Yes, but they fall into two camps; those who also play TES and those who have no clue what TES is.

Yes, why would I hide it?
My brother is also a gamer, we both started playing D&D in 1979. He played Oblivion a bit but has never really got into TES, mostly he plays strategy games when on PC. My sister played D&D a bit but has never been really into gaming. My daughters played RPGs a bit with me but their favourite PC game is The Sims
Quite a few of my friends are gamers and 2 of them got me interested in MW in the 1st place.

This is a good topic and I wish the poll would show up. Voted "other", since I can't choose both friends & family. My brother (42 yrs old) knows I play and so does my nephew (15). I have a friend or 2 I've blabbed TES to; one of them I actually gave a copy of Oblivion: GOTY for PC! But nobody else really knows...there isn't really much reason to bring the subject up to peeps i know don't game and won't understand my gaming passion.

I reported this thread because it should be moved to the Elder Scrolls general forum, I think.

Yea, I think I started D&D and D&D ripoff RPGs in '84 or '85.

My mother knows, but I do not see why not to be honest.

I have a old friend that knows I play it but he thinks he is a ES fan just because I am one

I have no real gamer friends, but I do discuss the series with my brother since he's a fellow TES gamer.

My family and friends know I play games.
But the only things they "know" of that I play are Fallout, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress.

Other. I'm not even sure what TES is, to be honest. *troll face*

Nah, I'm one of the nerds in my circle of friends/enemies. I know it, they know it -- it's beyond anyone's help.

Parents don't game; don't know what TES is
Sister games, but just WOW, so she has no idea of what TES is
Brother only plays Flight Simulators, so he'd have no idea.

Most of my real life friends don't game, those who do probably are aware of it and couldn't care whether I played it or not.

I don't care as deeply about TES as others do; I've always like Ultima's lore. But what TES does do (and does well) is bring you into a massive SINGLEPLAYER fantasy world based on a medieval steel & magic mix. It gives you a lot of depth and a lot of areas to adventure. And that's just the kinda game I've been wanting to play for a while.

I would flatline if Bethesda gained the rights to create a true Ultima game (based off lore in Ultimas I - V) that was on scale of Skyrim.

Most people I know don't get into TES. I still talk to them about it, especially if they are gamers. Ain't no shame in my game. Don't be scared your whole life.

My family knows it, sometimes I talk about Oblivion/Skyrim to them. Not a lot of my friends know about these games though, not because I don't want to tell them, but because we speak of other things usually. One thing they know of my gaming habits is that I like simracing. And I play Diablo 2 with one of my friends on battle.net from time to time.

it's because this subject is kinda touchy in some ways...the subject of admitting you're a gaming geek to friends & family, especially if they're not into gaming.

I don't know what it's like nowadays in school, but back when I was in high school if you admitted you played D&D to the general public of jocks and prisses, you'd get laughed at. ridiculed. I had a group of "friends" back then, and one of them saw my lead figureines and D&D books one day, it was one of the most embarassing moments cuz I got laughed at big time.

Now that we've got videogames, it's now okay to play games which are basically D&D derivatives, although most kids nowadays probably don't know this.

This poll doesn't make sense to me, lol.
Why isn't there an option that says my friends and family knows, it's no secret, but they don't play? Why would all my friends play TES too? That's not realistic.

You're saying it as if playing TES is some kind of dirty secret. :P
