or love but I couldn't imagine him actually worshiping, though he might hold a deep respect for a certain deity.

Do you have any personal grudges against other races?
No.

Like always I am the dunmer battle-necromancer Oraephin. Disgraced, Oraephin goes wherever his ambitions lead him, always with the ultimate goal of restructuring the world under his rule. Of course he starts as a simple disgraced mage with no allegiance, a stay in prison finally causes him to snap.

I'll be a Bosmer assassin/ theif, who also

I've always had a way with words, but I think I might be more of a hermit this time round, a total jerk to people, but deadly accurate with a bow.

I normally play a Dunmer male shadow sword. I wear light armor and swing a short sword or dagger. am a low-mid level member of the Dark Brotherhood.

I traveled from Cyrodiil to the home land of the Dark Brotherhood, Skyrim. Coming to hone in my already half developed skill. I am in Skyrim for two high level contracts to test my skills, after completing the high level contracts i get signed to the next contract that comes in, an entry level contract. I am stopped and thrown in jail for being accused of pick pocketing a well dressed man (who i think is a member of Morag Tong). And thats where i am now.

I try to use my up and coming speechcraft skill to get out of it but no luck.
I do not follow sithis, the Dark Brotherhood just approched me first so i joined. As you may be able to tell by my name i follow Boethiah, so i love my assassinations.

I particularly disslike High Elves, snobbish bastards, i take every High Elf job no matter the danger and/or pay.

I am a sentient F16F Fighting Falcon. I have infinite fuel and respawning mk82s and AGM 65s, and AIM 9Xs for those who ride dragons. I particularily dislike people who are too serious about themselves and their characters. I like to fly around at about 25000 feet scanning the ground with my radar. When something interesting pops up on my AGM visual screen I target and shoot. I also like to bomb forums with my 500lb bombs, just like this one! Anyways, see you guys out there.

Lydia Oscarus is the descendant of the legendary hero, Gregreo Oscarus.

She had heard tales of his heroic deeds and aspired to be a legend like him. Taking her family heirloom that was said to have been owned by Gregreo himself, she sets out to Skyrim to make a name for herself.

She's also a bit eccentric and claims to be a pshycic who can speak to the dead. People think her batty, but its true!

Name:Balthazar Asbjorn (old norse for divine-bear or bear god)
Race: Nord, Male.
Class:Nomadic Warrior, wields an ax or sword, no sheild and a crossbow.
Apparel:http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/File:Armour_of_Romulus.jpg is his outfit (without the hidden blades)
Background:. He does not deny the existence of gods, but he does not follow any of them. It is not widely known but Balthazar is actually a werebear, he has taught himself to control his transformations, at nights he will not change if he does not will it but as a result his primal instincts sometimes escape him in times of threat, or violence and he will go berserk, known to cleave a man in two during these times. As a child, his parents were [censored]tered during a raid by a enemy Nordic tribe, which is when he was taken in by a tribe of werebears(led by the flashy Rohugh, hehe) and taught to control himself. He grew up to be a lone nomad, helping where he can and fighting through the wilds of Skyrim, waiting until he is needed. When stopping at a mead hall Balthazar was insulted by a drunken nord, and thats when his primal rage chose to sneak its way out, Balthazar picked the orc up and smash him into the table, killing him on impact and was sent to jail for murder.

He is a kind and friendly fellow, but is really defensive (as you can see)

He is not racist, but he hates snobbish, stuck-up attitudes, like the ones High Elves tend to have

Me? I'll be Andii Drakescale (Old WoW character name, nothing to do with dragons in Skyrim)

A noble Breton adventurer, who favors the combat style of a battlemage. I can't say much else, I'll create more if people ask or when I find out more about the game.

I will start it off with a dunmer as usual with a combat/magic build. I will then make a full stealth Argonian. My Dunmer will be hailing from morrowind so ill give it a morrowind name. UESP helps out on the lore.
ill post up the info in a bit

- Baltis Sethran
- Male Dunmer
- Wizard (Custom Class)
- He would very much like to know why.
- No religion, but has been known to have dealings with Daedric Princes
- No grudges against other races

This is the character I have used in Morrowind and Oblivion. How did he end up 200 years in the future, you say?! (If that is the case with the timeline) Well, I have my own little story that explains it. :)

Who is your character? Casseus Clyde

What race and gender are they? Redguard male

What kind of class are they? Knight

Assuming that Skyrim follows the tradition and starts you off in prison, why are you there, and what do you intend to do when you are released? (Rumor has it Skyrim is a direct sequel to Oblivion, and if one listens closely to the trailer, it refers to the actual audience, leaving me to believe you are the Champion of Cyrodill from Oblivion. With that taken into consideration...) I was betrayed on arrival to Skyrim due to the escalating conflict and thrown into jail as a result.

Are you religious or follow any rituals? Having been the Divine Crusader, I have a strong belief in the Nine and upholding their principles.

Do you have any personal grudges against other races? All species are merely children of the Nine, even if they do not recognize this. If I have a problem with anyone, it is merely because of their personality and not because of their looks or voice.

there should be secret unlockable characters...

1. Urial Septim
2. Martin Septim
3. Ghoul (jk)
4. Adoring fan
5. (someone important from TESV)

seeing as you could remake them by yourself anyways, it might be cool to have an option to automatically set your character model to match famous TES characters

I'll likely continue the bloodline I started in Morrowind. My Morrowind character, who was secondary to the Dark Elf I used for the main quest, was a Breton male who I used for the Imperial Legion quest and the Raven Rock and Bloodmoon quests.

The next Breton male was my primary character in Oblivion. I used him for the main quest and most side quests.

Now here's the cool part. If the Skyrim PC is indeed the "Dragonborn", it works out pretty well because he is descended from the Morrowind character who happens to have held the Imperial Legion rank of "Knight of the Imperial Dragon".
