No way! For real!?
WTH!? Gen 3's are supposed to be "indistinguishable from human!?" Not breathing is pretty damn distinguishable and brings into question why this nonsense of the SAFE test . . .
Ah, yeah. That sounds right.
However I doubt that Gen 3's "NEED" to breath, although they probably DO breathe. If they really are indistinguishable from humans then they must also perspire, blush, urinate and defecate, ejaculate or eh . . . whatever the female equivalent is . . . experience staged sleep patterns, suffer certain basic human perceptual and cognitive biases which are readily measurable using experimental methods, and there hair and nails must grow, pupils dilate and contract, involuntary reflexes, etc., etc. all of which is probably "programmed" into them at the cellular level not because they NEED to do it in the same way that these functions are needed as part of human adaptations, but simply because the Institute wanted to make them appear to be human.
Have to say, I'm a bit confused by the Synth model hierarchy. I would have assumed that Glory was a Gen 3. She seems very human like to me, and I guess I had thought that Gen 2s were much more obviously human . . . but I guess now that I think about the story of the massacre in Diamond City that doesn't make sense. Gen 2's are probably superficially similar to humans, but are pretty readily detectable on closer inspection by a physician (e.g., NOT breathing would be a pretty damn obvious clue! )
So...you are basing this off the basics of the game mechanics...
And I thought CHIM was a load of bull.
Not the Courier, on Survival mode. :3

Wow, these forums are so easy to troll.
What is CHIM? I only found some links to the creation kit.
