Lily. The way "she" swings her sword and annihilates my enemies... it is a sight to behold.
Haven't really bothered with observing her ranged skill, she's a melee master.

Craig Boone, almost due to my lack of interest in the others.

Boone is a sniper and fits my play style, and he is ex-military so doesn't seem to be a person you've gotta babysit.

I don't like Cass b/c she is a bit too rough in language for my tastes.
Veronica is alright, but i'm not much on having an unarmed companion and i dnt believe she levels with me
Rex...ehh i didn't like dogmeat all that much and this one looks funny

Arcade - haven't come across him, but i can tell he's not my type of companion.
The ghoul - well i did consider this, and may pick him up on another play through

I love Boone aswell, i had shut myself away from all the news pre release and i just stumbled upon his story, and then when he offered to join up i couldnt resist, hes awesome and hes been with me since (except when i went to Legion camp .

I've only gotten Boone and Rex but gameplay wise i prefer Boone because he's a kick-ass sniper and at lower levels he's like your bodyguard (plus i like his beret), hes a little over-powered though when he just takes out every enemy that comes near you. I had to give up Boone when i had the glitch where he loses his rifle and you can't give it back to him when you leave a casino, does anyone know how to fix this? Anyway i prefer Rex character-wise because i just love dogs as companions, he isnt worth much in combat though.

I really like Cass. She is great. Her weapon isnt great against some opponents, but she still manages to kill plenty. I keep upgraded weapons and ammo in her inventory though, so she does fine.

What I really like most about her is her personality and back-story. She is a talker, for sure. Because of her back story, it brings a tear to my eye sometimes when she says "We're a caravan of two, now." *sniff*

I've only run into Boone, Veronica and Rex, so I don't know who this Cas fella is. I'm starting my second playthrough today so I'll do a bit more exploring.

So far my favorite was Veronica. When I found her at the time, I was with Boone who was killing everything. Later on in the game when I got bored with him, I picked up Veronica and gave her a unique powerfist called Pushy

She was a beast with it. She was one hitting Cazadors and the like. The reason I like Veronica so much is because of her personality. Aside from http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sierra_Petrovita in Fallout 3, Veronica is one of the quirkiest characters I've come into contact with. I recently found out that she was voiced by Felicia Day, some sort of internet personality or famous nerd or something of that caliber. She did a better job than Matthew Perry, lets put it that way..

Boone annoys me, he's handy in fights, yeah, possibly the best backup you could ask for, but annoying as hell with his overly stoic, tightass attitude and his weird relationship with his hat. I keep him handy, however. Clearing up a legion base from a safe distance is a lot more fast with him.

The robo-dog is dead in my game, I'm pretty sure I shot him, but when trying to get to that mutant town, for him, I had to reload several times because he got offed by fiends, casadors, giant ants and something else. That dog can use some mounted lasers or something cause he's crap in close fights. I let him stay dead cause he's a waste of time. I assume because he takes most hits in the head given his form.

E-DE they spybot is ok, I keep it with me for the perk, plus the laser backup isn't bad, better than what the dog brings at least.

Grandma I just used for laughs. Pretty funny to see a monster dressed up like an old lady shooting a minigun or other big weapons. Still not my cup of tea, in melee she''s kind of annoying cause she's so big.

Veronica, meh. She wanted to punch things, so I let her. She punched a deathclaw who punched back. She is also dead. I didn't bother reloading. Her witty cheerleader attitude loses it's charm fast.

I know there's a doctor or something, haven't seen him yet.

Raul, I love his pessimist remarks. And I grin every time he say "Maybe they just went home... eh boss?", I can't help it. Not that great in fights but damn I enjoy having him around.

Cass is #1 on my list. She's pretty decent with the modded cowboy rifle I gave her. But I love her comments and attitude. My favorite companion by far. Plus I've never seen her die, and she's the companion I used the most, dragged her through landmines, deathclaw hunts, she never died.

I love travelling with Boone, and this coming form someone who kept No followers in Fallout3. For some reason its just better this time, probably a mix of the companion wheel and other aspects, but Boone is THE MAN!

