Your opinion about over enchanted equipment?

Post » Sat Sep 07, 2013 8:54 am

I would like to ask for all players here, your opinion if you think what it's cheating,enchant/alchemy and enchant over and over again until the equipment get very high percentage on the choosen enchantment.

What is your opinion about that?I meet many players which have a very high percentage of enchantment the equipment, and I think what that's not fair,a glitch/bug,having too much percentage of certain enchantment on your suit/equipment,will make the game too easy, and make it less fun and challenging, even on legendary difficulty.

So,what is the opinion of you gentlemen? Is it cheating,to do that?Do you feel good leaving the game being very easy?On my opinion,we were supposed to keep the enchantment what the game has purposed to us to keep,at a normal level. Thanks for the compreension ladies and gentlemen,I hope what my words were the most clearly possible to everyone.

Do what you want. It's a single player game. I could care less about what you do, it doesn't affect me.

I'm currently using the Amulet of Talos glitch, its the only form of ranged attack I have on my Nord pure warrior Dragonborn.

Are you trying to be arrogant or you don't recognize how that sounds to someone who read that?Or I am sorry for just interpreting you wrong.Because,my point is,I ask if that looks like 'cheating' on your opinion, and if you feel comfortable, making the game more easier on that way.

I was actually thinking about this same thing lol, Im playing on legendary difficulty i made it so that i have the best possible upgrades for my gear using the alchemy/enchant glitch without the restoration potion. i think you get 29% smithing on the enchanted gear and 142% better smithing with the smithing potion. thats the highest i believe, so i dont really go past that because i do kind of like a challenge, but when im in trouble i pull out this one hit kill bow that i used the restoration thing for. its 2147m gold and has maximum damage. i also added fire enchantment that lasts forever, to you know, look like a badass.

EDIT: believe me even with this gear, id be using maxed out (my version of maxed out) daedric with dragonbone weapons...the npcs are freaking hard to kill.

Nice to meet you,do you think what that's cheating,to have 47% enchantment on the bow and two handed weapons at the equipment?

The "could care less what you do" applies to everyone. If you think its cheating, then its cheating. If its not...its not.

Its all a matter of perspective. I think of them as unintended features.

Didn't realize that sounded arrogant.

Well, then that means what that is not cheating for you?And if I ask what just having 47% on two handed and archery,it's fair, right?

With the mods I use, over-enchanting is required to even survive in the game. :D

Another exploit thread, oh boy.

I've got weird opinions about Exploiting and Balance. I think games that have a significant challenge component should be as balanced as possible, however I have no problem with exploits.

When something is unbalanced without a mechanical exploit it creates a problem, the solution to which (And one that pretty much everyone throws at me) creates another problem itself. For example, Smithing in Skyrim becomes grossly overpowered when paired with Enchanting. Not even speaking of Smithing+ Enchantments, just your basic Attack+ Gear. Eventually you can make and improve weapons that turn the game into a boring mess just by playing naturally. The "Solution" Often thrown at me is "Well, just gimp your character" but the very act of gimping your character causes you to divorce your mind from game logic, ruining any semblance of immersion within the game world. So there's that.

Exploiting on the other hand, requires just that issue to perform. You need to know that the developers accidently allowed an infinite loop of buffing within the enchanting-alchemy system. There's no natural way to exploit this oversight. Because avoiding this exploit doesn't require me (my character) to divorce his/her mind from game logic, it is a non-issue for those seeking to maintain an immersing experience.

I hope that makes sense...

If I may just take a moment. The proper use by your context is: I Couldn't care less.. What you said implies that you do in fact, care what happens in other people's games, which is antithetical to the rest of your statement.

It doesn't matter what I think. ;)

If you think having 47% on Two Handed and Archery is fair, that's all on you. Whatever it takes to survive.

No problem, I see that mistake all the time. I hear it all the time even. I'm not trying to be one of those "I Couldn't find anything wrong with your opinion so I will correct your grammar and spelling", I just think it's a common courtesy just in case you do run into someone like that. If you've got a valid opinion to make, it really svcks having it disarmed by a Grammar Nazi.

It's single-player. If someone wants to abuse something, let them. If they don't want to, they shouldn't. Personally, I don't, but that's just because it's less work to use the Creation Kit and stick a sword in the middle of Whiterun with 1000 damage and a powerful, long-lasting Consume Health enchantment.

No, I've heard of them, and might have seen one or two without actually knowing. My friend is always going on about them.

A once holy land, that is now infested with heretical troglodytes who cling on to the once glorious race they were in ye olde times.

The restoration glitch is a glitch that was never patched.

Using the enchant, alchemy, then enchant again is neither a glitch nor a cheat. It is an obvious and intended gameplay mechanic and there is a cap on how much benefit you can get from it. It's a fair amount of work to hit that cap and I have never done it myself but I don't see a problem with it.

The glitch was fixed on PC by the unofficial patches.

My current character only uses Alchemy and Smithing, so I don't consider my character as OP.

Well if Bethesda would balance the game instead of copping out by letting you go until you think you're good then this discussion would happen less often. Seriously why put the fortify skill potions in the game? Balance wise it makes no sense. The fact is certain limitations are needed, or else you risk breaking the game.

But to answer your question, I think 47% on both is ok.
