Your first TES V character

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 11:09 am

Let's for simplicity's sake assume that TES V will have the same races and the same classes/birhtsigns as before, with similar qualities. What will be your very first TES V character?

I don't know, but I'll playing all my characters in the ironman challenge. So I actually fear for my character instead of running headlessly everywhere to test things out, then reload. It has ruined many games for me.

Most likely, heroic, strictly warrior/swordsman type. It's what I always use as my first character in RPG's (aside from Fallout 3, for some reason), cause it's pretty simple and allows me to get familiar with the game quickest.

I'll likely have a Belvani ancestor character down the road, but unlikely my first. The first is usually a complete original.

I haven't really given it that much thought yet, but probably an altmer, no idea what combat orientation i'll pick yet.

My first TESV character will be called Digirl (as always). He's a Nord Barbarian born under the sign of the Warrior.

That is how I always start playing a TES game.

Nord Battlemage, sign of the Mage. Good balance between support magic and melee without getting too big a melee boost from the start since it's a magic class.

It really depends whether or not the game has a decent amount of non-combat/persuasion options, in that case I'll play a Imperial Rogue (or maybe a Nord).

If not I'll probably start with a Dunmer adventurer (long swords, bows and destruction with some sneak, basically the skills a Dunmer has a bonus) or a pure stealth character, probably an Imperial in that case.

Dark Elf thief or mage. Or a Khajiit thief, depending on how Bethesda treated that race this time around. If I'm a mage I'll probably use the apprentice birthsign.

First character will be an Imperial called Trannigan because I always make that character first in all fantasy RPGs I play, have since Fable. The secoond character will either be a Khajiit or Argonian.

My character will probably be a Nord warrior or a Dunmer assassin, but I might consider playing another race... depending on how they look in the next game.

Haha!, game content like this (quests that aren't "heroic") is what TES needs, simply playing without being the big hero.

As for my class.....

Breton Spellsword, born under the Sign of The Mage, who travels all around the land to help the people with task, and also to search for fortune in forgotten ruins.

I'll probably do a Bosmer stealth-based character, at least until the race mods start coming out.

I tend to make a Khajiit or Argonian first, since I'm usually eager to get on with the main story rather than edit what my character looks like :P

In the past I've tended to play altmer magic users born under the sign of the Atronach, but if magicka looks to regen as fluidly as it did in Oblivion, I'll probably opt for a sign that allows more spontaneity in the early part of the game. Atronach isn't a hardship in Oblivion once you've leveled your alchemy skill a bit and know where the different plants grow (and have the strength to carry both your apothecary and a bit of loot!), but it's hard to feel free to adventure before you've secured your mana supply and it takes awhile for a first character to accomplish that.

Definitely, they need more "side-things" so the world doesn't feel like it depends on you for everything. They seem to always need "an adventurer like you" to do everything, and they always seem to know you're an adventurer by looking at your shiny plaid shirt and your obviously heroic sandals that you found in a crate on the side of the road.

Anyway, I'll probably play as one of my two favorite characters.

Tyvana - Dunmer Thief
Aldorath Serethi - Dunmer Mage

I can't pick though. The only reason I choose those two is because they're both Elven, so they could live for that long. Especially Aldorath because he was the Arch-Mage in Cyrodiil, before the Mages Guild, and eventually the Empire collapsed.

Most likely a Bosmer thief/assassin (or a custom stealth class) probably either the Steed or the Thief.
