Your Favourite NPC?And why?

Post » Tue Apr 05, 2011 1:21 pm

Nah he's just really really pale. It's part of his story as to why (It's Moira's fault<--short version).

Excerpt (I'm sure you guys really care :P ):
"Though I do wonder, which of these is to account for your fairness of skin?" Fawkes figured he might as well just ask since it seemed Kane wasn't shy towards him about anything.

"I'm not sure, exactly. I've always been damned pale, even when in the vault and I know I had no genetic problems then, but I started noticing it getting lighter after Moira's experiment."

Actually, I sometimes have one of these little quotes in my sig (not today.. maybe I should put one in there.. the Deathclaw one is funny).

Why not start some mini-book Fallout episodes on the thread. I'll read em, I'm always bored. You seem to have captured Fawke's personality pretty solidly.
What did Kane do with the Deathclaw anyways? Baby Deathclaw-Killing Midget Vampire? :biglaugh:

Moira was always a damned Nazi.. I was going to post something about her in my list but I couldn't wrap it in spoiler tags. Tragic.

@Why am I always so quick to respond? Am I really that bored?

Ok, to do spoilers it works like this.

You type the word spoiler and put it into brackets []. The you write your spoilery information. Then type /spoiler in brackets [] and your spoilery information should be blacked out. To test it out just preview your post before you actually post it.

spoiler[] blah blah blah /spoiler[]

Like that except the brackets go around the words. If I typed it correctly the blah blah blah would disappear and my directions would be gone. :)

Spoiler
blah blah blah

He kept it until it started getting a bit too large to keep indoors  You know, I could post my little excerpts in the SM writing thread for all to enjoy, laugh at, and probably poke fun at me. Sounds like a good idea!

EDIT: Then, at least, I could have the full text and not the condensed versions to fit in my sig.

EDIT2: Here you go, have fun! I'll post more later. http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1019894&st=40&gopid=15399315&#entry15399315

A really big, disassembled sniper rifle.

Actually he's just small, though it wouldn't surprise me if he had a sniper rifle in there.

Sniper rifle is good. I don't know why, but my first thought was dead body. :o I think I watch too many Mob movies.

Sounds cool! You could call em "Kikaimegami Komics" or something. Has a nice ring to it I think. Haha idk. But that'd be great, good luck on your first episode! :foodndrink:

It has to be Desmond from Point Lookout. I also like all the other ghouls a lot, and when I played through fallout I always sided with them. =)

It depends on what type of character I play - yes, I'm that kind of roleplaying nerd. :D

My current character (who is basically an evolved version of the character I played when I first got Fallout 3, who in turn was an adaption of my favourite character concept in all games of the last ten years, that on the other hand is a blend of my own personality and the kind of person I'd like to be) hasn't been out of the Vault for very long, so she hasn't met too many people yet.

- In the Vault, she liked Old Lady Palmer a lot, because she always told her stories when she babysitted her on the evenings when James had to/wanted to work long (that happened quite often).
- She has respect for Agatha, because she manages to survive alone in the middle of nowhere, despite her age and her loneliness.
- She also likes Manya, because she knows so much about the history of Megaton, manages to stay sane, despite having to put up with Nathan everyday and even though people refer to her when inquired about the latest rumors, Manya doesn't gossip (unlike for example Vera Weatherly, who really annoys my character - mostly because of the way she treats Seagrave Holmes)
- She has fallen in love with Vance the first time she met him. She's not even sure what it is about him, but she can't get him out of her head, despite the fact that his... ahem... diet makes her very uncomfortable. And there's of course also the problem of Holly, but maybe there's a way around that... :ninja:
- One of her favourite people is certainly Seagrave Holmes. He truly cares about Rivet City and is putting a lot of work into the "old girl", despite his sickness and he invents cool stuff (did you know he invented the Railway Rifle?!). She knows about his past dealings with less honorable people, but believes him, that he has put that behind him. Also he has this wonderful dialogue when asked about the history of Rivet City after mentioning that Vera Weatherly spoke highly of him: "She did? Well, I suppose I have picked up a lot over the years. I mean, no one's spent more time tinkering on this old girl than I have! Oh, Rivet City, I mean. Not Vera. I mean, Vera's not old. And I haven't tinkered on her, obviously. Not that I wouldn't... I mean, umm... No."
My character would realy like to bring Seagrave and Moira together, she thinks that would be a match made in heaven.
- Another NPC my character likes a lot is Flak. She can talk shop with him about guns for hours and he always reserves interesting weapons for her (at least she thinks so). Shrapnel on the other hand is someone she doesn't talk to when she can avoid it - and the feeling is mutual. She only goes to their shop, when she knows that Flak is running it.
- Pinkerton is also one of the people she likes and respects. He has a bit of an attitude, but she thinks that is justified, because he really is a very gifted scientist in many fields. She doesn't visit him too often, because she knows he values his seclusion, but they get along very well, when she does. I don't think she'll tell him about her fathers involvement in Project Purity though (when she finds out about that someday), because she doesn't think that their friendship would survive that.
- Daring Dashwood is someone she likes a lot too - I don't think I need to explain why, do I?
- Someone who is not on your list, but is a person my character will care a lot about when she meets him is Bryan Wilks. Because of his story, she'll relate to him and will visit him whenever she's in Rivet City.

She hasn't found Dogmeat yet (not sure if she ever will), but if/when she does, I can imagine she'll like him.
As a teenager, she had a crush on Butch (who hadn't had the slightest interest in her and dated Christine Kendall instead :violin: ), but I'm not sure if she'll still like him, when she meets him again somewhere along the way.

Hm, after reading my list, I notice that my character (who like I said does resemble myself to a certain degree), likes almost only old people and a few middle aged men. And she's fallen in love with a charismatic yet a bit shady and ambiguous cannibal. Should I be worried??

LOL no you shouldn't be worried. :biglaugh: I sure hope I don't resemble any of my my characters, booz drugs, and pays for hokers...

I can't decide which NPC I like best.
Moria is just too cheery and too happy.

You know just because nobody has said this I'm gonna have to go with DAD.

DAD is awesome. He's funny when you shoot him with a BB gun when its your character's birthday.

Dad is the only reason why you go off into the waste.

Spoiler
Dad is fun to talk to when hes a dog.

I mean how could you not like dad, I mean if you didn't like him you know you wouldn't spend all the time looking for him and bothering with
Spoiler
project purity

Dad is a ladies man, just look at his partners who help him with
Spoiler
project purity
. I mean look at how many women he has on his science team.

If I write any more about dad, all these spoilers is going to make this thread look like a top secret government report.

Mine would probably be Moira just because she isn't complaining a lot; she's always happy and is positive and she is trying to benefit the people of the Wastes - In my book that makes her a good person.

Elder Lyons?

He's not bad. I gained some respect for him during this playthrough, didn't like him that much before

Tulip

Actually, she'd be my second choice, so you're right in a way :)
My amazing skills in reading the mind tells it's Harkness.

No mind reading necessary, but sig reading usually states the obvious :P

Did you pull that one out of thin air?
No, not him, I try very hard not to kill him every time I visit Megaton. I mezzed him once and that made him shut up, oddly. Whether it was because of a mod, that allowed everyone to be mezzed or if that always happens, I don't remember. I was just happy for the silence :)
