Your most efficient Spells...

In my opinion, being a Magic (particularly a Sorcerer such as myself) based character is best.

- You don't have to carry around big and heavy weapons.
- Your Armor can be
Spoiler
weightless
when using it long enough.
- Magic can best any weapon in my opinion.
- Instant opening of Chests, Doors, and Coffins (except for those pesky stupid iron-bar gates).

I'm a Master in Destruction, Alteration, and Illusion. For Destruction I always make some ridiculously powerful Spell for certain creatures. For Instance, I made three Destruction Spells called "Elemental Fire", "Elemental Frost", and Elemental Shock". Each Spell is 100 points of 5 seconds on Touch. I can easily drop a Xivilai with ONE hit from my Elemental Frost Spell. PLUS, using the Transcendent Sigil Stones, I have 800 Magicka and can cast those Spells 3 to 4 times, and having my Willpower at 100 helps also (I'm currently a Level 35). Daedroths? Storm Atronachs? Spider Daedra? Dremoras? ALL easily killed with my spells!

I also have a Paralyze Spell called "Freeze". Paralyze in 20 feet for 10 seconds, 285 Magicka Cost.

ANYWAY, on to my question... What are some of the best Spells you've made? :)

Are you using any mods? The highest magicka I've gotten was about 500, being a highelf with the Atronach birthsign.

Waterwalk on touch x 120 seconds. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv43/Acadian6/Cho%20Bk%201/ScreenShot811.jpg

Drain speed 100 x 1 second + weakness to poison 100 x 5 seconds + soul trap x 30 seconds - on target. My character casts this before a poison sneak bow attack. With the right poison it will allow her to one shot kill a (normally poison immune) storm atronach.

Summon clannfear x 20 seconds + invisibility on self x 20 seconds. Great panic button as you disappear and a hungry helper takes your place.

No sir. I'm a High Elf with the Mage Birth-sign. I then made sure (rather tediously) that the first nine Oblivion Gates that I went through after obtaining all of my Daedric Armor, two Ebony Diamond Rings, and a Jeweled Amulet (nine total items that can be enchanted) making SURE that I got either one of the two Transcendent Sigil Stones of Fortify Magicka 50 points. Use the Sigil Stones on the spot (after the Gate closes) and enchant your Armor and jewelry with the Sigil Stones. BAM, 800 permanent Magicka! :)

I play a soft Breton Mage so don't use armor I just use robes so hence my spells are more ranged based compared to touch spells. Through enchants, stats and gathering the right Sigil Stones I have just under 1100 Mana at level 32,

My favourite spell has to be Archmages Fury - Fire, Frost and Shock damage over 5 seconds, 50 points of each. It costs almost 200 Mana to cast so I can only get 4-5 of them off.

I also like my Smash Lock spell, its just a real simple open very hard lock spell but is on touch not target, makes those pesky Iron gates go away.

What mod are you using that allows an on touch unlock spell? In vanilla, the effect can only be used to make on target spells which makes opening locks underwater a bit of a problem.

I had a friend rewrite his one for me. He had written it for his version of Oblivion and not sure if he ever published it. I'll try and remember where I've put my copy and put it on Forums for you.

Lich Leech... I don't know remember the exact numbers, buts its an absorb health, magicka, and fatigue spell with long duration and large area. I think health and fatigue last for 5 seconds and magicka lasts for 7 seconds. I fight enemies in huge groups and just spam cast this is in the midst of the hack n slash. At 100 restoration I cast it and deal damage to all the enemies' health/magicka/fatigue, while having my own stats constantly regenerating super fast. And since the absorb magicka effect lasts the longest I can cast other spells, usually silence and paralyze, during the duration and still be at full magicka and ready to cast again by the time the spell wears off.

i think the most magcika efficent spell i have is weak fireball, got it from skingrad, costs like 4 magicka points lol, Wizards fury is really cool, it uses less magicka than it should, and since all my mages are atronocks its really important for them.

I always make a minor firestorm (around 20x3sec in 10 feet) firestorm (about 35-40x3sec in ten feet) and Greater Firestorm (50x3sec in ten feet) I also make a lightning version for deadra.

