I have quite the Hotel room in Novac. Any useful items I get early on in the game, but can't use effectively, I stash in here for later by putting it "on display".

This Machine + Veteran Ranger Gear + Teddy Bear (on the bed)
Mini Gun (on coffee table)
Annabelle (on top of footlocker, another missile launcher inside that locker)
Fat Man (between fridge and cabinet)
Assault Carbine + Hunting Revolver + Marksman Carbine (in safe)
Sheriff Gear + NCR Gear (inside cabinet)
Lots of drugs (inside Medical Cabinet)

And I have 2 Garden Gnomes on each side of the doorway. Got most of this stuff Pre-lvl12, and I am very proud of it.

Lucky 38 is where I store my companions and weapons and apparel. I'm no longer selling anything, I just want to build up the biggest pile of crap in my kitchen!

I've made Wolfhorn Farmhouse my own place, I like seeing the windmill from halfway across the map and think there's home. I keep the lucky 38 just for dropping off and picking up companions.

In Fallout 3 I loved Megaton House but in NV I haven't really found a good, easily accessible place with lot of storage. I've heard stuff about Novac hotel but I haven't tried it yet...
But not that I need a home. There are plenty beds around and I loot stuff very rarely in NV so there is no need for storage (unlike FO3, where I have stuff worth hundreds of thousands of caps in my many house lockers).

I've been using The Goodsprings gas station as a home. Plenty of boxes and shelves to store stuff + a matress behind the counter .

Where I lay my head is home.

The Lucky 38. Why live in a dinky side road motel room when I can live in grandeur?

Silky soft sheets > Sheets that look unwashed that no one knows who did what in that bed

I'll tell you why: Because there are too many loading screens between you and your safehouse. Also, no campfire nearby.
For that reason I live in Victors Shack, and actually never move out.
Have to say, I enjoy the Goodsprings atmoshere a lot. It really is peaceful and calming.
More reasons why I don't move are

I. I'm too lazy too shift all my equipment over to a different location
II. There are actually not much items I'd like to display.
In Fallout 3, I really turned my Megaton shack into some sort of dollhouse. but I'm not one of these Gun Nuts who enjoy turning their home into an armory.
What Fallout 3 really was good at, was giving you nice quest souveniers and pick ups, like Lincolns diary, Desmonds glasses, the small sized Nuka cola trucks, the huge Teddy bears, the Buttercup toys, etc,etc. You could clutter up your 'home' with little items which all held a little story in them(mostly the story was about killing something, though^^). I found that to be pretty cool. In New Vegas there is a lot less of this, and most of the quest items are stuck in your inventory forever anyway :whistling:
III. Due to the(non-existant)backstory of the Courier, I don't actually feel like being at home anywhere. I'm just given too much of a vagabond/drifter vibe to feel like wanting to settle down.

Vault 21. I keep my collection of teddy bears there, plus it's a place to recoup my HP after a hard time exploring.

I use "Harper's Shack". It's got an ammo press, a workbench, AND a campfire. Not to mention a million and a half containers (more like 15 or so). The lighting's a little iffy, but when isn't it? Deathclaws nearby might look dangerous, but are no issue if you don't go annoying them.

I mostly use the Hotel Room and the Brotherhood bunker.

I use Lucky 38, Mainly for swaping out companions.

That's something I miss from Fallout 3, it had different sized bears. All the bears on NV are the same size. :sadvaultboy:

I live in Harpers shack, i say im married to cass and rex is our dog and i roleplay on that, everyday i go hunting for bighorner to feed the family while cass stays home, i play on hardcoe so i have to drink,sleep, and feed myself. and note at harpers shack your stuff does not disappear so you can set it up like a house

Adds a little more to the game, i like that!

I use Jeans sky diving, its close to goodsprings, and has four seperate lockers, an ammo box, and a metal box + a desk (but no bed :confused: )
In the first locker I have all my modded + guns and the spare mods to be attached, which i'll never sell. in the one next to it, I have guns which need work on and ones for repairs (jury rigging stash), In the one next to that I keep all my apparel, and in the last one I keep any items. Havent found a use for the ammo and metal box yet, as I play normal mode and the ammo doesn't weigh anything.

I haven't found anywhere I like to call my home TBH. If the lucky 38 stoves could be used as a campfire, then I'd use it, but I like having all my stuff in one place, without having to run off to another area to cook something. Currently on all my guys, I use the crates in goodspring (Near the workbench) to store everything, and will do that till I find somewhere I really like that doesn't require me to wipe out a faction. If only I could convince BoS to move out of hidden valley.... >.>

I still use my personally modded Novac motel room, because I like it. It could use to be a little bigger but with all the idle markers I added to it, it's a companion riot. Plus I find it convenient re: stores/benches. The doctor in Novac often sells a buffout & lots of rad-x/rad-away. Her inventory updates everyday, and since I like stockpiling those things, I like being close to her.

Sadly Cliff tends to bogart his new inventory when it's delivered, and I have shake it loose from from him (save/reload) but other than that, Novac has always felt like home.

I really didn't like Lucky 38 all that much, It just wasn't my kind of place. It felt to empty to me.

I call two places home, mainly because of convenience of the location.,

The Lucky 38 was too connected to the main story for me to use, that and I didn't like it. I either use the Tops (which you missed) or Vault 21; two of the most loading screen requiring houses in the game

The Tops Hotel and casino baby, I dig it baby they're the tops :tops:.

Hmm, maybe I should make a more welcoming room.
