There's quite a few more but I don't want to be doing this forever. I don't really like guitarists for riffs, but more or less for sound, speed and technique. I also like a good shredding solo.

Just remembered another one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0sbN1e0zr8 from Muse. Though some of Muse's songs have better solos this one was the 1st one I found :P

Adam Jones from Tool, only because i can't get enough of Tool. their bassist, Justin Chancellor, is pretty good. tone is amazing, but imho their basslines aren't very technical.

not a lot of love for bassists, so i'll throw http://www.youtube.com/results?hl=en&biw=1330&bih=713&q=victor%20wooten&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=w1 into the mix for some funky groovin'.

add Flea from the RHCP, as well as Frusciante, into the mix.

It's a disgrace that this thread has made it to page 3 without anyone mentioning the marvellous http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsZDcpxoV68&playnext=1&list=PL93BD54EC792B40D0. Happens every time this topic comes up. Shame on you all.

I'm not sure of the exact quote, but Jimi Hendrix was once asked what it felt like to be the greatest guitarist in the world, and his reply was "Ask Rory Gallagher".

Everytime this thread comes up, I think you and I are the only people on here who have actually heard of Rory Gallagher. What a fantastic musician. He died far too young.
