My serious opinion as an advlt:

What a **** of ****! This kind of advertisemant is the most immature and most stupid thing i could think of.
This game is clearly designed for advlts. But with this kind of marketing they spread the word about their title only among kiddies. Whitch are not meant to dismember and slash down Zombies. Who in the world would care so less about his child and let he or she play dead space or Postal 2 or anything like this?` Kids just cant handle that kind of stuff yet. With 16 or 17 i would say its okay.. but underaged kids are out of the question!
About the mom`s : Of course they hate it ( some even almost started to cry [and thats when i got really angry] ) my mom couldnt even sit through poltergeist, the stuff that is shown indeadspace would probably make her puke. So if youre a immature kiddie you will love that kind of promoting.

But i will still buy Dead Space 2... but everyone who buys it for their children : Start to think about how you want to raise your kids!

Preorderd Dead Space 2.

U should let parents make their own decisions wether their children should play violent games or not.
When I was in elementry school everybody played stuff like Gta San Andreas it was just fun.
I cant remember sombody had some real agressions or stuff like that. :)

@ Badepron

If you let parenst make their own decisions its obvoius that the discussion about the so called "Killerspiele"
will go on and on. Or must i remember you about what happened after Winnenden an Erfurt? The next manic dypressive child who runs amok and played Dead Space 2 before will cause an imidiate ban in our country and you know that! And this kind of advertisemant is fodder for the press ( like Bild and stuff) to cause even more damage
to an already wounded image of german gamers.

Well its obviously not the games fault.
Kids like him do this kinda stuff because everybody treats them bad, theryre getting "gemobbt", du weisst was ich mein.
And so the press talks **** about gaming only because the dude played cs.

In terms of that theyll ban games I personnly dont really care because I can get the uk or the austrian version.
And blocking systems can be avoided.

Actually I'm a gamer ... otherwise I wouldn't be here. And I played lots of games that contained violence. I consider my behavior not aggressive in any way. Okay ... at least I didn't suffer from playing games. ;)
But I wouldn't want my younger brother see or play something like Dead Space. And to be honest most parents don't have the knowledge to decide if a game is suitable for a young person or not ... Why do we always care about games ... I wouldn't want my brother watch movies that I think he is not old enough for yet. If you asked my brother he would say he *is* old enough. It's always about two sides claiming two different things and you have to meet somewhere in the middle. As a older brother I'm something of a role model for my younger brother. He tends to be interested in music/movies/games that I'm in. But I'm older and I try to avoid encouraging him to play games that don't suit his age.

I'm 12 and I'm responsible enough to not play Red Dead Redemption, GTA and Dead Space, so what's the fuss all about?

IDK, when it first came out I was 12 and it didnt scare me at all, there is a difference from starling and scary.

I was about 14 when Half life 1 came out. And my parents hated it for being a violent game.
For my own sake my father was a huge Duke Nukem 3d Fan so i could play FPS as an underaged kid.

But since then games have changed drasticly... some are redicilously violent and look way more realistic than any Doom 2 or Dn3D or half life or any other game i grew up with. But today more and more kids get desensitized for violence and gore etc. Thats not a good thing i think. If violence amuses you instead of being shocking youre on a wrong way. Because in the real world violence will never help you to solve anything.. it will cause more violence.

Played Dead Space a while ago and I lovet it for it's story and the gameplay, not the most splattering effects in a game, but to show how serious the game is, such extremeties are implemented, but still, blood and gore does not make a game. Ich hoffe nur, dass es nicht geschnitten wird, oder gar nicht erscheint.

I love gore in games but I hate violence in real life.
Gore just adds something to the game it makes u know that u shot this guy and u did something.
I even like over the top gore its like an old splatter movie just fun.

Saw DeadSpace 2 last night and it looks really, really nice. Graphics are very crisp! I only had a quick turn but tell ya what, the enemies jump up on you real quick. I was shooting one, then saw one behind me, turned around, turned around again and i was surrounded! Scary! :3

"It's not a game. It's a dangerous... mind-altering demonic weapon." said one of the moms. I love that comment but I don't agree with it because Dead Space 2 IS a game.
I loved the first Dead Space-game so I probably will get Dead Space 2. Haven't pre-ordered it though.
