Your Game Style

Post » Sun Aug 15, 2010 11:00 am

Hello.

I'd like to ask you, how are you planning to play like?

So far we only seen a bit of the gameplay, but we are getting more and more videos and as I noticed lots of us are planning their tactics already, so let us share :gun:

I think I will pick Light Soldier as I have some experience with ambushing and running fast (Loads of hours as Tf2 Scout), so Ill do my job and ambush my enemies a lot with Molotov.

Play style? I will first play BRINK on singleplayer and learn the routes. I will use my movement as advantage slip trough enemy defense, do my job (plant some bombs) then get my kills on loners/medics/unalerted players. And ambush enemy to support my team (With my Molotov Cocktail  )

So how are you planning to play like?

i will most likely play singleplayer first, to get the whole story and learn the layouts of the maps

i will most likely be a engineer more often then not, to support the team and lay down turrets and mines to slow/stop enemy advancement :)

Hit the multiplayer after a few hours of singleplayer.
Medic/Slayer medium or light build
I will run from downed team-mate to downed team-mate; killing anyone in my path.
I reckon that will do the trick - my gun skills are pretty dominant on most games, nerves of steel from COD (and BB-gun Rock Paper Scissors (you get shot from 1 meter if you lose) and the reactions of a spastic tortoise Olympic Ping-Pong champion on speed.

I will play as a light engi who lays turrets where only lghts can get to so that the light ops can not get in my base easily, I will also place mines at the places lights are likely to use to get in my base.

I will first play the challenges to get a feel for the maps and unlock some of the weapons and customization options.

By the way where is my turtle? :unsure2:

ALWAYS light body type. Mostly operative but sometimes medic and engineer. Soldier probably last. I will most likely not directly engage in battle and just flank as much as possible.

Light assassin and Medium nurse. I like to play as a small group.

As Digital said, I'll be going through the campaign first to learn the maps and get the feel for the story. If not both sides, then one before I go online.

I'm going light for sure just because I fly around in COD with smg's and never stand still.... at all... I look like I'm on Crack when I play lol. I haven't decided which class to play yet tho, i've been bouncing around on my decision...

Engineer - I svck at knowing where to put turrets in games.. I will fail as this class haha
Medic - I'm never really around teamates, I'm usually off doing flanking maneuvers so this probobly won't work for me
Soldier - Could work for me, I don't feel like I know enough about the class though... I'll just have to wait till the game comes out
Operative - Most likely gonna be this, since I already zip around maps when I play cod, I don't think I'll have a problem with playing the operative and will probobly rise above the rest of the "scrub" operatives.

Im not too sure what I'm gonna be, probably a light medic so I can do all the awesome wall runnin and crap and get to incapicitated friendly's fast, but honestly I'll probably try all weights and classes cause thats part of the fun of the game. Afterall, I did pay 60 bucks on this thing, I better put some time into it.

I'm going to be a medium engineer. I was going to be light at first but my friend made a suggestion for using a Mossington Shotgun and a Barret Rifle. I usually play defensive as engineers and I will either hold off high traffic areas or defend objectives.

I'm going to experiment with every class/body type at some stage.

But my main will be Light Operative/Medic.

The reason for this choice is my playstyle from Transformers: War for Cybertron. I'm used to being the Scientist in that game, or Scout. A Scientist, depending on how you customise them, would be a direct equivalent to a Light Medic or Light Operative, or could be a blend of the two. I had 2 main builds, one fully focused on being Medic, and one who was basically an Operative. Scientists being what they were in WfC, I was the only class that could be OHKed outside melee range, and I was by far the most mobile (Jet form FTW). Sounds Light to me.

As a Medic, I was rarely in the line of fire long enough to take damage - I dropped in, patched a teammate up, dropped a Sanctuary Grenade or a Repair Turret, then got out. If I was healing people in the middle of a major firestorm, I'd transform and drop the grenade before I reached the ground, then hit Drain so I had nearby enemies giving me health as well as being in my grenade's healing bubble. Going 0 kills (sometimes as many as 2) and 3 - 7 deaths (depending how good the enemy team were at targeting the Medic), but being told after the match that I was the most valuable player on the team? Awesome. Shame the game's XP system didn't actually reward healing... Players appreciated it, but apparently the devs didn't.

