In your opinion, just how good will Skyrim be? : V

I've seen some pretty conflicting opinions about just how good Skyrim of a game it will be. Some say the best game of all time, while some say that it's way over-hyped. So, I decided to see just how many people felt each way.

Also, please don't say "it's not out yet" or something like that. This is to see how good people think it will be.

Who knows. I certainly don't. But I do belive it will be an extremely good game, but with noticeable flaws.

I can't decide between 1 and 2. Even the best game of all time will have flaws. My current favorite (in my opinion, the best game of all time) is noticeably flawed. :shrug:

My prediction? I think the vanilla game will be very comparable with GTA IV in terms of it's reception. A great game by itself and easily the most well-polished Elder Scrolls game to date, but receiving mixed opinions from fans.

Like GTA IV it will be a victim of it's own hype to some extent.

Although, we can mod the hell out of it and make it how we want it to be, so there's really no reason why it cannot become one of the best games ever over time.

My inner really devoted fan screams, "teh bestest game evuh11111".

While I do truly believe SR has the potential to be Beth's crowning achievement, I think it's best to temper my expectations and say it will be a very solid 9 out of 10.

That was discussing what people think about the level of hype the game has; not the game itself.

This is discussing what people actually think about how good the game will be.

Option 1 is unrealistic really devoted fan crap. Option 2 will be the reality as always, but the flaws are only small scratches on a large bar of valuable gold.

The info so far suggests, to me, that Skyrim will be a decent sandbox adventure with emphasis on dungeoncrawling and running around (like all recent Beth games), but average to below average RPG (also like the recent Beth games). Verdict so far, "meh" with a hint of hope from upcoming info. Nothing really new under the sun.

Imo.

I certainly hope not. GTA IV is dumbed down in almost every way from San Andreas. I would be mortified.

Why is option 1 unrealistic? It's all subjective when stating what you're favorite of all time is. About that word, yea it's censored because some people deem it as derogatory.

Because no game can be perfect, and no game can be the best since that varies from person to person.

"really devoted fan" doesn't have as much punch.

Don't know, havn't checked the scores of Oblivion truth to say I started playing Oblivion a year after it's release might aswell be with Skyrim, because I am waiting for the GOTY edition ....
