Shattered-Claw, Argonian Bounty Hunter (Stealth/Combat). He's come to Skyrim to collect a bounty that was put on a certian guy by another certain guy in Cyrodiil. Unfortunatly, he seems to have inherited the curse that his greatest ancestor (Broken-Scale, who was also a Bounty Hunter), had: an unfortunate tendancy to get mistaken for a criminal, put in jail, then mistaken for some type of great hero, like those of children's stories. He has no interest in becoming a "Dragonborn". He just wants to explore Skyrim, help some people, punish others, and hopefully make some cash along the way. While he's generally a fairly nice guy, he has a darker, more violent side, especially when in comes to certain criminals (rapists, child-killers, or pedophiles).

I go for aesthetics so it depends which face preset I find the most appealing, I'm assuming of course there will be face presets (please god let there be), and if I like the player voice.

I would have always been a wood elf in Oblivion but for the god awful voice, so I'll lean toward a wood elf because I like a sneaky archer type. But given this is Skyrim and it's got a really cool barbarian thing going on I might be a nord. They can still be sneaky archers can't they?

Does anyone know about the face presets? Heard anything?

In past Elder Scrolls game I have always been the traditional Marksman-Assassin. In Skyrim I am trying to branch out from that. This time around I am gonig to focus less on Marksman and more towards being able to eviscerate enemies in close combat without them ever knowing I am there. I will choose a Nord because they are good Warriors and can be adapted towards a Combat/Stealth character. I will focus mainly on dual wielding blades, using them to master close combat. If needed I can start, or end, a battle with my bow.

My Class Setup as of now is:

Race: Nord
Sign: I do not know yet (One similar to The Thief in Oblivion)
Skills: One-hand weapons, Light Armor, Marksman, Illusion, Block, Sneak, Enchanting or Alteration depending on what I need.
(^Assuming we have 7 skills again^)

RPGs and other open games like this, I ALWAYS start a new character every chance I get that way I get the most out of it as possible. So my first playthrough probably wont last for longer than a half of a day, if that. But here we go:

Race- I usually start off with one of these 3, Orc, Dunmer or Nord. But I voted Orc
Focus- I dont know, do everything that I can before I start a new character. During this time, ill probably just explore and wander for awhile
Archetype- Combat. I pity those who cower to fight
Alignment- Depends

I think how it's going to be now, is that you choose your race, gender and name, and they throw you in the world, pretty much to develop you're skills how you wish, not with "preset" skills. Like, if you want to use a shield and level that skill, use a shield and level that skill. And, as far as signs go, you get "perks" like in the Fallout series that decide your signs. I don't know if it's ever level,[I.e Fallout 3] or every other level,[I.e Fallout: New Vegas], but the perk system was confirmed. And, another cool thing, as you have a map of all of Skyrim, you can also view the constellations from a menu[or in actual game time] and the certain perks you choose, will actually light up certain constellations.

Hmmm, probably a Breton, because... well... he's British. Not that nationality extends to ethnicity, racial identity, genetic background, et cetera. I'm pretty sure Philip is a masculine name, so, male. Stealth-magic hybrid. Emphasis on hiding and praying nothing finds him and tears into his tender, succulent flesh. Hmmmmmm... sorry, what... what was I saying? Oh, neutral. Definitely confused, but a nice guy all around.

Still, the part of me that isn't a masochist wants to start the game with my classic ranged stealth specialist. I'll know for sure when I have the game in my hands, I suppose.

Race: Imperial
Focus: Main Quest
Archetype: not sure yet probably a Demon Hunter inspired set up.
Naughty or Nice: I don't know yet, I'll go through and pick the decisions I would do and the world we'll judge that, but when I did that in Fallout 3 I came out with good karma so he'll probably be good.

A chaotic good Argonian sorceress/rogue hybrid with the intentions of seeing the world. My main reason for this being my first character is tradition. Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion have all held this same basic character; It'd be heresy to break the tradition now. Also, I'd like to think they're all of a single bloodline, the hero's gene popping up every so often.

Im going to play as a nord that crushes the skull of anything larger than his battle axe, and just stomps the rest to death, including those wood elves and bretons, especially the bretons.

My First Char. for any game that allows char. creation is always Jack. Jack is -the- sterotype hero, any sterotype, he is it (the knight kneeling with a shield in front of him and a sword held behind, facing a dragon, the lone knight on a hill, his helm held at his side, staring off into the distence, the mesterious man with no past, the weary Pistol-carrying traveler, etc etc). Then I get into making more unique chars., but first, it must be Jack.

Obviously this is tentative based an the information to come before release, but I plan on playing a Nord, mostly combat. Probably a dual wielding barbarian style toon.
As for what I'll do first, just explore a bit and then start quests as I come along them. Which ever ones seem intriguing.

Race: Dunmer

Main Focus: Stealing EVERYTHING, Hunting dragons and completing Faction quest lines. Kinda of a three-way deal here. I voted stealing everything though because that's what I do with my time a lot.

Archetype: Mix of Combat and Stealth

Naughty or Nice: Mostly naughty, but with a good side!

Figures that the ONE area that I'm not sure in (character's race) is the one area that doesn't have the "I'm not sure" option :P

I chose Bosmer, simply because I like Wood Elves and they kinda fit the idea I have of my character. But Dark Elves and Redguards will be in the mix as well me-thinks.

Considering that we don't know exactly what the skill list is, and we don't know exactly how the leveling system works, and how many skills you can truly focus on for your character, it's hard to say exactly what my character is going to be, but I certainly have the foundation set. It's going to be a very similar character to what I have been playing already in Morrowind and Oblivion, with tweaks to utilize elements of Skyrim that I am looking forward to. Either way, the basic archetype is a tank warrior that summons spirits.

My Morrowind version:
Race - Breton
Specialization - Magic
Attributes - Strength, Intelligence
Major Skills - Long Blade, Heavy Armor, Conjuration, Mysticism, Enchant
Minor Skills - Short Blade, Block, Alteration (?), Restoration (?), Armorer (?)
(?) = skills that aren't set in stone, and are interchangeable, as they aren't essential to the vision of the character.
RP - Arcane Warrior who specializes in the dark arts of soul summoning (Conjuration), and soul manipulation (Mysticism). Summons spirits to aid them in this realm, while harvesting the souls of their victims and using their pure essence and turning it into arcane energy.

My Oblivion version:
Race - Redguard
Specialization - Combat
Attributes - Strength, Endurance
Major Skills - Blade, Heavy Armor, Conjuration, Mysticism, Alteration, Marksman, Sneak
* - Slight changes are made to the character at times, swapping in Destruction for Alteration. But typically go with Alteration. Shield spells are my friend. Debating the RP purpose of including Marksman / Sneak in the build, other than just the fact that I like the gameplay mechanics.
RP - Same as Morrowind RP, just can't include Enchant in the "soul manipulation" aspect as Enchant isn't a skill in Oblivion.

My Skyrim version:

Well, like I said, I don't exactly know what the skill list is, and just how many skills we can adequately focus on for our characters (Morrowind had 10 class skills, Oblivion had 7, so how many can we realistically focus on in Skyrim?), but the core will still be the same. Bladed weapons, heavy armor, Conjuration magic, soul trap spells (wherever those happen to fall as Mysticism is gone), and Enchanting (since it is now back as a skill). I will focus on dual wielding, and will probably stick with my Shield spells, so keep Alteration around as well.

Depending on the character I play, I fall somewhere between good with a bad side, or bad with a good side. I can never go pure good or evil. It's typically a bad guy with a heart of gold, anti-hero type. The guy who will do the right thing, but in bad ways.
