"Your connection to the session has been lost"

Post » Sat Jun 11, 2011 6:38 pm

15-20% ? That is allot. You people should try it: go on a server with a friend or more, when it disconnects you, ask them if they got disconnected too.

Its hard to say if 15%-20% is high. It might be a little high, hard to say. But there are also those with other connection problems that I don't experience and could be related to the same issues. There has been a fair amount of feedback from people on this forum and other forums about the problems. We also need to take into account those who don't ever both visiting the forums to explore this issue.

I have played on a few different servers with my friend with whom I was talking to over the phone and I repeatedly got disconnected and he didn't, nor did anyone else that I could tell from doing a refresh on the server and still seeing everybody on it.

It happens to me occassionally too, not to often, but enough to be aggrevating.

If it happens occasionally, that's simply when the server crashes!

Hey guys I've had this problem FOREVER. Even since the demo was out. I've tried forwarding all the ports and DMZ and nothing was working. I finally found the answer for me today. I use a Linksys router with DD-WRT. In the Administration tab under Management there is an option for TCP Timeout. A long time ago I changed it from 3600 sec (1 hour) to 60 sec (1 min). This was to free up connections for another program I run to prevent my router from hitting its connection cap. I'm not sure why but this was causing my disconnects.

It really doesn't make any sense because if the TCP connection is timing out then the connection is no longer established anyway. But changing this back to 3600 allows me to finally play. Where before I was disconnected during every round, I've yet to be disconnected since the setting change.

I hope this helps more people.

I have the same problem, after some minutes my connection to the server gets lost. Win 7 Home Professional 64 bit. In the menu it says "NAT: mittel" (german). Other Games like BFBC2 or CoD4 work without problems.

I believe its a 3rd party firmware he's using for that router. I couldn't find it on my tab either.

Personally I don't think that his recommendation is a fix for everybody's problem. I went as far as bypassing the router entirely and still experienced the disconnects in much the same manner that I had with the router in place. I put my money on bandwidth inconsistency and the game's bandwidth variance tolerances being too tightly configured. In other words it wants a VERY stable connection/bandwidth and will drop the connection as soon as it fluctuates a certain amount.

So ture, but their servers shouldnt require very good connection because most of the people dont have very good intenet connection including me :) They will lose lot of fans due to MP issues..

I have the same issue, but I am on a 25MBit Connection and in game I get pings of below 30 ms. So it can't be an issue just of latency. Although this issue is making the Crysis 2 Multiplayer worthless for me. We are playing as a group and I am the only one in the group who has the problem. Relative to my mates i am loosing XP on every crash, in addition team play is impossible.

I don't think it's a latency issue. I think it's an issue with a sudden swing in your bandwidth. Even though you have a 25MB line, is there anyone in your household/your local LAN that is sharing that connection at the time that you're playing? Is this a cable modem service? If it is, cable modem experiences bandwidth fluctuations as more users begin to utilize that same pipeline of bandwidth for TV watching, internet etc.
If somebody on your internet connection starts downloading a large file/movie/youtube etc, that will cause a fluctuation in your bandwidth. Though it may not be enough to where you start experiencing a lot of lag in your game play, it could be enough to trigger the game to drop your connection.

My bandwidth will fluctuate and there is a higher probability of me getting dropped from the server during high traffic times on the small network around here. It's almost guaranteed that I'll get dropped within 2-3 minutes playing from around 4:00pm to 11:00pm. Compared to playing in the mornings and afternoon to where I can maintain a connection for longer periods.

It's just a theory, but I can't think of any other reason why this is happening.

I have my own physical line and I am using it alone, single household.
The connection is VDSL and has been checked by a Technician of my ISP and there are now dropouts or changes in the connectivity.

Same problem here. After something like 4-5 minutes I get kicked the f*** out from the MP to the login screen.

This is very annoying, I feel little bit screwed! I paid real money for something that was promoted as final product and its not working properly (even with patch 1.2). And you know what - I've bought it ONLY because of Multiplayer!

Why is this so f*** hard to fix this issue? It's not 5 people having this problem - its many many many more!

I remember online multiplayer playing was possible few years ago like ... Quake 2/Quake 3 etc. now it's 2011 and i feel like the internet is something new for Crytek staff.

FIX THE DAMN ISSUE OR GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK!

PS. Best part of this all is that i heard lately that crytek will think about making crysis 3 if only crysis 2 will sell a lot.
I've got the answer for this (from my magic ball): If you wont fix the damn multiplayer issues (all of them) then go work in shoe store instead of making games!

I tried everything to solve this problem but its not my router or my connection or anything hardware related.
My suggestion is to turn off all other progz that use a constant internetconnection. Such as ICQ,AIM, Teamspeak, Skype etc... That worked for me... at least for 3-4 hours.

And now a real smart question for the Crytek Staff:
Didnt you guys already had a working mutliplayercode for PC????
Crysis 1 worked and Wars worked even better! ( At least no one got kicked for no reason or couldnt connect at all, at least ive never had problems like that) So was it due to the console development that you guys had to throw a working multiplayerconcept/script/whatever into the trash and give us a new and non working one? That would really be interesting to hear..

I dont think that when you close your skype, icq etc. you'll change anything.

Yesterday I read about Crytek making some changes in their anti-cheat system and I just wonder: If they check the FOV params (cl_fov) for people having something more than original 55 they are dumbest company in the world.

If fov 75 makes me cheater then Im gonna buy this time not a game but a ticket for a airplane, gonna find this crytek company and plan there a C4 and they're gonna have a real crysis :D

// last one was joke :P But hey, Hope Im wrong! It would be reaaaaaally funny: everybody are checking their internet settings, routers etc. and the server kicks because of "to high" fov :D I really hope Im wrong at this guys! But what else can mean: nub_destroyed? I think thats something related to cheats....

This is starting to remind me of Alien VS Predator. The game was really good IMO, but the online MP died because the devs didnt fix all the issues quick enough to please the gamers so it died pretty soon after release.

its been 24 hours and im already sick of the game.

*Bump*

ANY news on this Crysis? Its a complete joke - tonnes of reports of the game not working how it should and not even a developer looking into to say "We are aware, looking for a fix" *our bad, here have a refund*

Ok the last bit may be overly hopefuly... but come on - We are technically paying your salaries by buying the products so give us something worth the money! Ie - It works first time!

Games years ago came out working perfectly (maybe one or two balance patches, but that was before the age of beta's) - What is going on here? Why is it now acceptable to give a "half cooked" game to us? Fixing it as you go along? I certainly would not eat a half cooked meal with out sending it back to be finished first...
