I want to do an ice spike / magic shield combo

Assuming we can use a shield spell like blocking, in a channeled state.

I'm going to play a magic assassin. Pure magic for face-up fights, but also develop skills with the dagger and bow for quiet backstabs and sniper kills.

Right now I can't decide on race. I played a breton and a dark elf for oblivion. I can't decide between nord, high elf, khajit, or redguard for skyrim.

Well I hope that inability to block with spell&sword is misinformation, cause that's my main style. I'll also switch to dual-wielding two longswords and dual-wielding spells depending on the situation.

I will be the bane to my enemies. I shall kill them without them ever knowing I was there.

The BulletArrow you'll never see.

I will adapt to my situation. I will be equipped with Stealth Equipment; 2 Daggers, a Bow and, some arrows. Light but usable combat equipment; Dual Short Swords or a Long Sword/Short Sword Combo and light armor. And I will have magic to use when need be

Dual daggers, flamethrower hands, 'nuff said.
Edit: and a few sheild spells in case I need to block attacks.

In open space I'd use some bow for the first hits with poison applied, and if it ain't enough, dual swords (the biggest swords that can be dual weilded).

Switching between 2 swords and sword-n-magick.

Hopefully acrobatics will be useful, and there's going to be a perk that let's you dodge like you could in Oblivion. If so, I'll greatly rely on it and I will jump over enemies attacking them from behind.

Dual shields.

Lots of running away.

Mine will be the most passive character ever.

The best spell I made was drain health 100pts for 1 second on touch. Very easy to use and kills basically all enemies straight dead. When you have more majicka I created a spell called Death field. Which was the same but with a higher area. A good spell to use when hordes of enemies are running at you and all you need to do is raise your hand and they all die instantly.

Haha. Yeah, I have a spell named "Bane" that drains 100 health for 10 seconds on target. It's beastly, but I rarely use it.

I usually pepper my enemies form a far with arrows to weaken them, and then move in with sword and shield. However with the addition of duel wielding I don't know if I'm going to keep that fighting style as is. I might just have to become a duel welder

1st Character: For my first play through I always create a custom class I've named the "Traveling Scholar." I usually make a breton, and give him skills with a short sword and defensive/useful magic to help in adventuring. For skyrim I'll use a short sword and magic, (probably paralyze), with an emphasis on speed and agility, especially since they've nerfed backpedaling.

2nd Character: A battlemage wielding a sword and destruction magic, and maybe a few defensive spells. This class is all about bloodshed, being an a-hole, and saving the day. I just don't like being the bad guys in video games. The closest I get is being an anti hero.

That's the best description of a battlemage I've ever heard.

To dish out damage, I will open with a bow and end combat with a shield & axe. :P To avoid taking excess damage, I'll focus on being fast and agile.

Sword...Sheild...Bow... Mayhem.... then the next go round i'll try a double handed sword guy with a side of magic and a low defense.

^ This. Also "flee" is a combat tactic in my book.

LOL

They are giving us an aweful lot in this game and it makes me nervous. I think there is gonna be a lot of strategic retreats coming up for me, especially when facing a dragon.

i like my characters to be powerful in everything. typically though i play as a powerful battlemage. I mostly use my sword and wear heavy armor while casting powerful spells to help finish off enemies.. though i might have to try out a rogue character with dual weapons and a bow

Slow and stealthy all the way. I much prefer the bow and am hoping that the rugged terrain and long sight lines will provide many opportunities for sticking many arrows into large, slow moving, metal covered targets! If the game mechanics allow it I'm planning on staying off of the paths and trails so as to avoid sudden unexpected encounters at close range. where waving a bow around will just get me killed.

I like the way you think, thats the way I play most games, off the beaten path. The melee with a bow shouldn't be to bad in skyrim though. I just hope the arrows aren't OP'd. Nuclear arrows ftl. :nuke:

Your spell reminds me of the heart-attack spell on the wiki. Pretty much drain and damage health and fatigue on touch. Awesome.
