Your first Mod for TES Skyrim

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 11:18 pm

I don't see any topics like this so.

I want to know what the first mod you modders will make.

I've fooled around with the construction set for every game that has had one, but I've never had anything solid.
My plan is to create a few dungeons and maybe a quest to go with them. I'm also hoping to learn how to create 3D models(Maybe a unique weapon as a reward for this quest).

So, what are your plans, if you have any?

My plans are still very fluid, I am just writing down whatever I think might be neat in the game and I will actually plan out what I make closer to launch. You know, when I know what is in the game and what not.

Probably start out with a player house though. I like to make my own.

I'm trying not to think about mods yet. It's too easy for me to get carried away.

My plans are not to use any mods but ever since FALLOUT 3 which is as complete and satisfying a rpg can get since DAGGERFALL i still found myself using mods since instead of fixing stuff they actually enhanced the atmosphere making it more rich in its immersiveness. Dont know what mod will be able to that for me concerning SKYRIM so i'll probably just say a nudity or music mod will be the first buetiful creation i use by a Modder. Thanks for asking.

Well, I am hoping we get our own fortress, but if not that'll be my first mod. If we do, then maybe I will expand on the fortress we get, give it further options to grow.

Well apparently my first mod will have to be one that will entail that hiding a body in bushes will keep the citizens from calling the guards on you or the guards to not find the body. That's also assuming that this system isn't already in place in the actual game.

Replace the sound files for the dragons with electronica. I'll be able to tell when a dragon approaches from hearing its phat bass.

I just started figuring out how to mod Morrowind yesterday. But already I have big plans.

I want to make my own house.
Then my own race.
Then my own city.
Then my own mini-expansion.

And I'll probably manage the first 2.

I see your avatar. You gonna make BISCUITS!? You gonna make biscuits?! YOU- GONNA- MAKE- BISCUITS?!
Sorry, off topic, couldn't help it.
I had the same idea with Oblivion. I wanted to make my own World Space with lots of cities and stuff, that never even came close to happening.

First probably a house mod - it's the best way for me to say "hello" to Construction set and learn a bit about where things are and how they work this time around. And I seams to be allergic to the houses I did not make my self, for some reason even if I like the house made by others a lot I end up making my own for a persona use anyway...
Than character appearance mod, again for persona use - I need custom morphs and textures to get exactly what I want.
After that, if CS proves to be as friendly as Morrowind and when the plugins for all the programs I use updated - lots of new hair and clothing (I want fur coats, and a lots of them, Skyrim seams to be way to cold for an Altmer :D)
Than, if I still feel right about the game - Oblivion had to many little let downs in the engine and general system for example, that I think Skyrim may just correct, I'll get to the "heavy" stuff :)

Well, you never know. Once I got used to it, it only took me 20 minutes to add a largeish room to a house. Maybe once I am a master, I will be able to build THE GREATEST MOD... IN THE WOOOOORLD!!!!!!!

EDTI: I already have my idea, anyway. Just need to implement it.

Assuming i can do the same sort of things as with the Fallout GECK i plan to port quite a few of my mods over. Obviously some might need a bit of tweaking in name and how they work.

Bottle That Water (so you can bottle water to drink at water sources)
Invisible Armored Vests (wear what you want and still be protected)
Magic Fingers Perk (steal everything from NPCs including their clothes)
Night Vision Implant (automatic kind)
Pip-Boy Stealth Boy Addon (automatic kind)

As for new mods since Bethesda will once again neglect it.

Poison Food (so you can poison generic food that people will eat and thus die)

I started to create a castle in Oblivion and never got around to fully completing it... Since I still have the 3DS files, I'll probably work on it for Skyrim instead.

Oh, and I'll probably update my Villain's Arsenal for Skyrim as well.

Even if it's only viable in first person!

My first mod will of course be a local map composite cell grid map.