Paralyze is fun, but i rarely use it during a fight. I used to roll bears down hills when i got my illusion to 50, ah the good ol' days when ob still had its fun secrets for me

I know its not a spell but for my archers i always make a "bow of friend turner" command 25 points for idk 30ish seconds. I have the same spell on my mage, plus a large area effect spell of frenzy for those dense clusters of enemies ...or guards and citizens

Last Caress:
weakness to poison 50% for 25 sec on touch
Invisibility for 3 sec
chameleon 50% for 5 sec

my poison set up spell. chameleon / invisibility effects hide me when i apply the weakness to poison and allows me to set up my poisoned bow shot. Against less perceptive foes, also gives you a chance to reaquire stealth.

Really? I tried that and I get the Magicka cost to just a bit over 500 when on Target. On Touch it′s over 300

I have a spell I′d like to call Ragnarok from the Nordic myth about the end of the world.

Fire Damage 50 pts in 10 ft for 2 secs on Target
Frost Damage 50 pts in 10 ft for 2 secs on Target
Shock Damage 50 pts in 10 ft for 2 secs on Target
Damage Health 50 pts in 10 ft for 2 secs on Target
Paralyze for 5 secs in 10 ft on Target

Magicka cost? About 570
Can′t use this one without four Fortify Magicka potions (custom-made)

I'd like to make (and most likely will now) a ridiculous 600 magicka fire spell called Surtur's Fire.

My most recent spell-slingers have been hybrids, and they rarely have Magicka pools above the 500-600 range after equipment, so I tend to use lower magnitude (and cost) spells which have a self amplifying component to them. F'rinstance, a Fireball spell for me might look like:

Drain Health 100 pts 1 sec
Fire Damage 100 pts 1 sec
Soul Trap 1 sec
Weakness to Fire 100% 4 secs
Weakness to Magic 100% 4 secs

...which costs a bit over 100 to cast, and causes more and more drainage as well as fire damage each time you hit something with it, provided your next shot connects before the curse effect of the last one wears off. 4 seconds is usually plenty of time, though.

Oden's Fury:

Fire Damage 30 for 5 sec On Target.
Frost Damage 30 for 5 sec On Target.
Shock Damage 30 for 5 sec On Target.

All of that at a current magic cost of 30 (current Destruction skill: 91).

Maybe a bit overpowered, but it was about time my battlemage had a decent basic Destruction spell. Plus, one vendor (mod) offered it to me. How could I resist? :D

Like you said, 100 (element) for 5 seconds on touch iss really good and I use it a lot. But my all time favorite is a minute of paralysis. As I recall, It runs about 600 magicka, but it's totally worth it. And with only six applications of 100% weakness to magic, you can get it up to an hour, real time. I've never actually done that, but it would be amazing.

Touch of Death:

Disintegrate Armor 100 points on touch
Drain Health 100 points on touch
Fire Damage 100 points on touch
Frost Damage 100 points on touch
Shock Damage 100 points on touch

Pretty much one shots most anything at Lvl 38, except maybe those pesky goblins.

I use a 100% weakness to magic if I have destructiona s a major to prepare my enemies for my standard dmg spells. I also create a restore health 50 in 2 sec and a restore fatigue 100 in 3 sec when I have restoration as a major.
Btw be careful around enemies with reflect spell Kaspar ;)

Yeah, I ran into a Lich the other day. Casted one of Elementals at him and it killed me as he reflected it. Uncool. :l

Weakness to Fire 100 3 sec
Weakness to Shock 100 3 sec
Weakness to Magica 100 3 sec
Calm lvl 25 3 sec

The calm effect appearing last in the prep spell essentially paralyzes the target without falling over, even if fired from a non-detection standpoint (Calm must appear last).

This allows me to create and cast a magica efficient lower damage over long duration Fire / Shock DoT on a stationary target, saving efficiency from the compounded damage continuing to tick over time as the target attempts to close the gap into melee range.

Command Hum lvl 25 for 3 seconds

Magica efficient spell for groups of enemies. For 2 enemies positioned out of range from each other, firing at the furthest enemy from stealth position causes them to run towards you into the other enemies range. Short duration is all that's needed, even if the spell expires, the aggression level remains once enemies spot each other.
