Your characters backstories!

Post » Sun Nov 09, 2008 12:52 pm

like the title says, this is a thread where you post your characters backstory if you are rp'ing.

mine is a man named Thane, and Ex-assassin who gave up his life of being an assassin after meeting the love of his life, shiho, a quiet girl who loved instruments whom he met after rescueing her from men he was sent to kill. After searching a far away vault, thane found an old pre-war piano, and after getting ahold of contacts, managed to restore it for her. for awhile, settling down with as a farmer and being with his wife was the happiest moments of his life. the nights together, the happy times while dealing with the nearby town. it was heaven to him, as it was to her.

but one day while out tending to the brahmin, he heard yelling, and eventually gunshots. he looked towards his house and saw a couple men runing with sacks filled with their corn, and supplies. he instantly feared the worst, and began sprinting full speed to his house. when he opened the door, he nearly tripped over a dead kahn, and realized they had raided their ranch. he began calling her name, and with no responce, searched the house. when he opened the upstairs door he realized the worst. his wife had been murdered, and that their child she was carrying, will never be born. crying at her grave, he swore to wipe the kahns from the planet, knowing that killing them wont bring her back, he does it now so they may never harm anyone ever again.

after he wipes the kahns and sides with Mr. House, he gains a loan from Mr. House, and begins a settlement with it, and named it after his wife. at first, raider groups and fiends tried to attack the town, trying to take whatever they could, but he always gunned them down, and being an ex-Assassin, he rarely missed, however, he always captured one, and let it leave, so that it may tell its groupies never to mess with that settlement. he died alone, but happy, knowing that his settlement will survive, and that he will join his wife soon.

Weap- Police pistol/BAR
Armor- Assassins outfit/Reinforced seirra madre helmet (looks awesome/in my rp its his old armor)

i kinda thought the idea up using a bit from boone (wife dying), RDR, and the rest i thought up myself :D
EDIT: i did however deviate the name/ex-assassin idea from mass effect

so what good RP tales do you guys have?

I like to Roleplay that my character is a highly intelligent and sharp negotiator, but he heard how much that job was paying, and he couldnt turn down the caps, so he took it and beyond his name, job, and where he's from (D.C.) he doesn't recall his past. He's very in tune with Pre-War technology and music.

I have a few files, but my mian one is the same person who I played in FO3.Hes a guy who faught in Alaska, returned to Texas, went to DC to get the Medal of Honer, since he was so bad ass,but then knew the war was about to happen,so he snagged himself a spot in vault 101. Knowing it would be to bad out there to help his country for a long time,he froze himself, and woke up 200yrs later, and began his adventure.Hes a very good shot,a good speaker, knows how to repiar things, and has his military survival skills.I know its a little different than most, but hey,its fun.

I really like the idea of making your own backstory, and im looking foward to reading alot of them, i really like the thought you put behind thane and crusher mcpherson sounds awesome!

As for me, nothing exciting, i made a fast talking, slacker who's a robot repair man by the name of Rusty Geers, he never has alot of caps on him because he's got one bad Nuka-Cola addiction.

Great idea to post this topic, i thought i was one of the few you thinks of a backstory before hand.

My first guy was just a Courier that could learn easily, my first 'real' RP character was a former farmer, but left his family and farm to provide money for his family and ended up becoming the leader of Vegas, and my current one was a former peacekeeper for a settlement, but left it when everyone could themselves, and got a job as a courier for a month and then was shot by benny.

Now he's going back for some good ol' fashion western justice.

I'm my character from Fallout 3,I was sedated my left hand cut off and my pip boy stolen, thankfully I found parts and medical files for Moira Brown to make me a prosthetic hand.Combined with my interest in pre war tech I went west to find helpful tech for the west coast brotherhood, when I came east I did what I could for the people where I sided with yes man, feeling like independence though less stable was better for the people as individuals, after yes man came back online I trusted his judgement for running New Vegas.I took the information from the platinum chip and a unit of mk 2 securitrons to the west coast, securing the BoS control in D.C. and surrounding areas even more than before, the securitrons used for high priority missions helped the safety of the wasteland tremendously.

