Your favorite book in the TES series?

While adventuring through the world of Skyrim I came across a great book, but I forgot its name. The story starts with 3 men at a bar and one guy is kind of depressed and down so the other tells him a story of an archer that never missed his target. He was the best archer around and no matter how far away his target was he never missed.

He is called upon to kill a daedric lord, don't know his name either. So he spots the daedric lord and aims and shoots his arrow towards the daedric lord, but before the arrow hits its target, the daedric lord dissapeared and the arrow hit a tree.

The archer never used a bow again and became a hermit.

But years later the daedric lord was summoned at a shrine of his and he ran inside of the shrine and the wooden door shut and the arrow hit the daedric lord after all, because the tree that the archer hit years before was used in constructing the door.

I liked that story a lot, what is your favorite story?

The Tale of Dro'Zira. Really brings a fun perspective of how the khajiit's were involved in the Battle at Red Mountain, and what this could mean about other events where khajiits could be involved in but not mentioned. Though the author was intaking a lot of moonsuger.

The 36 Lessons of Vivec. Every time I read a single sermon, I get a sense of wonder and sparks of creativity. Reading them all in one sitting makes me feel like I have my role in Mundus figured out (and a sense of duty to kill Vivec out of love.)

Also, I love the http://www.imperial-library.info/content/worn-and-weathered-note found in Morrowind. It speaks to me.

Chance's Folly was one of my favorites since Morrowind, and Red Kitchen Reader is great and chilling, a true testament to subtly bringing the written world together with the playable world.

2920 is also a great read, but the end is pretty sad. I'm also a big fan of the Hallgerd, Xiomara, and Garaz stories. They have that fun Canterbury Tales feel to them.

2920 series probably... I like the Wolf queen as well, the Real Barenziah also has good moments... Actually most book series that force me to hunt down the next chapter because I want them all.

I'm sure you'll like the Songs of Return...lots of elf slaughtering in it (which means I don't like it, but tastes vary ;) ). I don't think the set is complete though which is a disappointment since there seems to be some good bits missing.

My favorite is A Dance in Fire, but there are a lot of books in TES that I like. The lore in these games is actually fun to read.

I'm a fan of Palla. It's like the necromancy-redguard version of The Graduate (dustin hoffman).

The archer never used a bow again and became a hermit.

But years later the daedric lord was summoned at a shrine of his and he ran inside of the shrine and the wooden door shut and the arrow hit the daedric lord after all, because the tree that the archer hit years before was used in constructing the door.

That's probably http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Vernaccus_and_Bourlor. The man always hit his mark; bummer that the archer died in shame, as far as I could tell

Although they were never ingame AFAIK, the seven flights of the Aldudagga are amazing. They're how Skyrim should have felt: Epic, Funny, and very Nordic.

Lusty Argonian maid

While the 36 teachings of Vivec pull us into the game world and mess around with the "fourth wall," this book does quite the opposite, and that's why its my favourite.

There are two tabs on my iPhone's safari app that never go away, both links to the imperial library: the 36 Lessons and Shor Son of Shor. That said, 2920 is a great read.

I like any book that features Khajiit-lore, however small, such as Ahzirr Trajijazaeri. Beside those, I like Breathing Water and The Doors of Oblivion, just from the top of my head.

I absolutely love a Dance in Fire; Decumus Scotti's adventures throughout dangerous, xenophobic and apathetic Valenwood really color my imagination.

Finished reading "The Song of Return" series. I love the story structure there, felt like I was reading an ancient Greek epic. I just don't like how it's such a short book series :( . The Song of Pelinal still ranks as my #1, followed by the 36 Lessons of Vivec, and The Song of Return as my #3.

I have read Fool's Ebony in Morrowind, and that was a little humorous. Found Begger, Thief, Warrior, and King, and that wasn't a bad series.

The 36 Lessons have to take it. There is nothing even vaguely like it in gaming's history. Here are some others:

and last but not least

Oh the hours spent in my study in Balmora trying to work out what Egg of Time meant.

While some obviously enjoy the heavier mythological and metaphysical texts I have come to be quite fond a rather plain play named "http://www.imperial-library.info/content/hypothetical-treachery".

Yeah, songs of the return was interesting. I just wish they hadn't got my hopes up when I found volume 56 for the first time.

That was a fun story. It reminds me of those (old) kung fu films. The martial artists stand opposed and talk for several minutes, proclaiming every single poorly-translated move they might take, like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=520mME1J30w

Yeah I felt the same, I thought Bethesda might have been about to top the 36 Lessons, maybe we'll get some more via DLC.
