When I first heard the Oblivion theme for the first time, I thought "wowwee what a ripoff of Morrowind's". Over time I've grown to appreciate the subtleties of the Oblivion main theme, but I still will never ever forget my first impression. It was such a sticking point.

Edit:

I think the many midi songs of Daggerfall deserve some recognition. The shop song is something engraved into my brain because I played that game so much as a child. There were some awesome dungeon tunes as well. Also the Hammerfall regions had great music that really was reminiscent of a hot, desert region.

Morrowind, mainly because I haven't heard a clear, full version of Skyrims yet so I'm not including it. Oblivions sounds like a mix between Morrowind and Pirates of the Caribbean, though I do prefer it's in-game music.

I personally like Oblivions theme a lot but I choose Morrowind's theme because I liked it far more and it is far better. Also the Nostalgia factor! :D

I fail to see how Oblivion's is a ripoff of Morrowinds theme. I thought "Yay Pirates of The Elder Scrolls" when I heard it. :P

In order I put :

Skyrim
Morrowind
Oblivion

But all retain something of the first Morrowind wich was really really nice , magical feeling , mistery , and unique ....
Oblivion theme instead seemed different but somehow trying to repeat and retake the morrowind style but somehow failed to replace it and morrowind still sounded nicer ...
The Skyrim theme feels a lot , really a lot more powerfull , gives impression of strenght , barbaricism and coolness still taking a bit from morrowind theme , well done ...

It's a toss up between Morrowind's and Skyrim's.

I don't think the music in the trailer will be the main song. The chanting is cool, but I don't know it doesn't fit with elder scrolls. Perfect for the trailer though.

I love both Morrowind and Oblivion's title themes. While I too voted for Morrowind, I'm a little sad to see Oblivion not getting any love from the community. I think Oblivion's theme captures an epic, imperial tone, which is suitable given the game's subject matter. Morrowind however evokes a feeling of wonder and exploration. It's quite a beautiful piece of music.

i see it all the time on youtube

For the king.
For the king
For the sake of Skyrim.
For our life;For our home.
For Hglothor's blood.
For the nords; For the gods.
For the sole single son.
Dvohakin, our king, who'll rise with fire.
i think i spelled some stuff wrong.

This. :lmao: But I love all three, how they weave and vary the same recognizable theme on the general feel of each game.

Oblivion's. Epic.

In actuality, I think all are pretty spectacular. And each does an excellent job at setting the tone of the game.
