I imagine there's been quite a few threads like this in the past but by now they're all lost in Oblivion. What's your favorite race? I'd have to say I really like Orcs and Dunmer. :tes:

In Oblivion Altmer. There weaknesses to magic makes them fun to play.

Well, I can't choose my favourite, cuz it depends on what I wanna be, if I wanna be a mage, then I choose the Breton, if I wanna be a warrior, then I choose either the Orc, the Imperial or the Redguard.. If I wanna be a stealth/thief type, then I either choose the Argonian or the Wood Elf.. Or if I just wanna be a marksman type, then I choose the Wood Elf.

See? It's kinda hard for me to choose a favourite..

Breton. I nearly always play magic orientated characters and they suit that type most.

Dunmer. I personally think that they have the best history and culture. I thought that the Tribunal in Morrowind were excellent. I also tend to play thieves and assassins and Dunmer just fit the bill. :flamed:

Argonian: Because its a unique race...no other game series has something even close to the The Argonian.... :biggrin:

Altmer. They are tall, wise, slow, and frail to elemental attacks. First of all, I do like being tall. Begin wise just doesnt... Seem like me, but whatever. They are really slow. That makes them good for me to set a goal speed to reach. They are frail to elemental attacks, but I barely notice that. That maybe was because of the shockbathe gauntlets and the Firewalk Cuirass... Nevermind.

My favorite is always the latest that I'm using, and right now I'm creating my own Infernal race that has red skin, Dremora's horns, cloven hooves from a Minotaur and is immune to fire. Can't post a picture, because all she wears is tattoos and piercings. Oh, and she carries a "Pitchfork of Fireballs" derived from the standard farm mesh converted to a staff weapon.

Not a released mod yet, as my next favorite will be her "angelic" counterpart, and I'm planning a two-for-one companion mod that will feature both, offering conflicting advice in their usual way.

Redguards. Not only are they the best Warrior race (which is my favorite combat style) but they're also just awesome people. I've never met a Redguard I didn't like.

Another vote for the Altmer, and another vote for the value of playing a race with in-built weaknesses, going necromancer and conjurer hunting just doesn't feel dangerous as a Breton. And don't forget the pointy ears.

Breton. I play Warriors mostly and Bretons are the best race for Warriors.

My favourite race ovverall is definitely Dunmer. I love everything about them. The Lore, everything. They embody badassness.

However, my favourite character in Oblivion is a Breton, and due to Helena I have a soft spot for them. Even if I do have to take The Apprentice to make them less overpowered (in my opinion).

After Dunmer and Breton, I like Bosmer and Altmer equally. Followed by Nords, Argonian/Khajiit (tied). The rest I have no preference for.

I like Imperial but their stats aren't the best.
