HD Textures mods makes my game unstable.

Increased Wasteland Spawns - more targets, more fun!

Pre-Order DLC Alternatives - if you late for official ones, makes start on high difficulties a bit easier.

FNV_MoreVendorCaps - must have, makes much easier to sell loot. And IWS makes much loot.

Improved Regen Implant - makes useless one useful and worth it's price.

Level Cap 100 - really 50 after one of patches. Makes possible to max all skills.

Mob Respawn 1 day - non-stop the fan!

MTUI - vanilla UI is stupidly ineffective about screen space. One who made it is [censored]. It's muche better, but still not perfect.

Perk Every Level - like in Fallout 3.

Vendor bulk buy fixer - fixed annoying vanilla bug.

There's another thread on recommended mods somewhere here. I suggest you check it out as it has a more comprehensive list. Also, i personally check the BOSS thread for mods i might like.

That's an interesting strategy, never thought of that. It actually works pretty well, you get to see what mods other people have started using but haven't been around very long yet or are somewhat unknown, because BOSS doesn't recognise them. :D

Also, not forget about community bugfix compilation patch - it should be official, but they doing DLCs and have no time for fixing bugs.

"Recommended Mods" is highly subjective, just because someone recommends a mod, doesn't mean you'll like it.
There's a list of "Recommended Mods" floating around on this board, that, out of the list,
I would use maybe Two of the Mods, as the other Mods on the list, I either Don't Like, or they Don't interest me.
So your BEST solution is to find mods YOU like.

I've been here since 2003, you're just the tip of the iceberg of people who are going to come in here
and ask everybody "What mods do you recommend" without ever having touched a "SEARCH BUTTON" in your life.

So congratulations on being number 1 of 30,000 who are going to be asking the SAME QUESTION.

As a matter of fact, go over to the Oblivion Section of the Forum, I bet there are STILL people
over the asking "Wat r the Good mods PLZ" and oblivion has been out since 2006.

Don't be lazy, I found all the mods I use by looking.
And half of the ones I use aren't on any "magical list" you're looking for.

My Mods list, is MY MOD LIST....nobody else's, and I'm sure that there are Mods on My Mod list that people would hate.

And some of the mods on my Mod List are ones that I've made, so they aren't even on the nexus.
Not for FONV anyway....I doubt I'd release my mods for this game..

Works just fine for me with a new or existing game. Might be a conflict with something else. How many other mods do you have and, if lots, do you use a merged or bashed patch?

Agree with OR. There's one almost every week :)

If you take a peak in my signature, The Collector adds a short quest to the game. I figure that = gameplay. :)

If you are starting a new game you would do well to try out

nVamp

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1164997-relz-nvamp-new-vegas-advanced-mod-project/

which is quickly becoming what FCOM was to Oblivion

Yes its a pain to install but look at all that good stuff it contains! Including other mods listed above-but all working together

Admittedly threads like this pop up every so often, but then again there are always folks coming up with *less* then helpful replies. Which oddly enough only serve to bump said threads.

My method of finding new mods, is either spotting release threads, seeing something new pop up in the nexus files of the month category. Or finally seeing lists people occasionally post of stable load orders(also known as the 'see a mod with an interesting name, look it up' method).

which you just did anyway lolz

OP-I have not been on these forums for this game long but I will tell you it is a board that is not all that active. In contrast the Oblivion mod board is very active. However, at Nexus-their forums for this game are overflowing. I would spend my time around there-good stuff. The mod I recced to you, nVamp, has only recently come out but is already at the #2 download spot for the last 2 weeks. Check it out...

Difference being, I added something to the discussion, mainly, how I go about finding mods. I really don't understand why people like typing things like "lolz". In what way does a simple lol fail? It some new fangled thing you youngsters have come up with. Murdering the English language I tell you! :foodndrink:

*note this post would have little constructive use if it ended here*

Anyhow, some mods I like, project Nevada, Book of Earache - Vegas Edition, electro-city

To Everyone, i know there other threads, but seems like they old, and all latest mods out,

also i tryed Nvamp (just 2days actually, played for like 1hour no crashe's, then the Sky, turned completely black, dark as anything, cnt barely even see the weapon, also the companions face, even the Fire i'm near seems dark

so has anyone who tryed nvamp, got this problem? must be a conflict or somthing with the sky texture mods.

http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40040 and http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39651 are what i won't hesitate to recommend to everyone. (I prefer WMX over WME, since WMX is from the author who made the original WMK mod for Fallout 3 ;)).

Yea....WMX all the way....there's one example where he's going to need to read up on FNVedit, and it's all explained in the readme.txt

Personally I like to make these topics into little fun satirical lists so that I can just go http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=1072579 whenever one of these topics comes up.... Haven't updated it in a while though, and haven't made one for New Vegas obviously.

What I would really like to see is a like "compiled reviews" topic. Not stuff like: "this mod svcks", "this mod made me have a sixual completion", etc. but stuff like say:

*Mod Name*
* short1-2 sentences of what it does*
Mod contains themes of: -ninja's -campy dialogue -new meshes and textures -generic storyline and characters - medium difficulty -dungeon crawl -fetch quests - small length -etc.

Basically hundreds of made-up "tags" contributed by the community, to correctly describe all sorts of mods. There would be like an initial assessment period where after 3-10 people submit the same tag or similar tag the mod would be added to the list with that tag. Then as more people submit different tags for that mod those tags would be added on too.

This way:
1: you can't be tricked by over zealous advertisers into trying a mod that really isn't for you, but you were lead to believe it was.
2: You can just open the topic and do a quick ctrl+f to find what you want, like: Ctrl+f: romance, or bloody, or evil, or action, or cerebral, or realism, or hardcoe, etc, new mod user friendly, etc.
3: It'll be a place to direct people when they make topics like this.

Now obviously it'd be nice and neat with a key, table of contents, color coding, etc. And there wouldn't be any absolutely good/bad tags like: "svcks", or "must have!".... maybe more like "buggy", or "improves/adds content without making any negative changes to theme, difficulty, etc."... or somethings like that at the most.

IN reply to the actual topic:

Project Nevada
Bobblehunt
Hitman
Decisions with regrets
The Collector
more perks
Mojave express expansion

Good Idea, however, this would require EFFORT on the "Wat r Good Mods PLZ?" crowd, because they'd have to actually "Search" the thread,
apparently something they are allergic to, or find abhorrent, otherwise the "Wat R good Mods Plz?" threads wouldn't exist.

Somebody should make the guy you escort from Little Lamplight to Bigtown constantly ask that question, "Wat R teh Good Mods PLZ?" "R they compatible w each other?"
also the annoying fan in Oblivion, as a tribute to the Thousands and Thousands of people who have started one of those threads.
