Your questions they missed in the interview

Post » Sat Oct 09, 2010 1:18 am

My question they didnt ask was what editions they are going to have of Skyrim. For example; Collectors, Limited, Dragonborn edition?
And do they even want to make any other editions of the game apart from standard

Post your questions below! They watch the forums and If everybodys questions are in here they are more likely to be answered (please listen to the podcast before asking questions to avoid re-posting the same questions!)

Attributes. In or out?

And no, Todd only talking about choosing your race for character creation doesn't count as an answer to that.

Tbh, I'll buy it whatever they say, so all I want to know is the PC spec. so that I can try to estimate how much cash to save for a PC to run it :P

I asked if we'd see all 16 (or 17) Daedric Princes in one form or another, such as Shrine quests. Not a pressing issue, but it's an important thing for me. I don't mind that they didn't get around to it. They asked the questions that were more important. I just didn't want a bunch of repeats of what I'm sure everyone else asked.

Seeing as it's designed to run on 5 year old hardware just fine (Xbox 360), I think the system requirements shouldn't be too huge.

If you can run Fallout 3, then you can probably run Skyrim no problem.

He said "basically character creation is choosing what your character looks like." That's pretty sure.

I don't own a PC at all, so I'm saving until the spec comes out and then getting one based on that (from what people like you have said, with any luck I'll be able to afford one that's slightly better, but I'm not counting on it as I'm pretty poor :P)

they do have improvements in sneaking. If they think they see you they wont immediately attack you, they go and check it out first so you have time to get out of there. At least thats what GI said

He also mentioned that they are giving special attention to the PC.

You really despise this game, don't you? Huh, we barely have any information on it and yet you dislike it.

Will MK (or someone of equally skilled writing caliber combined with knowledge of lore) write the in-game books? Or will it be some intern dev?

^
Probably question numero uno for me :read:

You sure like to assume things, don't you?

Huh. You have barely any evidence on what I think of this game, yet you assume I don't like it.

Anyways, even though that's true, the game is designed to run on 5 year old hardware, so I imagine the requirements to run it won't be too high. Those requirements might not be able to run it on ABSOLUTE MAX, but they'll run it alright.

dismemberment was talked about a little bit, Todd said that there would not be the level of violence that was in Fallout

Ah. I see.

As stated, the requirements shouldn't be too high, so I imagine a computer running for around $400 should be able to run it fine, perhaps even better than the console version. Maybe not run it on the highest settings possible, but better than the console versions for sure.

This isn't really an important question, but I was wondering if they were including staves of the magical variety. I want to get a Harry Dresden vibe going.

My most pressing issue is spellmaking.
Then armor slots.
I'd like to know more about the level scaling too.

I have a 400$ computer I bought 2 years ago and I can't even play oblivion on Low Graphics setting without a lot of lag.

I wanted to know what the connection was between The Infernal City and Skyrim. Was it just a "oh, BTW, the Septim dynasty is over, and there's these Mede guys in power now, but they're not doing a great job", or is it more along the lines of "Sul and Attrebus defeated Vuhon, causing Umbriel to crash into Skyrim, and the impact woke up Alduin" (or whatever)?

All gameplay questions, no backstory (except for the Dragonborn part, but we already know that). I'm kinda disappointed.

Just wait as long as you can and get the best you can for your coin. I know that sounds simple but it really is. GPU, Motherboard and CPU most important

When I posted this my post was locked ...

Anyway I repost my questions since the questions that finally made up to the Podcast where really stupid or already treated ...

1 Will there be more armour slots like morrowind?

2 Will Cold and weather affect the player and how is dressed?

3 Will there be a hardcoe mode?

4 Will be possible to use boats and vessels or other forms of vehicles like carts?

5 Will there be seasons?

6 will encumbrance and armour affect on players speed and possibility to swim?

7 Will there be open cities?

8 will be possible to have fly spell or the like?

I 'd have more but I guess for now are enough ....

My questions were about the inclusion of werewolves and spell making.

Apparently they're not currently in, but might be by the release...

I don't like the sounds of that.

And wtf is with this levelling faster [censored]? I modded oblivion to level WAYYYYYY slower. I don't want to get too outraged at that though, after all with perks instead of specialized skills it's gonna work quiet different.

Another thing that bothered me is the one question about the map size. The person asking actually thought Oblivion was almost too big? Really?
I was hoping Todd would say they would be disappointed by Skyrim being way larger, but unfortunately that's not the answer we got. It's gonna be about the same size.
Of course with the towering mountains everywhere perhaps we'll get more of a Morrowind effect of the world seeming larger than it really is.

At least there was some good news in the way Todd hinted at UI optimization for the PC.

I guess I was hoping to hear about:

Attributes, and if they are out, then how certain things - like encumbrance, spell resistance, etc. - will work.
Speechcraft - how will conversations work? How useful will this skill be?
The effort that has gone into writing dialogue and quest story lines.

Wishful thinking for the last two, of course. More disappointing that the first wasn't discussed - it would have been natural to raise this when character creation was asked about.

Will there be levitation?

Will there be an Unarmored skill or will those of us who hate all encumbrance systems once again be forced to either be mages or regularly commit suicide by just refusing to wear it?
