Here are all the points that would encompass what I believe to be the ideal standard for a future elder scrolls title:
Overall:
- PC edition along side console edition with interfaces convenient for equal platforms
- Appropriate graphics for PC version
- More colorful palette with a less washed out overall tone (I cannot play Skyrim without Imaginator!)
- Much more "epic reality" moments like the Solitude vista
- No level scaling whatsoever
- Realistic Needs and Diseases implemented. Food no longer only serves to increase health!
- Rare items, weapons and armor implemented along with realistic high prices
- Keep the streamlined skills and attributes from Skyrim
- World reacts to player's choices realistically (i.e if kill the Emperor the legion should not enlist you)
- Immersive UI implemented - health and magicka bars only show up when being utilized. No crosshair unless facing actor.
- Quests can be failed
- Puzzles more difficult - something like those in Morrowind or Riven:the Sequel to Myst that require thought and problem solving.
- Important NPCs can die. With this quests can be failed. This allows the troublesome player to have consequences for his/her actions.
- More detailed conversations that tie in with the believability of the lore. Characters can have opinions about certain elements of in game lore and have unique personalities that may bias information. More topics of conversation.
- No quest markers that point to where to go.
- Fast travel only enabled after having visited a location.
- Travel by boat/ship/carriage or animal mount all in real time or quick depending on options.
- Rather than use voice actors for conversation, maybe develop radiant voice technology that can realistically develop conversation.
- Individual musical themes for regions, characters and cities
- Hand crafted dungeons
- Varied regions
- More exotic/original fauna
- The ability to sail a ship or boat
- Highly detailed cities with splendor and grime
- Khajiit sub species and Argonian variations
- Periodized world: i.e how certain races look based on status of historical narrative. (i.e Imperials could look more run down/byzantified in the 4th era)
