Your Gods

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 12:15 pm

well i chose these beings because there the same and the first
Therefore they are all powerful because they made the beings that made the gods. therefore they are all knowing. they made everything

Minus their being non-sentient forces. Anu/Anueil and Padomay/Sithis... they are IS/IS-NOT, Infinity/Zero, Stasis/Change. Universe/Void. Giving them personification and attributing knowledge and purposeful creation to them would be like saying gravity has feelings.

I blame the psychos that is the Cyrodiil Dark Brotherhood for warping these kids mind's into thinking Sithis is some dark gothic death god, instead of a force like gravity!

I seem to have gravitated to Kynareth and Meridia over the years. Meridia's described as "a wayward solar daughter who was cast from the heavens for consorting with illicit spectra." Sounds like my kinda chick.

I always did like Meridia the best of all the daedra when I finally learned about her. When I learned more about Azura I didn't like her anymore. She throws temper tantrums way too much for my liking.

I don't think I'll spend time worshipping the gods themselves as I think that's a waste of my time, but I will be careful with what I do about the Daedra Princes as they exist in a very action oriented way. Daedra, they're always busy. So I'll be mindful not to piss them off.

Meridia was banging Molag Bal. Papa Magnus got angry and threw her out of the house.

Btw, the dwemer didn't worship "reason and logic." On the contrary, their whole reason for disappearing was to go backwards to the very first stroke of Padomay, an extremely metaphysical and mythic task. They saw the world as a prison, and wanted to get out of that prison (like most mer). They knew the world had rules that they felt were meant to be bent and broken repeatedly.

Spectra is light, not spirits...besides, I thought she had a thing for Umaril, not Bal.

I don't think this is the case, at least not obviously. They tried first to build Numidium, a mechanical god powered by Lorkhan's Heart, then disappeared in a seeming act of desparation as their nation was losing the war with the Chimer. No one can say why or even how they all disappeared, so it isn't fair to say they were trying to escape reality. But no one really knows what they would have done with Numidium either, so the Dwemer's theological ideas aren't really clear at all, except that they had little veneration for Daedra.

actually, a dev came on and said how and why. The became the golden skin of the Numidium during the battle of red mountain. The original plan was to ascend back to when they were great and such, not lowly mortals, stuck inside of a prison called Mundus by using the Numidium. However, it seems they forgot to put the power button on "on."

And they had very little veneration to any of the "gods"

And Vivec took his manhood, and uses it often for himself, usually in the form of stabbing things to death or choking Azura.

In all likely hood, I think I wouldn't worship any gods. I'd respect them and acknowledge their existence because of their interactions with the world, but not worship.

I'd be scared to worship just one, because it causes another one to hate me.
