Your moddingplaying ratio

La question du jour:

How much time do you spend modding vs actually playing Morrowind?

In my case, I spend about 80% of my time modding the game and, although modding is a game of its own, I try to stop once in a while to play and just enjoy the current state of my game. (I'm still taking notes of stuff I wanna tweak while I play though )

How about you, dear community?

After I spend a few hours loading up the mods I want, I play the game. I don't change mod mixes on a character, so put me down for 1% modding, 99% playing.

I think you either play or mod - I find I can't do both at the same time

Either I play and then see something I want to mod - or I mod and then play to test the mod

Pretty much with Morrowind I now do 100% modding

However as I am working on dialogue and quest mods when testing time comes there's a lot of game time - especially trying to get scripts to do what they are supposed to

My ratio is around infinity - I spend a lot of time playing around in the CS, but since I can't seem to focus on one single thing, I usually don't even have anything to test. And daedra know when was the last time I've actually played the game - but definately before 2010...

Lol.

Okay, but you haven't defined the time period. If I averaged over the course of time I've played Morrowind, it's probably 25% play time and 75% modding. But if you only look at the last 5 years? 5% play time (if you include play testing) and 95% modding.

Took me a couple minutes to install Morrowind Code Patch and Morrowind Rebirth. I use nothing else, and have so far played 300+ hours with quite a few different characters. Still many things to find and explore. Rebirth made me experience Morrowind anew.

I actually meant nowadays or relatively recently. It's interesting to see that the replies so far are almost all or nothing in their distribution between modding and playing.

As the lady said. :)

At the moment I'm polishing the biggest mod project I've ever undertaken; when I need a break, I look for mods to download, test them, and tweak my current installation to prepare to actually playing the game again.

When I'm done with said project I'll take a break from modding and enjoy a good, long game. :)

I think for right now, I spend 10% of time playing MW, 5% of time modding......... and 85% of time thinking about modding. :gun: :banghead:

I keep saying 'some day'.... but don't get it done.

Yep, this is exactly what I do. And that is my hope as well.

I can't even remember if I actually like Morrowind.

I never did any of the mainquests, or any factions except the theives guild. Level 15 was my highest ever level.

I don't actually think I do,

Well, you must at least like the way it looks? Or maybe the CS is just so much simpler than the newer ones. :D

I find that as the years go by I spend less time modding and more time playing. I don't have the energy to spend hundreds of obsessive hours tweaking every tiny bit of my game that I had 12 years ago. These days I find I'm more interested in relaxing by playing a game for an hour or two than in making mods and troubleshooting mod conflicts.

I don't really play morrowind anymore, but I only started modding last year, and it isn't something I do every day. I might put a few hours of modding in every odd weekend, so comparing that to the many playthroughs I completed before I started modding, I think the ratio falls heavily in favor of playing.

60-70ish% modding, versus playing, or playing other games.

Steam says I've logged 400 hours in Skyrim and 50 hours in the Creation Kit. That means my ratio is 8:1 in Skyrim. I don't know how long I've played Morrowind but over the last decade, I definitely played it more than I recall playing Skyrim in the last 3 years... so I'm going to have to say 16:1 on Morrowind as I just started messing with Morrowind at the beginning of this year.