I roll play as a guy that got shot in the head and doesn't remember caca about his past. He didn't care someone shot him in the head, he was just happy to be alive. The only lead on his past is his interest in guns, that he is/was a courier, and he likes to...eat people. He set up shop in an abandoned farm near a road and ate every merchant that he saw traveling upon it.

Gurkog the Fearless. I was always a bit "off" growing up and my tendency to start fights with people lead to my banishment from the small community I grew up in. I took on odd jobs to survive, but always stirred up trouble and had to flee from every haven I found. I heard about the Mojave Express and how I could make a living without staying in 1 town long enough to piss everyone off so I got myself a position delivering packages. When Benny confronted me about the package I got mouthy and started a fight I could not win. Getting shot in the head was probably the best thing that happened to me as I lost the need to start fights even though I still lack the drive for self-preservation. I pick up any gun that is big and goes "BOOM" and when I get into a fight I unload with extreme prejudice. I have a tendency to unload a few clips into corpses when I am especially riled up so I spend most of my time wandering from merchant to merchant purchasing the precious ammo that fuels my rage.

Someone plays a bit too much mass effect 2.

My guy was just a guy living off the waste doing whatever good he could, making the world a better place, however to help people he needed more money to actually do something long term. He took a delivery job. Got shot, tracked Benny and then became something greater. He realised he could make the wastes better, and he could put his skills to use being mr houses agent. He chose to sever any ties with his past life, forgetting about those people because he could do so much more good with House. He isnt an idiot however, and will hide among the ncr and at one time he was among the legion. Playing the two against eachother, helping them destroy eachother, and using the benefits he gained from both factions to help him continue to serve House. Eventually he decided it was time to strike and killed a veteran legion, supplier, then wiped out an outpost and took the fight to he enemy base, still on good terms with ncr, he wishes them no hate, only that they keep out of the Mojave, he feels regret for killing any ncr soldiers, its not them thats the problem, but supresses the guilt, by realising its for the greater good. He jsut spends his tme in the lucky 38, preparing, talking with frinds (companions) and doing any work house has, while still helping others in his spare time. Also must buy/steal/collect any absinthe he sees, loves the taste.

Thats more my entire RP character, not much in terms of backstory, I cant think of much for one, and one that ends up with him staying in the mojave and being a courier.

My favourite RP's:

Karmel, same girl from FO3. After blowing up the citadel, murdering everyone in DC and generally realising there was little more excitement there she opted to head westward and continue her psychotic campaign against the BoS and Enclave (she knows the men who killed her sister were in power armour and remembers nothing more). After her vertibird crashes near Vegas ('cough') she is found and brought to a nearby town, she then goes northwards to the main city of Vegas to attempt to regain her memory. En route she takes a job as a courier, since it will simply pay her to carry on her journey and meets Benny.
After waking up for the second time in a week with a serious head injury she rapidly recalls what happened. Thus begins a trail of destruction and chaos throughout the Mojave as she sets the major factions against one another, then kills the survivors.

Phoenix.
Unbelieving of the story spun him by the devilish trickster of a doctor in 'Good'springs Phoenix promptly crushed his skull. For some reason the heathens then forced him out. Knowing his true purpose as the Avatar of the Almighty he sets out to cleanse the Mojave of the unclean, be they ghoul, mutant or smelly.

Basically, Class A nutjob, tough as nails, wears the heaviest armour available and carries a big stick (super sledge asap) to crush skulls of the unwashed heathens. Seems to believe being dirty is akin to being morally unclean. Likes puppies.

My character is the same one from Fallout 3.