With my "Havoc" build, which may as well be a Brink Operative, I had Disguise (was't as effective as in Brink, but could be triggered any time) and Shockwave. I was fairly suicidal with this build, I got more deaths than anyone else in my team, and usually fewer kills, but if I dropped into an enemy formation and hit Shockwave, I'd have a chance of knocking one or two off a ledge to their deaths, and if I got the chance to line up a few headshots, I'd usually take one of them with me. Also, as the name suggests, even if I got no kills, I left even the most coordinated teams in chaos for a good few seconds. Long enough for my teammates to earn me assists on the people I didn't manage to kill myself (there were ALWAYS survivors, and I was NEVER one of them).

My Scout was stealth-focused, reasonably high speed, and also pretty fragile. I had high-damage short-range weapons, and was basically a barely-visible glass cannon. Cloak, then speed in while hidden, a couple of point-blank Scatter Blaster shots (basically a semi-auto shotgun) to the back of the head, and get the *$&% out before anyone else realises I'm there. Didn't always work that way, of course, but that was the usual plan. And again, I was good at timing it for when my teammates showed up, so after getting away, I'd come back from another direction, and help out with the cleanup. And when the "get the *$&% out" part of my plan failed, it usually involved the enemies all turning and shooting me while my teammates came up on them from behind.

My game style?

Well, hmm, I think I will play single player to get the hang of the basics first and unlock the Heavy/Light to get a feel for those and get the customization options (especially the Eel!). Maybe do
some challenges (maybe I can find some people to co-op with?) to get some practice and unlock a couple of weapon goodies.

Then, I hope to go online and co-op with a someone or even with a random group from time to time on the weekends or whenever I'm free. ^_^ (Hopefully, I can find some peeps from this forum!)

Now, gameplay-wise. Hmm... It really depends on how the game works, really.

I'm one of those who like to stay with a party member or two at all times---like a Buddy System, lol: You got my back and I got your back---and keep healing/reviving dead peeps I come across.

Depending on the FPS game, I could be a hit-and-run backwards into cover kind of sissy gal or I could be a suicidal, panicky, but aggressive fighter gal, lol.
I really don't know until I get the game. There are many variables.

It really depends on how the fast the character moves, the map, my teammates, how the opponents play, the current mission, etc.

For example, in offline co-op Borderlands, I would go invisible and run forward and damage the strongest guy possible and bring the gunfire towards myself while my sister would pick them off from a distance with her rifles, while in Halo: Reach, we would try to separate and flank the bad guys from both the front and the back. In Call of Duty.... um.... well, I just run around and find cover and move around and try to flank enemies while sidestepping behind cover---oh, and grenade spam whenever I could, hee. :D In Gears of War, I just stick behind cover, move around and shoot enemies in the back.

....Once I think about it, I'm a "flanker" (is that a real word, lol?) kind of gal, lol!

But basically, I'll be sticking with the group at all times or sticking near someone who's doing an important objective and try to defend (or cover?) him while healing/reviving nearby peeps from time to time.

(I cut out most of it because of it's longevity.)

Wow those sounded like strategies you came up with on the fly. I can't wait to see what you do with BRINK!

I'm a sissy fighter, so I'm always a hit-and-run-backwards or run directly in front of your face and gun-butt and spray kind of gal, lol. :D I'm an extreme person, so I'm either too cautious or I'm panicky and suicidal when startled, hee.

But basically, I'll be sticking with the group at all times or sticking near someone who's doing an important objective and try to defend (or cover?) him while healing/reviving nearby peeps from time to time.

And that's why you're our Medic ^_^

Like a hamster on coffee?

After spending a looong time within the character creator... I'm jumping right into the fray with everyone else.

Setting fires, blowing things up, trying to be a good team player, pass out ammo like its going out of stile, helping out where ever I can but most of all... being on the front line spraying bullets faster then I can reload :gun:

Then after all that... I'm sure to be within the challenge stages unlocking everything that I can.

I'll gladly do some challenges with yu, and even possibly some Mutliplayer :).
As far as my game style.. I don't know.. I like to show what I got. like the Medic form Global Agenda(which looks hardcoe) Just because I can heal doesn't mean that how I'm going to play. It's just a great bonus.
With Brink though I want to be more of a killer, not standing there "Healing". If that's what I'll get thrown into then I'll delete the medic and go Soldier.

I'm gonna go through story mode and get a feel for what I like, most likely I'll just be running and gunning because sniping is not an option in Brink. Too much awesome fast paced gameplay and parkour.

Basically, the opposite of me, lol. Let's be teammates, hee!

I wonder how crazy fast this game will be. I hope I will be able to keep up with it. I'm going to heal/revive and cover/defend people whenever I can and stick to my team.
Otherwise, it might be too dizzying for me with 8 people per team running and gunning and ninja-ing around, lol! :D
