Brotherhood Safehouse:
Upstairs: Left Small Container:
I keep one of each chems and meds I find out in the wastes
Upstairs: Left Big Shelf:
I keep nothing here.
Upstairs: Up and To the Right By the Crates (On the floor):
I keep one of each of the bullet cases I find out in the wastes
Upstairs: Right Big Shelf 2:
I keep oversized ammo here like Mini Nuke, 5mm Rounds, 40mm GNDs, 25mm GNDs, and Missiles.
Upstairs: Right Big Shelf 1:
I keep one of each of the ammo I find out in the wastes.
Downstairs: Far Left Container:
I keep all the weapons I want to store in here. (Like 53 weapons I have right now)
Downstairs: Footlocker Under Cot 1:
I keep all of my hulls and cases I find out in the wastes.
Downstairs: Container Between Cot 1 and Cot 2:
Nothing
Downstairs: Footlocker Under Cot 2:
I keep all of my drained cells and cell packs here.
Downstairs: Container Between Cot 2 and Cot 3:
I keep all of my misc. stuff in here in order to build stuff like WRKs. (Ironic, since my Repair Skill is 24)
Downstairs: Footlocker Under Cot 3:
I keep all of my bullet building stuff in here. (Ironic, since my Repair Skill is 24) (Also, I have like 2652 Lead in here)
Downstairs: Left Shelf:
Nothing
Downstairs: Further Left Shelf:
Nothing
Downstairs: Right Shelf:
Nothing
Downstairs: Further Right Shelf:
Nothing

Sorry for my unproductive description of containers and shelves.

Vault 21 is nice, but needs a good... 7 loading screens. I only use it to have six with Sarah :hubbahubba:

Although I should give on of the Safehouses a go, Novac is a little cramped and the water is irradiated. I just have to pick between spawning with Deathclaws, Cazadors, or Super Mutants. Brotherhood and the Follower safehouses are prettier, but they don't suit me since i'm doing a Ranger playthrough :P

The closest I'm using to a home is the abandoned shack near the Yangtze Memorial, but I only store my prepared food, ammo, and unique weapons and armor there.

Everything else I keep in the crates found in the alleyway between the bar and store in Goodsprings. Those boxes are pretty much stashes for all of my salable equipment and my craftable/cookable materials.

The only thing I have to be careful about is not to bump into those boxes. I managed to launch one pretty much out of the entire game map thanks to the wonderful physics collision detection. At least leaving the area for 72+ hours resets the crates' positioning.

Hmmm...Google Chrome makes this website look good.

On Topic: I have a little shack over at Yangtze memorial with boxes. I just keep boxes. I visit it when I can. But my real home...is the Mojave.

Victor Shack. I decorate it with all my unique weapons and some apperals that wear me down in the wastes. So far I have a fat man, AER14, Lucky, Maria, La Lounge Carabine, All-American, CZ57 Avenger, Thump-Thump, Centurion Outfit, Police Hat, Robco Jumpsuit, Benny's Suit, Mclaffery's Hat, and an Old Cowboy Hat.

Harper's Shack was okay, until, after a nap, I turned away from the bunk and came face to face chest with an advlt Deathclaw that had wandered in.

Flurry ensued.

The Tops Presidential Suite to display everything, I don't really have a "travel drop off area." I don't play hardcoe mode (I would but I've grown too close to my companions, especially their inventory) so I really don't need a roadside quickstop. But if I did idk, probably some shack.

I've never really had a place I call home. I tend to travel alot, but there are a few places I like to visit.
I like Freeside (I know its a slum, but I like the place)

At the beginning of the game I hang out at the docs in Goodsprings - mainly due to the storage boxes etc (I prefer to keep everything ordered and organised into seperate storage)

As soon as I can, however, I book into the Novac Hotel where I stay for the duration of the game - it has adequate storage and only one door - which is why I favour it over the Lucky 38, too much waiting around doors/elevators to get in, although with the mods, it is superior in terms of storage lockers, and is handy for companions.

At present I have it absolutely crammed with expensive weapons/apparel etc. - hundreds of Anti Material/Sniper/Marksman/Assault/Trail rifles, riot shotguns, pistols/submachineguns etc., and nearly a thousand service rifles for jury rigging repairs/maintinance. Also I'm nearly at three hundred sets each of NCR Ranger Veteran Armour/Recon Armour/Combat Armour too, plus a few hundred sets of NCR Trooper Armour, for repairs.

I think I'm getting too obsesed with stockpiliing and selling stuff - I've just made my first million, and there's nothing else new to buy LOL

In Fallout 3 I loved Megaton House but in NV I haven't really found a good, easily accessible place with lot of storage. I've heard stuff about Novac hotel but I haven't tried it yet...
But not that I need a home. There are plenty beds around and I loot stuff very rarely in NV so there is no need for storage (unlike FO3, where I have stuff worth hundreds of thousands of caps in my many house lockers).

You should try that downed airplane shack near the cross at Yangtze Memorial, right on the left of where you're looking when you fast travel there (really only about 20 steps away from where you spawn). I've been using it for awhile and haven't lost one item I've put in there. It has a bed, reloading bench, ammo crate, and first aid kit inside. Plus it just makes you feel like a badass mercenary to use a shack in the middle of the desert rather than a motel room.

The problem with that shack are the Giant Radscorpions that live near it. They can be a real pain when low level. They have a bad habit of sitting outside the door.

not only the scorps, but i've had Deathclaws stray over in that area from the Quarry. Im thinking of using a vault, or wolfhorn ranch. I can do without a reloading bench (As all the ammo stuff is wieghtless, I can go to goodsprings and craft it up) I just need somewhere nice and quiet with a workbench and campfire.

Harpers or a moded Lucky 38 redone so that you can go in directly to the room with all 3 craftingstations (one stove converted to campfire, + reloading and workbench)

What's better than that?! Not only is your shack in the middle of the desert, it's constantly surrounded by Giant Radscorpions and Deathclaws! That doesn't get anymore badass mercenary to me......

Plus after you're level 10+ with a companion, they just destroy all enemies that come near.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Nipton. I use that house across from town hall where the robot lives, it has plenty of room, a safe, a dresser, a work bench (if not a reloading bench, can't remember) and no enemies outside. The only thing that gets annoying is that robot comes to life every couple of days when you re-visit it. Plus you get to keep the crucified company when you visit :shakehead:

ummm if your having issues with nasty creatures then try the Monte Carlo suites. It has everything you need except fire pit, It's located near New vegas and just need to kill a few raider types. which don't respawn. Also if you have a room in norvac then the abandon BOS bunker is a must have over flow, just need to avoid the NCR or legion over there.

yea, it has a nice feel to it, But I don't like using companions (they get in the way of mah bullets >:|) and Deathclaws are a pain at low lvls. I keep a pack of frag mines and powder charges on me incase I run into one, I start laying minefields begging for them to break their legs.

I use "Harper's Shack". It's got an ammo press, a workbench, AND a campfire. Not to mention a million and a half containers (more like 15 or so). The lighting's a little iffy, but when isn't it? Deathclaws nearby might look dangerous, but are no issue if you don't go annoying them.

Exactly. I use Harper's in every game, for the reasons you list plus the fun of seeing what my minefield's caught lately.
My latest character is named Harper. God, I'm a nerd.
