the Game Industry has brought us countless interesting and Iconic characters.

but we all have those few characters that just stuck for us, we will always remember them and will occasionally think to ourselves while listening to music on the morning commute "you know.. this song fits perfectly!"..

So, name us some of your more memorable and beloved characters, be they mainstream or obscure, and why they are memorable..

here are a few of mine:

James Anderson (Outlaws by Lucasarts) - I began to really care about him as a character around my second play-through.. Simply an old law enforcement forced-retiree trying to live a peaceful life with his family on his ranch, but while he is out in town buying supplies his wife is violently [censored] and murdered, property razed and daughter kidnapped. he once again puts on his Holster and sets out to rescue his daughter, and meanwhile is haunted of memories of when his own father was killed infront of him and he was to fearful to stop it.. he was a simple man who only wants to save his daughter, and the fear he may not be able to brings back memories of when he failed to protect other loved ones.. Not to mention,i loved a few of his lines (like when the shop keep in the intro says "but James, you never shot an innocent man!", to which he turns and responds "thats because I never met an innocent man")..

Mithos Yggdrassill (Tales of Symphonia) - while i love the tales series, i will admit Symphonia has its faults and hasn't aged very well, but I still love Mithos as a character.. he is a complex character who may be a fallen hero, but still believes what he is doing is in the best interest of all.. he was hated and persecuted simply for being a half-elf, to the point a village refused to acknowledge his warnings of an attack because of it.. even after he ended a war that lasted centuries, a human he once trusted killed his sister right infront of him out of pure racial hatred.. Mithos, although twisted by his trauma, still believes his mission is beneficial to all and will end up saving the world. he may be sacrificing the lives of many, but because he feels in doing so he can create a world without discrimination or hatred, and revive his sister whos dying wish was to see such a world.. in a way, i can sympathize and even relate with Mithos

I will likely add a few more later, but this is a decent start..

So, who are some of your most memorable and beloved game characters? and what about them caused them to leave such a strong impact?

Shun Akiyama- The Yakuza series (4, Dead Souls and 5)

You can't hate a character as suave and classy as Akiyama is. He's also pretty smart and witty.

Tingle- Majora's Mask

He's Tingle, what's not to love?

Grigori- Dragon's Dogma

He's your main antagonist throughout most of the game, but he's also very mild mannered and well spoken for a feared dragon.

Mr. House- Fallout: New Vegas

How kind of uncultured philistine could say no to that sixy moustache?
