They just do, its a sonic attack that you can see moving through the air... SCIENCE!

Shot one the other day and it's sonic ring froze in the air, humming. It was awesome. I made Veronica walk through it to see what would happen (nothing).

i completely forgot about lakelurks. I'm pausing my game as we speak, and i just encountered some lakelurks. they're such a huge pain in the ass. even with me, Boone, and ED-E they still take forever to kill, and they waste all my Stimpacks.

Also, i forgot about the Centaurs on the "Extremely Creepy" scale. They spit that crap at you, and i just feel like it's a nuclear booger. But then again, even the powerful ones are incredibly easy to kill. Even with a couple shots from a Cowboy Repeater.

And Bloatflies are a waste of ammo, yes, but go into V.A.T.S., and a headshot with a varmit rifle takes them down in one shot. Simple as that.

But back to those god-awful Cazadors. I don't understand how anyone could call them easy. I'm talking about taking them on the non-wussy way. Anything is easy when you have a Sniper or Anti-Material rifle and you're blasting at it from a hill from far away. But when you're within a short (to them) flying distance, with a gun, they're gonna [censored] you. Even when it's just three, which is a relatively small pack from what i've encountered ( up to eight ). They're so over-powered in this game, even more so then Deathclaws, which are insane as well.

I nearly forgot about Nightkin! One time i was doing the mission where you have to make your way from Primm to Novac, and i just finished up helping the caravan people take care of the Legionairs. Then, before i even knew what was happening (i was looting all the dead), it came up on my screen "ED-E is dead". I turned around, and boom! Three or four Nightkin were right in my face. In a matter of seconds i was dead. Such a pain in the ass.

But i guess what you got to look at is that all those creatures provide a reasonable challange to the game. If it was just the encounters with people, it wouldn't be nearly as difficult to travel everywhere and find stuff. But, they still are a significant annoyance when you're just trying to play through and beat the game. I fast travel so much because i don't want to deal with these stupid "things".

This game is still one of the best games ever made though. Can't forget that.

You are kidding, I can easy kill Lakelurk with my Varmint Rifle loaded with .223.

Cazadors are not hard (admittedly not easy) once you pull out an automatic weapon, or HP round for Guns.

A 10mm smg kills cazadores fairly easy, especially if fully modded, given JHP rounds and even fast shot. as can a 9mm smg.
The weapons that really are great are the Assault carabine, given surplus ammo it cripples them far too easy at even long range. and...

The 12.7 smg in V.A.T.s max range 1% hit chance it will hit automatically most / all body parts, and kill most cazadores in one / two bursts.
When finally tried the 12.7's I cleared every cazadore area on normal without taking a hit, no sneaking just close range and kill.

Wasps, actually. Mutated http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarantula_hawk.
...the sting, particularly of Pepsis formosa, is among the most painful of any insect, but the intense pain only lasts for about 3 minutes. Commenting on his own experience, one researcher described the pain as "…immediate, excruciating pain that simply shuts down one's ability to do anything, except, perhaps, scream. Mental discipline simply does not work in these situations." In terms of scale, the wasp's sting is rated near the top of the Schmidt Sting Pain Index, second only to that of the bullet ant and is described by Schmidt as "blinding, fierce [and] shockingly electric". Because of their extremely large stingers, very few animals are able to eat them; one of the few animals that can is the roadrunner.

That's for normal ones. Imagine an eight inch barbed stinger pumping a pint of that kind of venom into you.

On the other hand, the Riot shotgun just annihilates them. Also if you cripple their wings, they aren't nearly as fast.

Cazadors, you see I have a character who has a high DT... Made entirely useless because of the poison they hve, I wear power armour and get [censored] torn apart if I dont have the right stuff. od forbi I ever had companions on HC they cant even use antivenom, and just run into the swarm.

well, my first spore carrier encounter scared the living hell outta me, like this scary groan and a big green ugly face filling my screen o.O from that moment, I never entered a plant growth without firing some pistol shots into them to see if anything came up

Machine gun only effectively (IMO) works if there is a little distance between you and the cazador - 9mm with loads of ammo work too, but again only if there some distance between you. Cazador's are probably the most annoying creatures in NV - at least Deathclaws are predictable.. in that once spotted, they'll charge you.. cazadors, have those weird spaz out moments - charging you and flying away and coming back from a different direction. Very unpredictable and dangerous (especially when you lower lvl character)

I hate those giant, irradiated, mutant, killer bees that attack when you are on the way to the Vegas strip from that cemetery. I am less than five hours into the game so they made easy pickings of me and overwhelmed from the start. I will have to come back later and see if they offer the same challenge when I am at level 8 or 9. We shall see. For now however, I hate those things; I can't even rememeber what they are called they killed me so fast...

that would be the "cazador" everyone is talking about.

oh, and you'll still have trouble with them later on. they swarm like reporters on a crime scene...

Centaurs, all the way. Disgusting creatures. Every time I see one, I just want to make it go away. Killing it is not enough; if its corpse is recognizable, I'm not satisfied. I wish the game allowed you to disintegrate corpses with your plasma rifle or explosive of choice. Waste of ammo, yeah, but with a centaur it'd be worth it.

Ash them from the start then

True but I was kinda referring to any kind of rapidly firing weapon you have

Geckos are funny because they have their mouth wide open when running, free headshot.

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/7822/95633622.jpg. Even before the Animal Friend perk they're my favourite.
They seem to say, "Uh oh!" and cover their eyes with their paws, before running away, if they get hurt too much.

My least favourite is Cazadore. Although Incendiary Grenades seem to help in killing them quicker. I prefer using the grenade rifle and then standing on a rock and bombarding them. If I can't find a high enough rock I just have to run away.
Deathclaws are tough, but they're not as annoying. They tend to stay in their own areas, which I avoid. Even those blind ones don't seem to be too blind. Ballistic Fist is good against them both but I prefer not to get that close to them in the first place.

BloatFlys, although i was happy to see that they were some what passive. Instead of chasing you to the ends of world. Waste of ammo and time just get rid of them

Lakelurks are worse than Cazadors IMO, the sonic attack is as strong as a Cazador and cripples your head because THEY AIM FOR YOUR HEAD

They certainly win in terms of number of opinion votes, that's for sure. :D

...I wish there were more creatures/variety. Hopefully they'll add a few more in the next FO game. Lately I've taken to killing all the bighorners just because I can. It's like wiping out the buffalo...I'm so mean.
