Thank you Crytek for FINALLY acknowledging this problem. I've posted plenty of relevant information already.

Thank you Crytek for FINALLY acknowledging this problem. I've posted plenty of relevant information already.
We're aware of the connection issues people are having but i was commenting on how the scale of the issue is misrepresented when information is scattered in pieces across the forums.

So judging by your post i assume you're still having this issue? What kind of network setup are you using? What kind of router? Have you tried portforwarding or activating DMZ on the router?

Same problem.

There's no reason to assume threads are deleted so long as they're on topic, spam-free and abuse-free. I'm searching for information so that we can try and fix it faster, so any relevant information you can share my help with this.

Thanks!

Do you qualify who post in anger that the product simply did not deliver what was promised or expected abuse posts?

I have a thomson speedtouch 706 stwl.

I have NAT STRICT whatever I do (haven't tried to disable UPNP wich worked in Bad company 2).

Anyway I can still play, pings are often set to 1000, but in game i get usually around 62 ping. But after several sessions, I eventually get disconnected.

I also feel a lag like in F2P peer-to-peer games, especially with sniper. 1/3 of time I feel like shot not registered, and when registered there is like a delay between register and animation of the guy falling (1 sec +/-).

Hope you guys will fix this, thx

Are you willing to give disabling UPNP a go? I could be wrong, but i believe if you have UPNP enabled, you can't have DMZ enabled, which could be effecting port forwarding.

If you give this a go, please let us know your results. Thanks!

Anything common about when it does happen? Playing a particular time of the day? Someone else in the house also using the internet? Perhaps scheduled downloads?

Thanks for sharing info!

If you could please post that in this thread we've got running for that specific error, that'd be appreciated!

I've tried disabling UPNP and that didn't work, I've also tried enabling DMZ, that didn't help. I tried forwarding all of the recommended ports, no help. I tried disabling all my firewalls and anti-virus, no help. I even tried bypassing the router entirely and plugging straight into the modem. No difference. I tried reinstalling the game, no help.

My theory is that the game is configured to want a very stable internet connection with little bandwidth fluctuation, which is something I don't have all the time. However I have played during times to where my connection was more stable and still experienced disconnects on average 2-5 minutes into a match.

I can add to the "issue" that if in the house there are two copies of Crysis 2, the game doesn't allow the two to be online at the same time playing. It disconnects one or both at the same time.

I have forwarded all the ports in the manual, allowed the .exe's through firewall and anti-virus and tried just about everything.

I still get kicked out of games about 2 minutes into it or can't connect to lobby at all
I still get my rank reset every time I log back into the game
I still get the "you are behind a strict firewall" message every time
I still can't enjoy this game because it was like this in the demo and nothing has been done

The only thing I haven't done it enable that UPnP which supposedly fixes everything because it's set to be disabled by default for a reason. "haven't tried to disable UPNP", guess it doesn't do anything then.

Please fix the problems soon or tell me what else I can try. I'm feeling I wasted my money on another CoD:BlOps disaster.

I tried UPNP off.

NAT is still strict, firewall off.

Did one server +264 ping in server list, got 160 ping in game
Another +1000 ping (in server list), got 54 ping in game.

Port not forwarded (Idon't wich one). But if I got firewall off (and maybe upnp on), is there a reason to forward ports ?

Sniping in second one was flawless (hope wasn't placebo effect), got great shots on moving targets.

How much bandwidth does your internet connection have?

I'm utilizing a 1.5MB/500k line-of-sight wireless service that terminates into ethernet at the antenna, which then runs into my house and plugs into my router. I do not use wireless to my desktop. The service can be sketchy at times but I haven't experienced the disconnect problems with any other games other than Black Ops a couple of times. When I did with Black Ops, my bandwidth was fluctuating by as much as 50% of the normal operating speed. I've experienced plenty of disconnects in Crysis 2 when the bandwidth service level has been very stable.

Thats an interesting and valid question. However I think that this problem would affect most players if that was the case. I suspect that this particular issue is probably affecting on average maybe 15%-20% of the players out there, given the level of attention/response to this issue on the forums.

My friend who plays this game claims to have been dropped off a server maybe 2-3 times in the past three weeks. However he has consistent Connecting to Host errors every time he plays, where as I never experience that problem. I've never had a problem connecting to any server. Its' just been a challenge maintaining the connection. I didn't have this problem playing the demo.

15-20% ? That is allot. You people should try it: go on a server with a friend or more, when it disconnects you, ask them if they got disconnected too. I play from romania and my friend plays from spain, and we always got disconnected at the same time. We play on ranked servers only.

Its hard to say if 15%-20% is high. It might be a little high, hard to say. But there are also those with other connection problems that I don't experience and could be related to the same issues. There has been a fair amount of feedback from people on this forum and other forums about the problems. We also need to take into account those who don't ever both visiting the forums to explore this issue.

I have played on a few different servers with my friend with whom I was talking to over the phone and I repeatedly got disconnected and he didn't, nor did anyone else that I could tell from doing a refresh on the server and still seeing everybody on it.

Hey guys I've had this problem FOREVER. Even since the demo was out. I've tried forwarding all the ports and DMZ and nothing was working. I finally found the answer for me today. I use a Linksys router with DD-WRT. In the Administration tab under Management there is an option for TCP Timeout. A long time ago I changed it from 3600 sec (1 hour) to 60 sec (1 min). This was to free up connections for another program I run to prevent my router from hitting its connection cap. I'm not sure why but this was causing my disconnects.

It really doesn't make any sense because if the TCP connection is timing out then the connection is no longer established anyway. But changing this back to 3600 allows me to finally play. Where before I was disconnected during every round, I've yet to be disconnected since the setting change.

I hope this helps more people.
