Your opinion on all the DLC

Post » Tue Aug 02, 2011 2:38 am

I have all the DLCs for Fallout 3 and New Vegas and it bugged me how the likes of tribals who wear less armour/clothes than raider/fiends can withstand my combat shotgun from close range with 95% of hitting, last night I was in Point Lookout and 4 hill billies ambushed me it took me 3 clips of the combat shotgun and 10+ stimpaks to kill them and I was Lv.15 at the time, the tribals aswell were taken 4/5 shots to the head needless to say my shotgun broke and my Chinese AR is not far off this was my most looked foward to DLC of the lot and its been more annoying than HH's tribals language.
So what pesters you within the DLCs you have, whats your fav and least fav DLC an why is that the case?

1. Operation Anchorage - Indestructible Power Armor, unlimited stealth boy sneak suit and a powerful energy sniper rifle.
2. Dead Money - It was just good.
3. Dead Money - Bomb collar galore!
4. Mothership Zeta - People complain about reavers, makes me wonder if they've every faced an alien with a power shield of max level on Very Hard.
5. The Pitt - This place should have been an expansion, seriously, it was so unique and had so much potential that was absolutely wasted by having it be a 2 hour long DLC.

1. Operation Anchorage:: Indestructible Power Armor and a glitch to let you get some sweet weapons? Fudge yeah.
2. Operation Anchorage:: I liked it. (Dead Money is a close second)
3. Dead Money:: Freakin Collars...
4. Broken Steel:: I HATED going to AAFB. Taking on 30+ Enclave troopers wasnt all that fun. I couldn't kill them for poop until I went back about 5 levels and ranked up my Energy weapons to like 80 and used the Tesla Cannon
5. Honest Hearts:: I'm what I know to be, one of the few people who actually enjoyed the setting of Zion Valley. I feel like if the story was expanded more, alot more people would have enjoyed it.

Listing so far released F3 and NV DLCs...

1. The Pitt. No overpowered rewards, really intriguing story and the atmosphere is just fantastic. Only bad side in it was that it was the shortest DLC.
2. Old World Blues. The dialogue is by far the best among DLC. Hilarious characters, especially Muggy, Toaster and Dr. Dala.
3. Point Lookout. Best gameplay out of the DLC, plus the items are really nice without being overpowered. The atmosphere is fantastic if a bit out-of-place.
4. Honest Hearts. Because of Joshua Graham. It was awesome to see finally someone else than the protagonist who could actually achieve something without considerable help.
5. Broken Steel. Didn't really like the story (although I'm obviously biased here) the new enemies and level cap raise was much needed.
6. Operation: Anchorage. While writing was average at best, I liked its atmosphere. For once we had a clear blue pre-war sky with snow and stuff.
7. Dead Money. IMO tedious combat, out-of-place setting. The reward items were nice though.
8. Mothership Zeta. Do I even need to explain? A bit bonus points for MPXL Novasurge and best dialogue among Fallout 3 DLC. But the setting is just too much a mood killer and the tedious combat.

What do you mean by Spongers? Dictionary.com says it's a parasite.

OA definitely had the most overpowered loot so that was an easy choice.
The Pitt has the most memorable story of the DLC's in either game (which honestly isn't saying much).
DM was more annoying than challenging, but there you go.
No friggen idea what "spongers" refers to. Literally never heard that term before in my life.
And finally HH had the most well-designed setting. Pretty much all it had going for it except for the loot.

As for the rest, never played Mothership Zeta and never will. Looks incredibly stupid and trite. Probably hated OWB for the same reasons (really not my kind of humor excluding a few funny quips by the appliances). Never gave Point Lookout a shot but it actually looked promising.

Bullet Sponges.
Those new DLC enemies that have about 2-3 times the health the enemies from the orignal game have, that also hit harder then said orignal enemies.
Examples:
Fallout 3: Feral Ghoul Reavers, Swampfolk, Tribals, Aliens
Fallout New Vegas: Lobotimites, Robo-Scorpions.

My List:
Loot: Honest Hearts, .45 Auto Pistol and SMG are some of my favourite guns
Story: Dead Money
Challenge: Dead Money
Bullet Sponges: Old World Blues
Location: Old World Blues, I liked the places of Big MT. The enemies, not so much.

I haven't really played Fallout 3 since New Vegas came out. That's why I don't have any of the Fo3 DLC's listed.

Completely agree.

The Pitt had so much more potential (which is saying quite a bit, since I thought it was amazing as is).

1. Operation anchorage - Indestructable power armor and gauss rifle oh my
2. Dead Money - it was pretty good and to the point
3. OWB - completely took me by surprise, I died the most in that one
4. Forgot already... Either chose OWB or Point Lookout...
5. The Pitt - as previously stated it was unique, and I love Pittsburgh, when I first played it I was expecting some kind Steelers gear or something, at least to be able to go into the stadium.
