Mine absolutely has to be the side character badass's the kenpachi zaraki the Shizuo Heiwajima or the Gildarts Clive of the anime world. There unnaturaly strong even with out there respective magic power and the crazier personality the better! So what would be your favorite character type in anime?

The sinister evil guy that usually wears a business suit and can chop people's heads off with his hands doing a karate chop and usually raqes his victims just to show how evil he actually is, and probably has demon blood or something.

Pure and honest, with a strong sense of responsibility.

Thinking about all my favorite characters from various series (Ed Elric, Van Hohenheim, Ishida, Rukia Kuchiki, Freed Justine, Juvia Lockster, Yamuraiha, Sasha "Potato Girl" Braus, ) I can find no common thread linking them other then most are side characters?

That is a great question. I've always beena fan of the goofballs and the psychopaths.

I also like the "wise man" kind of characters.

Think that's about it. Under Psychos, I also count the times when certain characters snap and go bonkers for a while, always fun.

I really have no preference when it comes to anime. It's a pretty darn diverse category.

Yeh, I could go with this. I like guys who do evil things to fight evil. They walk that line that is so fine that you're pretty sure they cross over it many times, but in the end what they did was good.

Intellectual perverted women

I like sympathetic bad guys and good guys who at first seem like bad guys. Those are interesting. But one of my favorites is Batou in Ghost in the Shell, and he's a sympathetic good guy

Sesshomaru...the strong, silent ones that will kill you without blinking yet aren't really the "bad guy". The guy is a ruthless demon who cuts down all in his path yet shows kindness to a small human girl.

I suppose any kind of intriguing, well-rounded character will do.

But if you were to put a cannon to my head, then I would say that my absolute favorite type of anime character would be big brawny guys who wield enormous swords, fight demons, specters, entire armies, and other nigh unstoppable forces singlehandedly, are far more intelligent and cunning than you'd expect, refuse to back down no matter how impossible the odds are, and unknowingly attract amorous attention from the ladies, the guys, the demonic, and little girls.
