Your most anticipated mods for Skyrim?

Post » Fri Sep 16, 2011 12:35 pm

Most anticipated? Well, the mod I most anticipate to be made is a nvde mod. I'm sure that'll be one of the first to be made. ;)

But, my most wanted mod that I'd actually download? Definitely dual-wield blocking if it's possible to mod in.

- An animation replacer for horses (if possible). If what we have seen are the final products, Bethesda did a terrible job on them. Oblivion's were far better, and that's saying something considering Skyrim's animation techniques are supposed to be superior.
- Characterization improvements, namely character weaknesses. I do not like the new "coax only" approach Bethesda is taking with the character creation (that is, you cannot have any weaknesses whatsoever). Dealing with weaknesses makes things a lot more fun, as it makes me fearful of certain encounters, for instance. Reward someone too much, and they will start taking advantage. I like it when games have teeth. I don't want to have to self-impose challenge, I prefer the game to provide it on its own.
- Proper fishing. I just can't wrap my head around grabbing fish out of the water with your bare hands. Does anyone have any idea how slippery they are?
- UI enhancement. The current HUD we have seen is one of the most intrusive I've ever had the misfortune of discovering. Anything to get that oversized message text and worthless HUD clutter out of my eyes will be worth its weight in gold.

To start.

I'm excited for some total conversion mods like Nehrim did to Oblivion. Its like getting two games in one.

Also, some graphics mods to make it look better.

If I would play Skyrim on a PC, then I would download horse breed mods, horse armor mods, a mount & blade mod, and possibly a mod that extends The Dark Brotherhood Questline.

Think there will be a mod allowing you to equip shields in your right hand? (this is my first Elder Scrolls games, and I'm unfamiliar with the norm with mods)

I'm a lefty, and since holding a shield in my right hand would be what I would do, I want it to be what my character would do as well.

YEAH! I'm sinister too! I want that, so I can equip sword #1 in my left hand and equip sword #2 in my right hand. :D
Although sometimes I do one-handed and shield, so that'd be a cool mod. Or equiping dual shields. ;)

shield on back. or at least an auto-unequip mod.

this is so far the only thing i dislike about the game, and will keep repeating it until the devs get the hint for the next version.

I seriously challenge them to strap 20lbs to their left (not right) arm for a day.

Awww, come on guys! Not a single person yet has said 'Quest mods!'. Really the only modding stuff I look forward too are the tools people make that are incredibly helpful. I will then use them to make some more quest mods... of which you all seem so excited for... :P

Definitely a UI mod if what we've seen is the final UI for the game. It's by far my biggest gripe with the game as far as I can tell so far.

1. UI mod most important ASAP.
2. GFX MODs second most important.
3. Gameplay mods - tons of extra perks, new spells, new weapons/armor, dungeons, quests, etc.

Removal of 3rd person finishers.

Addition of 1st person perspective for horseback riding.

Probably an experience slowing mod to keep from leveling too fast.

Darker dungeons/nights type mods, when available.

All of those except for the one I stroke out were exactly what I was going to post.

1 Dual wield blocking
2 If the level scalling svcks, then i hope we can get something like Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul for Skyrim.
3 texture mods is always nice.
4 Darker nights mod.

But i bet some of the first mods released is nvde mods and such.

- A revised HUD mod will be a must for me. See 1:06 into the second video posted earlier this week to know why. All of that text and level bars superimposed on the screen while fighting something looks really irritating. A lot of the UI elements are too big to be enjoyable close up on a computer monitor.

- Texture replacers. The overall atmosphere and theme of Skyrim both look incredible but a lot of the clothing and item textures are decidedly low rez and I don't have high hopes for whatever Bethesda is going to provide for PC users unless it's a huge separate texture download like Bioware did with DA2.

- One more. A FIX THE RAIN MOD. Even if it has to fall through ceilings at least make it look better than a bunch of ugly white lines. Thx modders.

- AI mods (looking at the trailer... brrrr).
- GUI
- Improved Stealth
- Texture packs and ambient mods (like weather mods, birds/butterflies etc... can't remember the mods names in oblivion).
- Probably more clothes/armor and combination of both (having armor + long skirt/kilt, for example.
- a mod that separates armor into difference pieces like in morrowind, although that is usually hard to do.
- spears, thrown weapons.

These are my most anticipated, but for some of them and many others, I will wait to play the game before thinking what they failed to implement properly in the game.

But I will wait for reviews before buying the game, in any case, of course. If there are no proper modding tools, I won't buy the game at all.

Graphics mods in general xD

Hopefully Ren can do something about the AI. Also, when SKYSE is out that will increase skyrim's mod capability by a lot.
How long did it take for a stable version of OBSE to get out?

important mods imo:

1. 2 perks per level - dont judge me :D
2. shield/sword switch place - from left to right
3. no fast travel - I get tempted
4. blocking with dual-wield

1. I'm really looking forward to all the short skirt and big boob stuff. what innovation will we see from modders this time around!? REALLY looking forward to that.
2. Variations on the lawnmower Dragon3000 which I hear will be implemented in the game. I'd like to see some new functions; like rideable lawnmowers and faster lawn mowing.
3. The Motorcycle mod. I also hope someone makes a garage to store my shiny red motorcycle in!
4. Hairy chests. Like they did in The Sims 3! It was even provided as DLC, so there's a great idea for DLC, Bethesda. Otherwise, someone please mod it.
