Your Least Favorite Creature

Post » Sat Jan 10, 2009 10:37 am

Out of everything in this game, I didn't jump quite as much as I did almost every time one of these... these things jumped out from nowhere (Spore Carriers) and started attacking. And they're not just intensely frightening, they're pretty tough to kill on your own.

However, as far as my least favorite New Vegas creature goes, I can't decide between the frightening Spore Carriers and the incredibly annoying and overpowered Cazadors. The only way I have ever had a chance in killing these was when i glitched up a cliff wall that they somehow couldn't fly up, and took my time in killing off every single one of those darned bugs, one by one. They're very quick and very powerful, and damage with a crippling 70 attack damage, on top of having the Cazador Poison, which does -5 for 30 seconds.

Ridiculous.

I agree with you on Cazadors but my last character build has been an energy weapon guru with 100 points thrown at that and the laser riffle blasts right through them. This was not the case with regular guns for the most part, especially not at low levels like 10 where I am easily killing these things now with the laser riffle.

I can't agree with you on the spore carriers. It isn't as if they startle me or catch me off guard and they are weak enemies.

I would have to say the most "annoying" and over populated enemy in New Vegas is the Radoscorpians. I understand we are in the desert and they belong here but maybe they shouldn't have made an appearance so much in Fallout 3 because I was totally sick of them from the first one I saw in F:NV.

even with a energy weapons skill of 19 i killed spore brutes with a half fixed flamer easily, cazadores are easily dispatched with explosives and automatic weapons, deathclaw can't take a brush gun to the face or even an assault carbine with AP ammo, Geckos are minor annoyances in hords but a provide little resistance. Bighorners on the otherhand, getting blindsided across the map against a rock, then getting rammed again and again and again and again and again until I die a pitiful death, that is truly annoying.

Cazadors are the most BS enemy that there is. I could under stand some of them being that powerful, but everyone of them is just a joke.. The best thing that I found for them is sniping from afar, or to use the hunting shot gun at close range. Up close, if there are more then 5 of them you're screwed unless you're boss..

Cazadors are some of the easiest enemies in the game once you get a good automatic weapon, like the laser RCW or maybe the .22 submachine gun

Deathclaws are tougher, but eventually become pretty manageable

Bighorners are painfully easy

Spore Carriers can be killed before they stand if you take the time to look at the patches of plants

Geckos are easy exp

Radscorpions are tough in the beginning but, like Deathclaws, get easy later on

Bloatflies..... Bloatflies do nothing but waste my ammo by flying zig-zags................ so Bloatflies

Although I suffer a bit of Apocritaphobia after meeting them in NV, I gotto say they are excellent addition to the wasteland.

Spore Carrier are cool as well, only if the drop something and spawn elsewhere so there is more motivation to :flamethrower: them.

Otherwise, the only "unsatisfying" enemy are Jackals and Vipers, because they don't have a decent size camp in Mojave.

Least fave....the Centaurs. For what seems to be a supposed higher-level creature, they're slow & not dangerous (at least in NV), plus they're fugly. Mostly, I find them very boring/pointless. Even Gecko's are more entertaining.

I never even think about centaurs when asked tbh, I always go for the creature that challanges me most.
However that's between a deathclaw ( easy to hit but armoured ) and a cazadore ( harder to hit but no armour ).
Cazadore' come in groups and seem to have a high spot chance, and are not prone to to - ing and fro - ing like most A.I if the pc is hidden.
But are generally weaker when faced by one.

However those that really get me are nightstalkers, a cross between the deathclaw and cazadore in tactics, strength, and A.I,
They have larger pack numbers and when the pc is spotted can flank better and reach the PC on a more direct path.
Only the fact that so few are around in NV compared to the others, and that their health is very small make them far less of a threat.

If I was to which one is my least favourite, fire ants or centaurs.

I run right through where the spore carriers are hiding. I turn to fire, they jump up - and Boone shoots them. :D Maybe not as challenging as doing it yourself though.

I'd say the Cazadors are crazy tough but the Energy Weapons on their wings do great damage. I don't like the Centaurs because they fling that goop at you.

I have the Animal Friend perk, did you see the Giant Rats acting like puppies so happy to see you in
Spoiler
Vault 11?
They'd do that little bow and shake their rear ends in delight when you approach. Too funny.

Even though I have that perk, it's still scary to walk by the Legendary Nightstalker a few times. He's twitchy and you think the perk isn't going to work. :o

Cazadors are actually one of my fav. creatures to kill. I can take out their wings with a 10mm and once one of their wings are damaged, they are a pathetic mess moving slow as molasses. I also have fun sniping them using iron sights from afar since it's kind of challenging with how quickly they move about.

My least fav. creature would be the bloatfly. I don't really like using VATs so it tends to be a little annoying when I aggro the little bugger.

For now, definitely Cazadors. They are ridiculously difficult to damage, move quickly, and always seem to manage to sting me (or Boone) and swarm me (and my companions) in a way that I can barely handle them. Deathclaws freak me out, but I hate Cazadors.

Did you add no S.P.E.C.I.A.L points to perception? How do you get caught off guard and killed by a Bighorner? LOL.... I have been rammed by them but they are smoked as soon as I get up.

Until I learned to load my smgs with HP ammo, Cazadors.

Now it must be, uh, the turrets in the BoS bunker or sneaky Nightkin.

Geckos are funny because they have their mouth wide open when running, free headshot.

it was more of a one time thing; see i just came out of red rock canyon and I see a little town in the distance, between red rock and that town their are a couple herds of bighorner, I generally ignore bighorner so I think I may have passed a little to close to one and it hit me from behind into a rock, pinning me, it came back for more, until I died.

now I hesitate before going through a field of battle cattle.
