Up in the snowy mountains.

ahhh...fresh air...

That would be great... but what happens if you did build your home up in the snowy mountains and then forgot where it was?

A remote log cabin which isn't too small and of course a luxury house in the capital with plenty of display cases ;)

Best of both worlds!

Im still crossing my fingers for some kind of nuka cola object in skyrim, as i loved collecting it in FO3. (obviously not cola though)

I'd like my home in the volcanic tundra, but I don't want to be near dormant volcanoes. I'd like it if nearby volcanoes said "Hello!" once in a while....

On that note, I hope there is a village nearby as well. Villagers don't like it when volcanoes say "Hello!", and it would be funny seeing the villagers flee from the river of lava flowing towards them.

Well, it would probably not be so funny after realizing that the home I purchased is in this village...Oh well, I asked for a home with a view of volcanoes hoping for some volcanic activity, and I'm on the front row!:celebration:

That could make an interesting quest sequence... to help the villagers or to save your stuff... anyway, I like your style!

I think that's a great idea, perhaps if you lived on the side of a mountain you would be at risk to the possibility of avalanches.

...Except when you realize you started the MQ, and while your at home reading a book, the Graybeards call you with a dragonshout that causes an avalanche and all we hear is this muffled "FFFUUUU--".

On topic, I hope for something like the Rosethorn house quest or Battlehorn house quest, but a bit more elaborate.

Perhaps adding an option "It depends on my character" to the poll would be nice ? After all, my medieval duellist will prefer wealthy places, when my assassin won't mind staying at more quiet places.

if I was a programmer and you had a cliffside shack... Id set up a little easter egg that from a certain vantage point your house would be lost in a landslide..... imagining the look on your unsuspecting face - that would make me laugh with glee. Picking up your belongings from the wreckage would be hard to script...

I always tried to be role play being homeless in oblivion, but I never could fin a place where my objects would magically disappear if it was not under the roof of a house with a door that said "My house".

Not sure, I'd love to have a nice home/castle but not in the middle of a city. Maybe more along the lines of Fighter's Stronghold

I want a castle (Battlehorn-style), mansion (Rosethorn-style), haunted mansion (BenerusManor-style), and lodge (that guy in Order of Virtuous Blood-style). One house is a little constricting, and we're supposed to be able to buy a lot more houses anyway.

If we can build a home where we want, i'd find the coolest waterfall in Skyrim, and build my house there. It'd be so epic.

There is that screenshot of the ruin like tower with waterfalls about it... Im sure you know the one. I have been considering the feasability of raiding it, killing its occupants and using it for my own home. But... Im concerned my loot will not be persistent.... Nevertheless, it would make a fitting home for a Dovakiin.

Using a tent that you can setup anywhere would be interesting even at the base of a waterfall.

Does anyone else have any ideas about where they want to live? Or do most people like to be homeless?

I want to live someplace really high, and with a panoramic overview of skyrim... Hopefully the greybeards won't mind..

Or somewhere very very deep and remote (like a cave behind a waterfall) where no gaurd can find me! :teehee:

My true home is the warm sands of Sentinel but while I stay in Skyrim I'd like a little isolated farm somewhere so I can grow a few crops, keep a few pigs. Somewhere to rest my head for a few days inbetween travels.

I want to live in a blimp with a 17th century 3 decker ship body...with cannons of course for those pesky dragons ;).

Also golden hall placed on a hill far off from civilization
and a log cabin in the snowy dense forests.

A isolated cabin in the woods comes to mind or a castle forgotten in the country side, but I will wait and see what my options are. I liked most of the housing in Oblivion, the Anvil home was my favorite and that was right in the middle of the city, later I got the Fighter Stronghold and that became my favorite.