After have done wiping out the Enclave at the Purifier and taking out there base at the Airfield, I returned to Rivet City and was able to repair a Pre-War airplane on the carriers takeoff/landing strip and was able to make a substitute fuel mixing Nuka-Cola Quantum with some chemicals. After halfway to the west, My plane clips a vertibird that was taking off nearby and was able to glide it till it slammed into Good springs. A man believed I was dead and buried me. I was then dug up and took to Doctor Mitchell and was patched up. I am too weak from the crash and lost all my FO3 gear, so I try to start over again.

Two atm.

Foxglove Lovelace is a hippy wasteland med head, she grew up far in the north raised by her tribe of commune loving soldier medics.
Her home is a pre war M.A.S.H unit and her family and tribe all are descended from doctors, nurses and army personnal.
They made there ways in the wastes by protecting their base and providing both relief, education and entertainment for those tribes in need.

The community has grown now and in need for trade routes and scouting operations they send their brightest and best in all directions to learn what is going on out in the wilds.

Foxglove was given her fathers 9mm pistols as a parting gift and told only to use them if needed ( but shoot damn straight girl ).
The couriers job sort of feel into her lap and looking for coins and oportunities to see the Mojave she took it, thinking it would be safer as couriers tend not to get shot too often.....

Delaque is a mutated infiltrator and murderer, Heavy, palid shruken skin ( at least in my mind ).
He wears long trenchcoats lined with hidden pockets and his eyes are guarded by goggles to protect from even low levels of light.
He rarly speaks, can not charm or barter the shadow he casts drains all feelings but terror to anyone close to him.
Raised within the Boneyards by gangers that taunted and beat him he became strong by picking off those weaker than himself..
Soon this grew boring so he targeted those he felt were stronger killing again and again leaving wrecks of corpses no witnesses, either silent kills or full on massacres.
Headed on a prison convoy he slipped his bonds and killed the few guards that followed, into the Mojave..
There he stumbled on a courier being eaten by wild dogs, he chased them off and slipped on the freshly found disguse.
Only to be bushwacked a day or so later for some chip hidden in the lining of the coat he was now wearing.

First - Aristotle Salk, he was a member of the BoS a few years ago, and was very good with tech and energy weapons. He was out of the area during the battle for Helios 1, and when he came back he was surprised to hear that they were defeated and sent packing. He learned of the Lockdown and had to live apart from the BoS for many years. At first he was angry at the NCR, but eventually he gave up on his hate and focused more on technology. He doesn't care about factions anymore, but only really takes interest in them when they use technology, like the BoS and Enclave. He dislikes the Legion because they seem to be taking a step back in the tech department. He met Veronica, whom he didn;t even remember from the BoS and was able to get back into the BoS with her help. Salk traveled with ED-E and Arcade as well. In the end of the journey, Salk sided with Yes Man and made the Mojave a safe place for the BoS, where evenually they thrived.

Second - Daniel Montgomery (Monty), a member of the NCR, who before the events of the game was made a Ranger and then put on leave after the battle at Hoover Dam. He didn;t have any family or anything, so decided to take a job as a courier to see the sights of the mojave. Then the game intro happened. Back into the thick of things, he decided to get back into the fighting because he couldn't let the NCR fight the Legion without his assistance. He met Boone on his way back to the NCR from goodsprings, and had heard of his exploits as a sniper and the tragedy at bitter springs. he decided to help him out with his issues, and have been traveling together since, and have become the heroes of the NCR and the nightmares of the Legion

My character, Daniel Norman, is of Scandinavian and Scottish decent. As a former East Coast Vault resident he used to be a musician, playing an old pre-war guitar. However, when the door opened, he went travelling to find a place to stay, where he could play his music to new people. He had never heard of Rivet City or any of the other major settlements on the East Coast; New Vegas, however, had he heard of. On his way there a mysterious stranger offered him a lot of caps to deliver a funny-looking silver-coloured object to a Mr. House in New Vegas. He accepted; he was going to New Vegas anyway, and he could use the caps. He never saw what hit him. He found himself only remembering fragments of his former life, after he was rescued and brought to life again. The weird object he was to deliver was stolen; and so was his precious guitar. He now roams the wastes, still looking for his guitar.

