Your stance on leaked content. do NOT post ANY linksspoiler

Post » Tue Nov 03, 2015 6:08 pm

I’m curious to see where we all stand on various aspects of leaked content. Remember, DO NOT POST LINKS OR SPOILERS OF ANY KIND related to the leaked info.

Personally, I've seen a minute or two of one of the videos, but I stopped because I don't want to see anything I *shouldn't* be seeing prior to release. Unless it's published by Beth, I'm keeping my eyes averted. But, man, it's tempting.

Yeah, I'm definitely glad I got a look at the leaked content. I prefer to know what I'm buying, and Bethesda has been too tight-lipped about everything. Although I've been pretty disappointed by what I have seen in the leaks, I still got it for $45, so I can't complain.

I am just glad i found out BGS took out the hardcoe option now rather than when I started up the game.

The missing feature would have been upsetting to learn about day one.

This way I can move past the disappointment by the time the game releases.

It looked fine to me TBH.

-Graphics had a style to them, instead of trying to push pure graphics which they wouldn't have done well.
-More verticality
-Decent map size

It's called gorilla marketing. IMO, most of the leaks happened for a reason. The Hype Train doesn't run on unicorn farts.

I recall digging for every piece I could on Skyrim and that certainly didn't ruin my game play there. Course just seeing the first few minutes or some of gameplay, or some battles, didn't actually spoil anything as far as story goes. I haven't seen anything yet that really ruined anything that way in FO4 either. Basically stuff we already knew and strongly suspected.

Nothing story related just the perks and character creation.

I have to admit the more I see the less I like. My personal hype has been going down, not up, the more I see. The exact opposite happened with Skyrim, so I'm not sure where this is going to go.

I like the new features. Some little detailed features that aren't included are a little disappointing not to have. Like the holstered gun etc

I've already preordered digitally so there's no going back. I'm sure some of the new things we still haven't seen will get me more excited once we see and play them

The only leaked content I've bothered watching is the gameplay video of the protagonist fighting those Super Mutants with his laser rifle and some screenshots. I didn't watch the first few videos because they're right at the start and may spoil the story.

Yes, I want all that I can get. The only danger I see at this point in leaking content is that it could spoil things for some people... but those people can choose to NOT look at leaked stuff. I don't think anything should happen to leakers. I'd view all the leaked content I could get regardless of Bethesda's released media. Doing this DOES NOT diminish hype for me - seeing the gameplay is making me even more excited than I already was.

I don't mind screenshots as long as they don't spoil anything.

I don't want spoilers, but I do want to see more of the game mechanics, animations, visual effects, etc. I've looked at what I could find, and it was good to see a little more gameplay and combat. I haven't seen anything too spoilery, mostly just the sort of things that they showed to the attendees at Quakecon and Gamescom. If Bethesda would just release that footage already, I could get my fix without risking story spoilers.

I don't know if any of the leakers are reviewers beholden to an NDA or just regular players who have managed to get a PS4 copy out the back door of an unscrupulous game shop. I don't care really, in another week everything will be fair game anyway.

So they hired some gorillas to do their marketing for them? That's incredible, I wonder if it was those ones that learned sign language. Good job, gorillas! :D

I"m still hyped for the game. The only thing I don't like is the 3rd person animations (that power armor lol)

Great poll. The biggest reason why I seek for leaked content is the secrecy by Bethesda. I trust them and all, since I've never played a bad bethesda game, but it would be nice to see a little more gameplay than what we saw at E3. I like to see what I am getting into, y'know.

I agree I think that is the main reason why people are leaking as much.

I've seen a few screeshots, one gif, a really bad-quality video from character creation and read a few info (including all the perks/ranks) and I'm more hyped than ever.

The only content I really want leaked is what exactly the bobble heads do, and if implants make a return. That way I can plan a perfect character, and not later find out that maxing out a stat early was a waste. But, its not to bad an issue considering there isnt a level cap.

I don't actually seek leaked content. If I stumble across it, fine. If not, okay aswell.

Sure, Bethesda could give us some more footage. But if they are not willing to, it's okay anyway.

I'll buy their product anyway. Leaked content is just "what to expect".

Also I haven't seen anything "mindblowing", nor parts of the story, yet.

Generally I don't mind leaks as long as they don't spoil major plot elements.

I liked what CD Projekt Red did for TW3 in terms of pre-release videos and content. They had a steady stream of videos and screenshots that revealed enough to get me excited and to start understanding what the game would be like, but not enough to ruin anything. I wish Bethesda decided to do the same thing and release spoiler-free videos (or at least videos light on spoilers), as I know I would have been less inclined to watch leaked footage that could have contained massive spoilers.

On the flip side, I do think some action should be taken against leakers (I'm in favour of banning them from publishing pre-release reviews).

They only employ the ones that have written Shakespeare already. They would have used monkeys, but the union was driving the costs up and Beth couldn't afford all the mandatory over time and pension programs.
