I am doing exactly this now for the first time. I'm usually a sneak thief, but have been having a blast with an Orc barbarian prior to starting the mage. I watched my son start a mage and I had to give it a shot. The previous suggestion of not going head first into a fight is spot on. That was one of my biggest adjustments after having been a heavy armor death machine.

This. Take Sam up on his offer for a drink when you see him (unless, of course, this goes against your RP). The Rose and a follower have been most helpful.

I'd rather just level conjuration to 65 and buy the "conjure dremora lord" spell from Phinis at the College. I don't really like being a Daedric Prince's bi*ch

I've got a Breton going right now, who's kind of unformed. But I may make her a stealth archer and mage type, and have her enlist J'Zargo as a follower. I forgot how funny he was.

Or maybe a dual-wielding orc who relies heavily on Shouts (Ice Form, or Frost Breath with the Dragonborn upgrade). The Voice and dual-wielding kind of go together.

Hmm, I am definitely making another mage. I love magic. I have played several warriors but the concept is pretty boring to me. I'm thinking this:

Type: Conjurer-illusionist with destruction as a passive skill. Alteration, restoration and enchanting will all be helpful.

Race: Well, I'm a svcker for Nords.. So a male Nord it is

Stats: I'm thinking most on magic and zero on stamina. Some on health, maybe.

Choosing a type isn't that hard. What's hard is making up a cool-sounding name. I wanna have a hyphenated surname.

I started a new character in Oblivion, although iv'e taken a break ATM from TES. In future though, whenever i return to Skyrim, i'd like to create a Spellsword character.

Race: Imperial.

Diffiuclty setting: Adept.

Major skills: 1H, Light Armor, Destruction, Alteration, Restoration.

Minor skills: Conjuration.

Tactics: Prior to battle i will use a flesh spell to bulk up my AR. And i will use basic destruction spells to compliment my damage output or heal myself with restoration spells. Eventually replacing destruction spells with cloak damage spells. I'll use low level conjured creatures if needed against multiple enemies, with the aim to have a maximum of the storm atronach to rely upon in tight situations.

I want to make an Orc. Pure brute badass. No magic, no mercy. Just killing. Slaughtering. Slicing heads off.

Yeah, the Dremora Lords are nice and the double perk is even nicer. My current dark knight character uses Conjuration. Unfortunately, I won't be using Conjuration with the Dunmer. I'll likely be sticking with Destruction as my primary skill, some Illusion and very little Restoration. I will have a follower along eventually, so that should help out if I feel a little weak and overwhelmed until I can become more powerful.

I'm making a hyrbid Thief/Mage. I rarely ever like to go with a "cookie cutter class" so I generally make it up as I develop my characters backstory.

My next project will be something along the lines of a cross between Vex, and J'zargo. A sneak thief, and an arrogant mage, but he'll have a surprise up his sleeve.

Reyortsed (write it backwards :D) is the name.

Imperial or Khajiit or High Elf will likely be the race. Just because I like nice looking characters. Plus, it's fun walking around as a high elf that's resorted to thieving. "Gimme your gold, or I shove this fireball down your throat. Ra ra!"

His main weapons will be magic, bows, and daggers.

His main magic skills will likely be conjuration and destruction, with a slight leaning in Illusion.

Main skills will be enchanter, just because mucho dinero, sneaking/lockpicking/pickpocketing, (he's a thief, duh) and alchemy. (I'm a poison addict.)

He'll be the moody type, not much for speaking or anything.

He'll obviously be going into the Vampire Lord class from Dawnguard. (Hence the name)

Understood. I haven't messed with any of the Daedric quests in a long time. Thought it would fit this particular RP and I found it helpful.

I usually just end up messing with the Daedric Princes (like Mehrunes Dagon), but know this: You do not mess with Hermaeus Mora. Ever.