There are times in big battles where the game will switch to the death scene on some moster that was about to wack me, for which Boone took out before I even saw them coming.

The legion has No chance.

I have not yet used Lily, Arcade, Raul or Veronica, but thus far Cass is my favourite. I love ED-E as well. Rex just feels a little off, or something. Always the feeling like he isn't really your dog.
I found Boone plain boring though. Everytime you say something starting with "Tell me about..." or "Can I ask you..." he answers with something along the lines of "No. Change the subject." Yeah, real friendly and fun. Loser.
Looking forward to Veronica and Lily. Lily seems much more fun than Fawkes (hated that guy) and Veronica seems just sweet, like Cass. I'm also very much looking forward to seeing Veronica punching someone in the face with her Power Fist. Arcade seems totally misplaced, I understand they created him for Van Buren, but his presence in New Vegas seems very much out of place and artificial.
And finally Raul. Dunno, just looks boring. Not really fond of Ghouls, too. But I'm open-minded to change my opinion when I recruit him.

I picked Veronica but man you can't go wrong with Cass I love her dialog :rofl:

When sneaking: "Shhh! We're hunting [censored]heads..." Haha I love Cass.

The only two companions I haven't grabbed yet are Lily and Raul, and I've left Rex with The King until I bother making my way to Jacobstown.
How I'm rating everyone else at the moment (from worst to best):

Cass - She doesn't bring much to the table. When I get back to doing her quest I'll give her a better weapon. I'm pretty bitter that I can't nab her clothes either. Such a pretty shirt...

Arcade - He's a better fighter than I expected and I love the Better Healing perk. His remarks are annoying though. Sneak mode - "Ok--ay... I'll try my best." THEN. DON'T. TALK.

ED-E - He ties with Veronica. Cute team mascot who boops and beeps and plays music when getting into a fight. Preferred his look prior to getting tinkered with by the Brotherhood but at least now he's less squishy.

Veronica - Cute, quirky and has a convenient perk. If I find myself having a difficult time handling a group of enemies, I can just stand back and watch her Falcon Punch everything. Plus she's a lisbian Felicia Day. That's always a good thing.

Boone - He's a badass ex-military sniper who kills everything on sight after swearing revenge on the people who were (kind of) responsible for the deaths of his wife and unborn child, all while remaining stoic and detached. Swoon. :dead:
Minus points for having a funny shaped head.

I'd say ED-E and Veronica.

ED-E is a cute floating ball armed with a tiny laser which allows you to snipe everything.

Veronica is an adorable girl who can powerfist anything in her paths and her responses are a barrel of laughs.

Definitely Rose of Sharon. She of all the Companions I met so far (haven't meet Lily, Raul, or the Scientist).

Cass. I just love her backstory. Close second is ED-E, cause he's awesome

Veronica and ED-E those are the only companions i have played with , but they are awesome companions. I forgot how many time she saved my a** with her power fist, she really just pwnz every one...

Veronica as she is (in a Lara Croft way!) cute, or Boone as he kills things for me!

I haven't found them all yet!

I love Boone's spotter perk (I play a sniper), but I am trying not to annoy the Legion just yet so he'll have to wait until later to wreak vengeance on them. Also he doesn't have much to say for himself, which is understandable and part of his character, but I like a companion to make the occasional comment whilst on the road.

I like Veronica's character and comments, but she's not a good combat mix with my sniper - I start picking off enemies from a distance and before I know it she's running across my sights to get into the fray, I accidentally shot her a couple of times.

So far I like Cass best, although I'm not finding her perk much help!

3. He can snipe a mile away! Dang awesome sniping skills

5. Spotter perk is perfect for my sniper!

ED-E for me, very useful as a floating suitcase.

I picked Boone. He's a total badass and completely wrecks with the sniper rifle.

Does anyone actually "like" Boone? All I see is everyone liking him because he kills stuff. If you're having trouble playing you can just lower the difficulty, no need to recruit someone to fight for you. Same with FO3, a load of people seemed to like Fawkes just because he was immortal. I choose my companions on characters, I don't care how well they can fight.
