My character's name is the same as my real life German Shepherd dog... Blackie 88 ( after the most fearsome weapon of WWII, the German 88mm anti aircraft gun). My real life other dog is named Dogmeat, after my loyal companion in the Capitol Wasteland. I like dogs.

I was going to do what I've done for all previous Fallout games, and call myself "James". That idea hit a snag in the first fifteen seconds. I don't care if he is voiced by Liam Neeson, I am not going to be named after my dad.

Name: Pillow.
It's the first name i used in the game, and i'm still playing. The name has no meaning at all, I picked it randomly.
Then i forgot about it since tha name isnt displayed a lot during the game, until I was attacked by the talon company guys. i found the note saying; private contract: Kill Pillow!
I was wtf..where did i heard that name? I was confused and wondering who the hell pillow was and or if i should look for a sleeping pillow or something..

xD turned out it was the same as my character's

My FO3 character's name is Mike Wolfletter. A very nice, firm American name.

I think New Vegas, I'll play as a relative of Wolfletter by pretending James had a brother we don't know about at all.

And no, I don't care if you think this idea svcks. I'm using it. :P

I'm named after my pet too ;)
Because it made me giggle to think of "Fuzzbit"
running around the wasteland killing things

Jameson for the character who looks like me (because that is what the guy at the coffee shop thought my name was, even though it isn't)

Duncan, Damon, and Devin for the identical characters I tried to play in "hardcoe mode" (quit playing after they died)

Liam for the evil cannibal drug addict playthrough I can't stomach enough to finish (after his father's voice actor)

Lily for the neutral playthrough I got bored and couldn't finish (because melee turned out to be pretty boring in this game)

Felix for the neutral playthrough I just started

MY evil character happens to be named Goat after my nickname and the G.o.a.t Exam in the game and the funny thing about that is my character is suppose to be a pedicurist. Me and my friend are still laughing at that.

My nuetral, bad-ass guy is named Raynor Wolfe. I made it a point to make him not look like me.

My female character is Valiri like all of the female characters in all of my other video games. Roleplaying with her doesn't really fit into the fallout universe though. She's too nice.

On a sidenote: Does James (Dad) have a last name? It would stand to reason that your character would have the same last name if he does.

"Commodore" Jack Coonley: A pistol twirling, gun slinging mad man, who has a pension for scarring up woman folk and cheating at cards, hes backed up by his trusty com-padre Jericho. Looks kind of like Gary Cooper

Richard "dike" Mantis: My quintessential noir alcohol driven private eye. He looks like Sterling Hayden

"Old Bone Tooth": The wily hermit prospector-esque survivalist. Looks like Lee Marvin in Paint Your Wagon

Xarnac The Conqueror AKA "The Scourge of Betelguese": My titular character is inspired by an alien Orson Welles with an orange tan (Since hes from the Betelguese System) and a blue pompadour.

Dr. Strangeglove: An eccentric scientist who strives for results, foregoing ethics and danger in the process. A neo-noir Frankenstein? Looks like Vincent Price

Dominic The Whale AKA Nicky Pork Chops: A stereotypical mobster, cold and calculating. A sociopath degenerate gambler, who has more bastard sons than Zeus. He looks Like Edward G. Robinson

Edgar Lumis: A drug addicted thieving scumbag, who's only motivation is a quick fix. His demeanor gets him into lots of trouble that his quick tongue gets him out of. He would be more dangerous if he wasn't such a coward. looks like Peter Lorre

My currant character is called Judas. He found a bible and turned into a religious nut-job. He blames the sins of man for the destruction of the world, and so is hell bent on destroying all evil-doers who will not repent in the eyes of God.

Hehe, me too is playing a religious nutcase atm. He believes that The Deeeeeevil was behind the war, and that ghouls are trying to take over the world. His name is Ruth Eversen. It's a female name, but it suits him well.

First character was named Bob

Bob got whacked to death by an angry super mutant with a big stick.

Then there was Mariell, whom turned into a spychopathic [censored], a destroyer of the wasteland that died during the attack on the purifier because she forgot the code when she entered the chamber and the entire thing blew up.

And then there was Ashes, a would-be evil-doer that turned into a colourful regulator. Stopped the Enclave, blew up their Airport and lived happily all his days until he died of cancer.

I always like to put full names on this game, not sure why.

Jayne Mead

John F. Locke (was a LOST fan)

Frank 'Tank' Ricard (an Old School reference)

I have a few for NV.

My Fallout 3 Names

Xavier- My first character. I found the name too common for character names and that was the last time I used it.

Mr Axe- My first melee based character, naturally ^_^.

Salem- This is a name I took a liking to and I'm using it on my character I started, to pass time for FO:NV to come out.

Pluto- This was the name of my evil character.

Mohorovi?i? (Moe - Hoe - Roe - Vee - Chee)- This is my favorite foreign name I like to use on my characters occasionally. It is inspired by the http://geology.com/articles/mohorovicic-discontinuity.shtml It's something I learned in my Earth System Science class. I look a liking to it.

Harrison- Explained in the next name.

Sloan- There's two brothers that go to my school that go by "Harrison & Sloan", I just kind of like them.

Considerable Fallout New Vegas Names

Chip- I know a police officer named Chip; decent name. It also fits in because of you know, poker chips.

Moho- It's short for "Mohorovi?i?" and also fits because of the Mojave. Moho, Mojave. See the likeness? ^_^

I've considered using a name that has a weapon of the same name. I sure bet you get a kick out of using Wild Bill's Sidearm.

One of the most fun characters I’ve played was a melee/explosives build, named Goryia Stunhem. She was an evil, man-hating, ex-stripper, with a “thing” for female raiders.

My main character's name is Max Stone, named after one of the pre-built characters you could choose in Fallout 1. I always hate naming characters because naming characters after yourself is weird, yet I'm not one who likes to make up names. My next character is going to be named http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueDjiAm5rzE, after a character from the greatest TV show of all-time, The Wire. A man with a trench coat and sawed-off shotgun who robs drug dealers? Sounds perfect for Fallout 3.

Hah! What a coincidence. (Btw: Monty Python and the Life of Brian is a great movie)

Hey, Babe Ruth is the most manly American ever, but is there anything not feminine about the name Babe Ruth.
