Your most annoying enemy in Fallout 4

Post » Mon Jan 11, 2016 12:59 am

Mirelurks have really started to get on my nerves, they are so plentiful and are really tough, they also tend to suddenly appear when I'm chilling out just enjoying the atmosphere/view.

Definitely those mosquito things, playing on survival their poise can drain your health ridiculously fast, they can be difficult to shoot, and some of them are pretty strong

Blood bugs and whatever the upgraded version is called. They are so hard to shoot without vats

The flying bugs, hard to shoot, drain resources, and little if any loot.

I'm going with the blood bug family! Although they're more manageable then those flipping Cazadore things from NV.

Myself with a lousy grenade throw....

But, any bug in the game. Bethesda made them to bug like and they move to much...(not srs)

Always hated them too. They move stupidly fast considering their tiny legs and their enormous bulky size. They have a tendency to pop up out of the ground even when fully stealthed as well. But they stopped being annoying when I found an explosive shotgun. Outfitted it with a silencer and it just tears them apart. I've even managed to shoot off their shells a few times without killing them. Not sure if it's supposed to happen because there isn't much left after the shell is gone.

Mirelurk hatchlings, most annoying things in all game. I'd rather take on 3 glowing radscorpions (at the same time cause they travel in packs anyways).

Things that burrow during fights. Especially when they never resurface again.

CTD on win10, more so than win7 i have found... and this is with PC system that more than meets minimum or even recommended hardware requirements.. reminds me of the early days of win7 and FO3.. only time and patch/driver updates will resolve it... still it can be argued that a product such as digital, should work "out of the box" so to speak... but in the digital world with programming, there will ALWAYS be bugs...

a tie between bloodbugs since their cheap attack can bypass any armor you have and poison you..even through full x-01 armor... and radscorpions, just a lame mechanic that they can be a mile away, pop under the ground and be on you instantly...guess they all have Blitz. I'd say the mirelurk queen on survival mode since her acid attack or whatever can pretty much kill any low to medium endurance character in one hit, but the encounter with this mob is rare enough to give it a pass.

bugs, hatchlings, mole rats, anything small and persistent.

The telekinesis gamma gun (Lorenzo's Artifact) is awesome for bugs, hatchlings and destroying nests. I've been blasting everything with it since I got it.

Once, just for fun, I spawned a bunch of high levelled enemies on the Prydwen, including a couple of Vampiric Bloodbugs. They won, lol. When everything else was dead they patrolled the area (while I hid high on a beam).
It was interesting to watch :)

The ones that annoy me most are the burrowers - molerats and radscorpions.

I dunno. They are all fun. I picked up, quite early on, a .45 pipe rifle that has a 20% chance to cripple. That's per shot, so I made it into a .38 auto, and Mirelurks etc are now a comedy act. The little pipe gun I still carry does about 10 damage, but I'm not trying to hurt anything with it, just cripple it. It's almost the only Legendary I use, I mostly sell the rest. Even a Mirelurk with all those legs is stopped dead by a magazine of the most common and cheapest ammo in the game.

On Spectacle Island I left a big trail of fully crippled Mirelurks after each event which spawns them. Then I went back and tried to get them to die with minimum ammo expenditure, while avoiding hurt. That can be quite amusing.

First prize for annoyance goes to Bloodbugs. Stingwings, bloatflies, mongrels, mirelurks, and anyone that spams grenades also annoy me. The three insects can be strangely resiliant, and their poison damage (against which there is little defence) can kill you quickly, regardless of your armor. With the mongrels, their high damage combined with their tendancy to encircle and stagger lock (they can even stagger someone in power armor) their target makes them annoying enough to mention. The annoyance of enemies that grenade spam is self-evident. As for mirelurks, I still have a vendetta against them from Fallout 3, when they killed Dogmeat (before the patch that gave him godlike health). I was walking back to Meagaton from Minefield while overencumbered and with two crippled legs when I encountered them, and they killed him quickly, nearly killed me as well. Unfortunately, I had no recent saves to load, thus I had to live with it. So began my vendetta, and no matter how many mirelurks I kill, my lust for vengeance is not sated (nor is my hunger, mmm... mirelurk cakes ).

LOL. All the Bugs, the Dogs, the Molerats, baby Mirelurks die to a swift bayonet stab. Some of the tougher ones take a couple. The nasty bugs, with serious poison damage are best just shot while backing away. I have most of my chops back so I can say it's not that hard, Before I got them back I did have trouble with stingwings, that's for sure. They are not tough, a couple of 5.56 is all you need..

Survival, and never VATS.

Quite amusing.

Sounds about like having a dart gun from Fallout 3 all over again.

Yeah bugs, and ghouls a distant second. I'd like to play without VATS but the bugs make it difficult. For ghouls I don't like how they just "teleport" in, and I'm not talking about those lying down; I've actually seen them just pop in.

Most annoying for me is when you are engaged in a melee fight with some tough enemy, just about to finish them off and unbeknownst to you your companion, who you haven't seen for a while because they became incapacitated, has come good, picked up a Fat Boy with ammo from someone you killed and decides to help you out by blowing both yourself and your sparring partner to smithereens in a nuclear blast.

I find the flying insects and ghouls are best dealt with by sprint charging at them with a machete.
