It was during the first run through of Fallout 3, I came out of the Vault, had been running around Megaton a bit, including the bridge with raiders and got some weapons and such. So finally decided to go to Megaton and went to Moriarty to speak about father. I wasn't totally familiar with controls yet and sort of missed the fact that I had my weapon drawn still. So I approach Moriarty and, out of habit, left click on him to speak with him. Well, weapon drawn + left click + "lucky critical" and mr. Moriarty's head splatters! Whoops! Now Megaton people may not like him too much but I guess they didn't exactly expect that some random person one day, in broad daylight, just walks up to him and blows him away just like that. Needless to say big firefight ensued, I ran out of the bar and more Megaton people joined, I screamed - while shooting back - "I come in peace!" but they didn't believe it for some reason. Well, it all ended when one especially poor and ragged looking fellow suddenly whipped a combat shotgun out of his rags and blew me away.
I laughed for a while about this, especially when I remembered how in Fallout Tactics I at some point was also supposed to meet some tribals for negotiations and I approached their chief and accidentally right clicked my mouse while having the chief targeted, however this action in the game meant "force fire". And so my guy, under the guise of negotiations, with his minigun drawn, made one shot and that totally obliterated that chief and all of his companions. I was then too like "Whoops! I'm sorry, this is not what I meant, I just wanted to talk to you, honest!".
Ah well, accidents happen, good thing I had saved the game before that, just in case.
