Your Sindarin Elf Name?

Post » Mon Jan 06, 2014 7:26 am

http://elf.namegeneratorfun.com/

Make sure to use your full name (first, middle and last) and post down below what you come up with. I did this when I came up with a backstory which used a lot of elves. You can basically enter in a specific personality and get lots of different Sindarin Elf names show up with their meanings aswell.

So what is your Sindarin Elf name?

Mine is Orndir.

Tree (orn)

Young man (dir)

I advise people against clicking that link..

apart from being littered with adds that are likely harmful (I mean seriously "Input name to access public records? yeah, that doesn't scream malicious intent), if I try and click the Page, Avast! has a seizure

Meh. Maybe "beer-vessel" would've sounded better.

Mine came up Albion or something. I'm not sure what the point of inputting my name does then.

Sindarin. A fictional elven language invented by Tolkien. You do know Tolkien, right?

I got Rivornel:
Black Crown (r?+morn)
Female (el)

Pretty cool.

If I enter only my first name, I get pipeweed. :hehe:

I've seen the movies but the books are a chore to read, so I put them on hold for a few years.

Sorry, too paranoid to put my whole name in there. Just reeks of 'scam potential'.

I just used my username, which apparently has zero effect on the elven name.

My result was Lorndir. My input was too inappropriate to post on the forums

yeah, I clicked the link, and not only did Avast! have a sudden "Threat Detected" Seizure, but the first thing I saw on the page was "Input your name for free a access to all public records"..

Which is why in my prior post I advised people not to press the link..

Yeah, I'm not putting my full name in there. No harm is putting 'Ryan', though.

I am Eglachon, apparently.

I didn't see anything to input a name besides the elf related stuff. It could be because I have java-script disabled for most anything until I authorize a domain.

its more of a phishing thing, which this site is so obviously is, the real goal is just to have you put in your full name and random vague background info on you. like the themes and stuff.

i just love that there is some guy looking over a list of names and then gets butt[censored]er from me

I see what you're saying. In that case just do what I did and use a fake name. I used my username which is a fake name, and avoided as many other options as possible under the assumption it would base my elf name from my username crippknottick. It didn't, so well I guess it reinforces that it very well be a phishing site.

I never got any popup that said anything like that about inputting a name. In fact, i dont get any pop ups when i go to that site. the only time the name input thing for the elf name shows up is if you select the "use your name" option or whatever.

i think your avast also might see it as a threat because instead of www. it is elf. which is probably unrecognizable from most software (i mean ive never seen a site with that prefix before).

Either

Gruichon

Meaning:

Ruddy (gruin)

Brother (hawn)

or

Gelluichon

Meaning:

Triumphant (gellui)

Brother (hawn)

depending on the addition or removal of the last vowel of my first name.

I see nothing to say it is other than a fun site so the link can stay. However, it always pays to be internet safe and not give out too much information. :)

My name comes up as Rusgon which apparently is Male Fox - so much excitement I need a cup of tea now.
