A question on Malwarebytes, is it ok just to use quick scan or should I do a full scan regularly?

AVG Free
Malwarebytes free
AdAware free
Spybot
MRT
Zone Alarm firewall on the XP machines, Windows firewall on W7 and Vista

Wildly indiscriminate browsing. All real time scanners available to the free versions are installed. All programs updated and scans run at least weekly.

I'm not as secure as I should be, I just use malwarebytes. I use CCleaner but thats not really a virus protection software, technically. Is it? (I should know these things <_<)

Nah, Ccleaner just cleans temp files/registry and some other very useful things. But it wont protect you from viruses. Malware Bytes is a good piece of software, though, if sticking to free, I would go with Microsoft Security Essentials.

get a mac.
Haha, you're funny.

Wow! on my current computer i have:

Kaspersky internet security
Spyware doctor
Malwarebytes pro
Tuneup ultilies
Microsoft security essentials
& Ccleaner

Maybe i am crazy after all. :P
You're gonna wind up screwing yourself over when your anti-viruses begin conflicting with each other.

Anyway, my setup:

Avast! Anti-Virus
Firefox with AdBlock Plus, NoScript, and Flashblock
Malwarebytes
Sumatra PDF Viewer
And a good dose of the oft-mentioned common sense.

everytime some new super virus or worm gets discovered i attempt to get it on my computer. i figure that the super viruses will be so busy fighting amongst themselves that they wont have time to mess up my computer. so far so good. last time i did a scan with norton i had 53 viruses. and my computer runs the same as when i built it. :)

So far I've had few problems, mostly with cookies over anything else.

That's a very unhealthy way of looking at it... Get rid of them. When your hard drive melts and your GPU eats your CPU don't say we didn't warn you.

Hahahahaha

I don't use much security at home really, just MSE and Malwarebytes, and keeping updates updated.
Firefox + noscript + adblock + common sense takes care of the rest.

I run Gentoo Linux. While a multi-user system with a good permission scheme is helpful, it's quite bleeding edge, in security patches, but also in updates that may not have been extensively tested.

Other than "security by design" the only things I use are common sense and strong passwords.

What you said:

They are incredibly overpriced and behind on technology. No thanks, im not their target market (fools)

What I heard:
"Herp derp!"

Console/brand bashing is against this forums rules, as is calling someone a "fool" simply because they use a certain type of computer. Easy there bud, your maturity is showing.

No real time anti-virus installed. Just regular sweeps with Spybot Search and Destroy and Trend Micro's Housecall. Common sense goes a long way - I haven't had a virus or trojan in about six years.

I'm not really sure how that would constitute console or brand bashing, as he was simply stating his opinion. An opinion which I happen to share.

And if anyone's true maturity is showing, it would have to be yours, considering you just went all "herp derp" on him, which is basically calling him an idiot. Also, don't backseat moderate, it gets annoying and if the moderators have a problem with a specific post then they will delete it. They are the professionals after all. :)