He is very skilled in medicine and the general aspects of survival, so he gets along quite fine out in the wastes. For some reason he finds joy in killing people and creatures he stumbles upon, though he is careful. Wouldn't want to shoot someone, who might bring him closer to his guitar.

Veronica is a black-haired, green eyed asian girl, descended from the chinese forces that infiltrated USA during the war. Her father's whereabouts are unknown, and her mother died when she was 12 years old, since then living on the streets, learning how to stay hidden (sneak) and steal to get what is needed for survival (lockpick, science), use those who can be used (C7) and kill those who are a threat (guns).

These skills are what she uses now to support her rather expensive tastes and habits. Merc, assassin, spy, whatever, as long as there is money in it, she gets the job done. Physically weak (small frame, S4, E3) but with excellent aim (weapon handling, trigger discipline, P7), she prefers fighting from distance, unseen. Also she has learned how to use the cover of night to her advantage and mostly moves by night only (friend of the night, night person).

Weapons she uses are pistols (no revolvers, gunslinger), pump-action shotguns (shotgun surgeon), and rifles, preferrably scoped. Skilled at making her own, more poweful ammunition (hand loader) and keeping her guns in working order (repair). Also often lures enemies into mines, and uses handgrendes for larger groups of enemies (explosives). Her take on automatic weapons is that they are for "aiming challenged" people, her MO is "one shot, one kill" (sniper). Only wears light armor that doesn't restrict her mobility (A7). Despite everything, considers herself rather lucky person (L7).

Supports Mr. House since she believes he'll have the best benefits to ally with. Her motives are simply selfish, and doesn't care if or how her actions hurt other people.

Mako Vlazkov, leader of the newly formed West Coast Talon Company. He fought in DC, renowned for singlehandedly defeating a large group of Super Mutants ; after the BoS defeated the Enclave at AAFB, he led the Talon Company to attack Enclave installations and they captured large amounts of Enclave tech and many scientists.
Not wanting to make the past mistakes of his old commander in DC, Mako decided to scout the area before the Talon Company sets up a base in the Mojave, so he took a job as a Courier for the Mojave Express to gain access to the region, his opinion of the NCR is that they could be good employment business for Talon Company mercenaries, working for or against. He views Caesars Legion as bad for business, their army is strong enough to not need Talon Company mercenaries and too strong to work against. His opinion of Mr. House is... mixed; he respects his business savvy, but doesn't trust him in the least, and would rather have Talon Company in charge of Vegas... so that's what he'll do.

Bradley Atkins: A former member of the Brotherhood of Steel. Bradley was born into the Brotherhood as he was an ancestor of one of the families who escaped the Mariposa military base in 2077. He was part of the Nevada branch of the Brotherhood and was trained to be a field Medic. After sixteen years of intense training Bradley became a Knight. He was great with Medicine and able to use Rifles, Side arms and explosives effectively. Eventually tensions between the NCR and the BoS came to a climix, and war broke out. Bradley was never too loyal to the Brotherhood, he disagreed with their strict recruitment policy, and other things but could never leave. As the Brotherhood would likely hunt him down for desertion.

The Brotherhood were losing the war in the South West and Bradley would likely be a casualty. He decided in 2279 to leave the Brotherhood of steel. (He escaped Helios One in the Night.) and become an independent mercenary. The BoS were unable to hunt him down, every resource they had left available had to be put towards Defence of their territory and people.

Not having anybody else to help shoot the enemies down with him, his Guns and Explosive skills were forced to improve, becoming more of a soldier than a Medic. However he was still able to heal wounds better than most people. In 2281 he took a job as a Courier for the Mojave Express, mainly because of the insane amount of caps placed on a single package delivery. Unfortunately this didn't end well for him, as the last thing he can remember was being shot in the head by a man in a checkered suit.
